soo, i'm chillin in the parkin lot wt my buddies and i crank it up its playin, so we hit the strip let the windows down, And then my sub just stops playin :thud: so i go and park my amp is still on i check the wires still nothing so i take the sub out and its scorchin hot but it looks coo, so i push in on the cone and it doesn't move :thud: It is blown but i still havenot checked it to make sure , i gotta check the ohmage of it... Then i gotta hit up dave about it...

I'm not planning on getting any (way too much for my needs) but has anyone dealt with splc subwoofers? They seem pretty legit. Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with them. I see a craigslist posting for two splc neo 10" subs almost every other day(along with a stetson 7k and some battery's) for $2000. Either way, who has dealt with these bad boys and has videos?

Well I was talking to the guys in the hop and wondering what would be a wonderful 2-way active setup. If I get this 4 channel JBL GTO75.4 to go with my jbl 1100.1 that is. I have two dvc 8 inch subs and one dvc 12 in a box that's ported with a zues mono block amp. Whats the best enclosure for the three? Can the 12 push the 8's out of phase? I need a suitable box design and wiring config for this setup

Just picked up a 18" dual 1 ohm SSA Icon and have it in a 3 cube sealed enclosure now. Looking to optimize this woofer with the right box and design. It is wired to 2ohms on a JL 1000.1 Slash v1. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

I was looking and I cannot find 12" d2 icon specs...can anyone tell me? Also, I now may plan on running just a single 12"...I have narrowed my choices to three: xcon 12" d2 icon 12" d2 sa-12 d2 can anyone post up which sub they would choose? So, a friend of mine who I havent seen in some time recently told me that he is in an urgent need of cash so he is selling all his car stuff. I didnt see anything interesting. Then he told me about his subs. He has 2 12inch MMATS Dreadnauts in a custom made, ported box. Each sub retails for $500 (woofersetc.com) + the enclosure which he says cost him an extra $350. He told me (a week ago) he would give them to me for $600, I said no. Then recently, we talked about again. He ended up lowering the price down to $300. hey guys new to this site and new to car audio and i just bought 2 mj-18 svc 4 ohm and i want to know what amp out there is the best to push these subs i want something to give them 700 watts a piece or more if they can take them dont really know alot about the car audio game so all the help i can get will be great

A while back I picked up 4 MJ18s for use in my home system and I was recently finally able to get them on a Klippel analyzer to see how they perform at small and large signals. I'm posting the information here for anyone else who cares. First off, the unit to unit variation was small. For the linear parameters I'll list the average and for the nonlinear curves I'll show one of them; the rest are similar. I've got around 300 to spend on a sub and am looking to get a decent s ql setup. I don't plan on upgrading my electrical so I'm trying to stick around 1000w. I want sq so w/e I choose will be put in a sealed box in the back of my extended cab toyota t100. I'm very interested in the mach 5 subs. How would say a ixl 18 compare to a fi q 18? I'm considering a single mach 5 ixl 18 or 15 with 1000w or 2 mach 5 mj`8's off of 1000. Which setup would get louder? Which would have the better sq? I'd really like to get to the 140db range but I'm not sure if it's possible with only 1000w sealed with these subs. What do yall think? Any help is appreciated.

Well earlier this year i had a crossfire vr2000@1ohm around 3kw on a dd 9515g in a Pete K. designed t-line. I really like the output through a broad range of frequencies, and plan to do another t-line setup. However i think i could have made a better choice for woofers I have a 2006 nissan frontier (the bigger ones), have quite a bit of room if neccessary. Undecided on an amp to power it but will be at least 3kw with proper alt and batts. I have installed two sets of PG RSD6.5 comps with 100 watts per channel still running passive for now. i think the two sets of comps ran active would almost keep up with the system i have in mind. My buddy called me today and is coming over tomorrow and wants a 10 for under 100 bucks. Its late, 1"20 A.M., and I dont really have alot of time to look around, I was thinking a Kicker CompVR or a RE RE. Anyone else have anything else that fits the bill, cheaper the better. Anyone have experience with the new Tang Band Neo 6x9 subs? My new truck will have 6x9 cutouts in the front doors and I'm looking at these for dedicated midbasses in a 3-way front setup matched up with Hybrid 4s and tweets. Power for all coming from a trio of Sundown 100.2s and filtering from a Altomobile Drive 30. I really want to do the Hybrid 8s in the doors but it doesn't look like that will possible without some heavy cutting on the door and door panel which I'm not willing to do this time around. i have been instructed that you can not use multiple mid bass drivers (or multiple midrange/tweets either) because it is not possible to setup proper staging with this configuration. staging being set via the dsp to push the sound stage past the physical limits of the vehicle. is it true that multiple drivers are next to impossible to setup a sound stage on?

Say we have a sub like a kicker cvr , kickers prefab package they sell is with the subs at a bare minimum on air space 1.75 cubes and tuned around 40 to 42hz . Say we take the subs put into a larger box with 2.25 cubes still with same tuning would you gain anything?

I just bought two 15 inch memphis mojo's that need recones. just wanted to know everyones experiences with them. And i contacted psi about reconing then but they havent replied yet. yeah..the box was made by fine custom works, and is 4 ft^3, tuned to 32 hz. i didn't take any excursion porn pictures...im still only running it with a crappy power acoustik 900 watt amp with the gains turned down low, but it still gets so loud and stays so clean. my old subs (don't laugh, audiobahns) sounded like crap compared to this. when i'd turn them loud, i'd hear popping and it sounded terrible. these sound so much better. im surprised at how good the sq is on this 15"...i always heard that 15"s were a little sloppier than 12"s, but they definately are not like that at all.
