My friends dad has a 10w7 that either blew up, or just ripped the whole surround. I was wondering if there is any kind of recone kit for it. jl has them but they are 300 dollars. lol

First post here so excuse me if this is a dumb question. I have an RE SEX 12 in a sealed downfiring box with a Hifonics series 7 Zeus bridged at 4 ohms. The setup sounds great and hits all notes effortlessly. This sub started popping after a day or two at high levels though so i adjusted the gains way down. Will a sub with a higher power handling capacity help this or am i doing something wrong?

I have a huge issue. I want to go with the L8 to get the best mid/midbass and maybe a tweet form HAT but I CANNOT go IB. I can make a pretty big kick, but with my current situation I have to decline on the IB in door. Is this possible? If not, can it be done with a smaller HAT driver? If so how can I git-r-done? I have the sub stage done but mids are what I really really want to shine. Thanks all!

I just got my fi bl 12's in today and they are sexy as hell!!! But I was thinking..... since I have some 18's and some 12's why not buy some 8's. Sure I would love to get some fi 8's, but since there are none I guess I will have to get something else! I have NEVER purchased 8's before and was wondering if yall could give me some input on some. I have 3000 watts to work with and was wondering what are some 8's that are on the same level as lets say fi's BTL series. I have heard of people getting some crazy numbers on them but do not remember which model or company they were referring to. Help is appreciated!

Remember this thing? Sorry these photos are old. I`ll take some new ones as soon as possible. My hard drive blew up & I lost all of my photos apart from the ones on PhotoBucket. ANYWAY: Thank You! Stereo Integrity:-) These 15" Magnums are amazing subs. My system is not walled and it`s very, very LOUD. I`m very happy. Running in the subs at the moment so they`re pretty stiff. Using only 4000wrms and Tuned to 33Hz. The system is hitting 150.7dB (Term LAB). With all windows & doors shut. Straight outta the box & 1st time being played LOUD. No test tones. I was messing about, playing MUSIC With the batteries on lower charge than usual as I had left the Pow…

  12. hey all, i just signed in w/ the forum. actually, what i wanna know is what size sub/s is best for my application. first of all, i plan on purchasing the Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS comps powered by the Zed Audio Gladius Burr Brown amp. has ne1 listened to these cause i agree the front stage is the most imporant. im building a SQ system for my 02 dodge ram single cab. so, air flow is a prob. my friend says that a 12 would be too big, but does it depend on the mounting depth + box size? I love subs like the crystal cmpx2 that they only make in a 12 and 15. even if say a 12 would fit; would it be too much? he also said 2 8's is best for sq but idk how. i realize sq is subjec…

I'm planning on buying a new system during winter for next summer and I wanted to go with 2 15" sub in a ported box. I know its a hard question to answer but how much power will I need to run them? I was looking at the RE SEX15D4 but I havent made up my mind on them 100% yet. But in general how much power would be nneded to run dual 15"? Should I go with 1 amp for both or 1 amp per sub?

  15. Im building my sub box but I dont know how thick to make the enclosure. Sub is 18" Atomic APX. Will be 6cubes net @32hz. How thick should the box be. I was thinking 1.50 all around and a 2.25 baffle. But I can go 3" all around if need be. Although it will be awhile before I run the reccommended 5000rms in the meantime Ill be running about 3000rms. I was told by another guy his AP(one step lower than the APX)12 Was still flexing his box with the 1.50. I will not be glassing the inside of the box so should I go 3 all around?

Since April 23, I've been waiting for a sub box from Fox acoustics. It will be a 12" single sealed enclosure for a Dodge quad cab pickup. With a limit of $600, what would the recommendations be for quality sounding bass amp and sub?

Thought I’d share a few pics of the DCON’s I was originally running. The original subs we used in the Traverse after I got the rest of the system installed. They were originally ran on a Zapco Z-1KD but after a fateful incident with an open sunroof during a rain storm it had to be replaced. I had an Arc Audio XDi 2000 sitting in the closet and the only amp I had that remotely fit in the amp rack. The DCON’s were dual 4 ohm and wired to 1 ohm on the Zapco for a very reasonable 1,000 watts to the pair of 400wrms rated subs. I wasn’t too terribly keen on running them on the Arc 2k at that ohm load at first but since one was making a noise fresh out of the box I…

I have 2 15" MTX thunder 4500's running at 4 ohms off a memphis 1000 watt d class. I was riding around town today when I noticed a remarkable difference in output.. I checked the subs when I got home, to see that one had NO output at all.. I took the sub out to look at it, and the voice coil seems to be "seperated" or torn away from the spider.. Is this the reason that the sub stopped working, and is it repairable? It's not a major concern, I only had these subs as a temporary fix until I order my 15" Fi BL. It would still be nice to have both of these subs in working order though. Any thoughts? here's a link to a video of what happened.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O…

I am planning on making a box that is about a max of 2.1 cubes after displacement and tuned to 33 hz and made for 3 8" subs. I am caught between 3 dc level 2 8s, sundown sa-8s v1 with copper clad aluminum coils, sound splinter rl-i8s, or maybe something else readily available that would do good on around 1000 at 2.67 ohms, 1100 watts at 2 ohm, 1600 at 1.5, or 2000 at 1. I am going to use them for daily use but may try some spl runs as well. Which would be the best for me to get? And if possible, tell me why you say your choice and possibly the easiest place to get them.

on the right amount of power in a good ported box tuned to around 35hz to 30hz, which sub will produce more spl...yes i know they are both more LOUD SOUND QUALITY oriented, but narrow it down to which one will be louder! jl w7 13 or Elemental designs 13 Av.2 i know the price of the ed is almost half of the W7 but sometimes that falls back on you get what you pay for!

Just put my 15D2 in, 3.8 cubes tuned to 30 hz. words simply cannot describe it. this sub is PERFECT. louder than my 4 ED 12K's, hits more accurately, just beats the cr*p out of you. I am simply amazed. Nick (and all others associated with this project), you have done an astounding job. I don't think I'll ever buy another sub again. Just threw it in facing backwards to test it out a bit and measure against my last setup. gonna go try it forwards now, like how I had planned to set it up.

I am thinking of either doing 2 10's or 1 12. It's going in a trunk car. Honda prelude. Small trunk :/ Space I have for box = Height - 16. Width - 16. Length - 28(side to side) Watt is best for this much space? The 2 10's(witch are going to be 2 xcons) Or 1 12(1 Zcon) If the 2 10 xcons are doable I am going to be powering them with a crescendo bc3500. If the zcon is possible I am also planning on powering it with the crescendo bc3500 (with caution of course don't want to blow it) or would the bc2000D be enough?

  25. Hello guys, how's it going? I've been banging with my DCON 12s for a while now and am thinking of stepping up my bass output. I have the DCON's in 1.75 cubes each tuned to 33hz (that's about what I could fit). For what it's worth they have served me pretty well and I've been told my many people they pound. I have them powered by a RF T500. What I'm considering is either 1 Xcon 12 ported or 1 Xcon15 sealed or 2 Sundown SA-12's in an enclosure around the same size I currently have. Either would be powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500D V.2.
