well, as you know SSA is now a mach5 distributor. Right now i have 2 infinity perfect 12.1's. I was planning on doing these with a ported box, but the more i read, the more id like to try a mach 5 maw15. The maw would cost a little more, because i can probably only get about 80 or so for the pair of perfects. I have one sealed in my car now with 300 watts, but its not loud at all, and i would just be worried about the output. I know this is the mach5 forums and may be a little biased, but most\ of the mach 5 knowledge comes from here. So i ask you, keep the perfects and go ported with about 700-800 watts, or do one maw15 ported with about as much as it can handle? t…

Am trying to find a good set of coaxial speaker for my truck. I replaced my factory speakers with ome kicker DS6.5s and they sounded better than the factory but am looking for a lil more sound. Am looking to spend around $80-100 a pair. I just want to replace not to install pods, etc. I will be running them off of my pioneer head unit (50 watts per channel). I would like a lil bass from my door speakers because it is lacking big time currently. Any suggestions on a nice pair? Thanks

My friend drives a Chrysler Sunfire, and is looking at replacing the door speakers, along with the speakers in the back deck; His budget is ~500, but has to cover a new radio, and both pairs of speakers. Due to him not wanting to purchase a sub right now, what would be a quality set to invest in? He listens to a lot of rock and alternative and is concerned about how well the new setup will handle the drums and guitars.

  9. Hello all and thank you in advance for any help. I am in need of a new woofer for an existing enclosure. It currently has an Image Dynamics ID-8 v3. I'm a total front stage noob. Literally. But, I'm really thinking of new things that I can do to my truck to improve its front stage. It doesn't particularly matter to me whether it is a component set or set of speakers that are to be run in an active setup. I happen to like airy and not harsh tweeters, a smooth midrange, and a strong midbass presence. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks, Brandon

So I noticed Mach 5's got something in the works with the IXL 8". Was wondering if there's any updates on these?? I'm going to run a quad 8" setup and am down to my final choices of subs; DD 1508 and the RE RE8. I'll highly consider the IXL if it will rival these. ps It's great to see a Canadian company making some waves in the audio world. CHEERS FROM RED DEER!!

Up until recently Ive been thinking about going with a single 12" BL, SX, LVL4 XL, or BTL. But now after talking to Rusty, Im thinking anout going with 2 10s instead. Im still currently in the planning stage and i wanted some imput on what to do. Ill have roughly 2.5ft?^3 to work with under my back seat after I lift it 2 inches. I mainly listen to rap, and my goals are to get loud and low. ill currently do not have an amp, but ill be matching the amp to the sub/s.

Hi all, Some of you may be following my build log. Well my dad is seeing my progress and he's getting jealous. He drives a 1986 Mercedes 300SDL. He's the person who got me into audio in the first place. He as an incredible-sounding system in his car, with the exception of bass. He only has 4" MB Quart speakers installed, running on a PPI amp and a super high-end Nakamichi head unit... the one that's all metal. The detail I hear in his system is just incredible. He hates loud bass, but he most definitely could use some improvements in the low frequency range. Some of you may know these cars-they have a gas tank right behind the rear seats, and the trunk is relatively…

ok, so I set out to look for a pair of these subs and wound up with 3 of them. They arrive next week and I am starting to look for some options. I thought of selling one and running two ported off of 2-SQA-1's that I have, but I am increasingly liking the idea of running all three. I have looked at the Audiopipe AP30001D which according to JBLCAMRY are good for 2600rmsx1@2ohms, but I have also looked at the new Soundstream Dtower which does 1400rmsx1@2ohms. Just looking for suggestions and seeing where we go from here. I am looking for a great sounding, loud system, and I typically try to do things right the first time so that I do not have to have any worries for …

I know that in the subwoofer realm, cone area reigns over power if you're trying to get louder. Does this apply to fronts too? I recently got a new set of comps and I love em but they're not loud enough....well...that's misleading. I'm sure they'll get loud enough but I don't feel comfortable throwing 300+ watts on each side to get what I want. So I thought maybe running two sets up front would give me the loudness I'm looking for while still retaining the clarity of the sound. I'm not looking for perfect imaging and staging because I know having four tweets up front will ruin that (or will it?) As long as its equally as loud in each ear, I'm happy. Will two (or more) set…

I am currently running a memphis 16-st1000d amp. My question is: If I were to get 2 D2 ohm subs and wire them to 1 ohm on this amp, would it hold up ok? I've read that it has a 1100 watt output on 14v @ 1 ohm. I'm not sure the effenciency or anything though. I've done a little research but havnt found a whole lot. Here's probably the best post I could find: Memphis Car Audio 16-ST1000D

  24. Hey Guys, I've spent an hour or so on the Forum looking for specific on optimum wiring for my single GCON 12" I've have two amps here at the house: Diamond Audio D600.1 Mono block 275W x 1 @ 4-Ohms450W x 1 @ 2-Ohms600W x 1 @ 1-Ohm OR Boston Acoustics GTA-500M Channels Mono Bridgeable Not Bridgable RMS Power at 2 Ohms 500 W x 1 RMS Power at 4 Ohms 300 W x 1 1. Which one would you use and how would you wire it? It's going in a sealed 1.4 cu ft box, I'm more about clean and crisp.... Can a Jedi kick down some layman's terms??? So very appreciated.
