One of the voice coils on my sub no longer reads 4 ohms. I'm repairing one of my subs right now, and I decided to ohm the other subs just to see if i damaged more than that one. Well one coil is reading 6 ohms instead of 4 ohms. Leads are not broken and they do not seem to be burnt. Coil doesn't appear to be discolored. Any thoughts? Thanks

So I am struggling on choosing a tweeter that's going to fit my head units power capabilities, and if the ohm load that the tweeter is will majorly affect my vehicles audio performance. My favorite tweeter that I am looking at is 8 ohms, and RMS's at 50 watts with a 1300-20000 frequency range, but will this tweeter perform fully off my deck if its asking for 50 watts at 8 ohms? another tweeter RMS's at 15 ohms, but has a 4 ohm impedance with a 3500-25000 frequency range....would i be better off with this because it more matches the RMS wattage of my head unit? lastly, I found another tweeter that surpasses all others in that it is 4 ohms, but requires 100 watts RMS....wou…

  8. Sup everybody, I have a question here, has any body used the 12" Pioneer TS-SW124D shallow sub? Mounting depth is only 3 1/4" and they run 350 watts nominally / 1400 watts peak. $200.00 Suggested price. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...7969819,00.html What about the Pioneer TS-SW1041D 10" shallow sub, it has a mounting depth of 2 7/8", and these run 350 watts continous / 1000 watts peak. $180.00 Suggested price. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...7969808,00.html I'm also curious with the Earthquake SWS-10 (2 11/16" mounting depth, 400 watt peak, $299), SWS-12 (3" mounting depth, 600 watts peak, $399), and the SWS-15 (3 1/4" mounting depth, 800 wa…

  10. Hoping to get the powerbass 15 inch sub and power it with an audiopipe apsm 1300. As you can tell it's a budget bass project. but are there any better options for the same price or less? Or does anyone have any come tsunami about the amp or subwoofer? Any experience with this equipment?

  11. Was just wondering how a single 15" D2 will handle 1500 watts of power? Is it too much for the driver, or will it handle it perfectly and pound to my heart's content? Thanks

I just got my 15" icon dual 2 on monday =) So anyway im probably about 75% done building a fiberglass box for it and I may have to invert the sub to get the neccesary air space. When i do that I have to reverse the polarity correct? So for a 1 ohm load at the amp I would run amp + to sub - on voice coil 1 and amp - to sub + on voice coil 2 and then connect the remaining 2 terminals together. Is that correct?

Last year I purchased a set of Image Dynamics CTX-65CS for my front stage. I was running them on an AQ200.2 amp. The right side tweeter kept blowing so ID upgraded me to the XS-28 tweets and the matching crossovers from the CSX set. Well, after 3 more attempts the tweets kept blowing. They said it must be something wrong with my amp, so I swapped the amp for my Kenwood KAC-7005PS. I bridged the channels to get 100 watts per side so that overpowering should not be an issue. Well, after the warranty ran out my last replacement came in. It lasted a week. I don't know what the problem could be unless the driver on that side was bad, sending the incorrect ohms to the tweets. T…

  19. I went with direct leads because the push terminals broke off & it was dangling! So I took both off. This XCon is the first generation, it is just under 5 years old. It was reconed before about 2 years ago, and just started using it. it was a bad recone job lucky I ordered 2 recone kits, Dustcap came lose first day out & it was flapping. spider came completely off later. I wanted the job done right, So I did it myself. I think I did it right. I'm proud to say I am no longer a Recone Virgin.
