So how about it Mach 5? Why not take the current IXL motor structure from the 10 and 12 and use it to make an 8 inch version? I think it would be awesome and if priced as the IXL 10 and 12 they would be very competitive... I'd order a few, with the same motor as the 10 it would be one very very beefy sub :bigclap: It seems these days more and more are looking to drivers in a smaller size which can be seen in Soundsplinters sucess with their 8. Mach 5 should cptialise on this market Anyway... PLEASE

I recently bought a 2000 s10 from my grandma. It was my grandpa's truck who passed away over a year ago. It has less then 40K miles on it and hadn't been driven more then 200 miles in the last 4 years. Anyways, I've been thinking about a new system for it. I pictured in my head that it would be cool to build a shelving unit above the sub box in the back of the s10 (extended cab with 3rd door). Would include two open bins on either side of truck, with open space in between with metal rack to bungie to. Not sure if you can picture that but I think it would be useful. I've narrowed it down to using woofers no bigger then 10", due to height. Currently I have a 12" xcon…

I'm looking for a decent sub that i could possibly find on the internet for cheap with no warranty or anything. This sub is temporary so i'm not concerned about the sub blowing in a short amount of time; i just need it to last until this summer. I'm concidering buying 2 kicker cvr 12's...they are like $80 a piece...does anyone know of a sub that would be better around the same price range maybe $20-$50 more expensive btw i have a box that is like 2.5 cubic feet per chamber and the port is tuned to 33 hz according to an online tuning calculator

I have been looking at the Loaded SSA Icon, the Fi Bl, SI Mag, and a couple other subs but cannot decide on a size. I want to keep most of my cargo are in my Durango, but want to ensure that my sub will get plenty loud. Will a single 12 with 1,200-1,600 watts be up to the task of getting loud or should I sacrifice a little more room and go with a 15? Also, I would like to be able to run sealed if possible but ported will be fine, retain some SQ, while feeling it in my chest, if possible. Any help would be great.

So I bought 2 15" polk/momo subs off crutchfield (way before I found this site) and they rock my Geo very well. The other morning on the way to work (my beautiful biweekly commute from Sac to Fresno, Ca on the nasty smelling 99) bumping as usual, I smelled something funny besides the highway and quickly realized it was the subs. I know I had too much power going to them ( Hifonics BXI2006) from the start but used it anyway. So before I could turn it down the subs shut off...then the smoke started coming from the port holes and I thought the box was going to start on fire driving down the road! So today I pulled the speakers out to expecting to find something fried but..…

I know its a noob question but: I have a single 12" Fi BL 12 in a 2.5 ft^3 box tuned to around 33 hz or so. Its dual 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm on a SAZ-1500D. I am wondering what 2 of the Skar 12s or 10s in the optimal box would be like in comparison. I know that based on cone area alone, it should be louder. My Fi is so much beefier though. My current box is sealed to the passthrough with port and sub firing into the cabin when the seats are down. Any new box would be the same configuration.

To start off with, I have a 2000 Silverado ext.cab with RF 400.4 on mids/highs. Diamond Audio m361 components in the front doors and m341 components in the ream so I have quality mids/highs to hang with the subs I choose. I want to go with 2 12" subs in a 1.15cub ft box per sub(sealed). I will be running a RF BD1500.1 on the subs, at 13.8volts it puts out 1,627watts @ 2ohms. I was dead set on the IA Lethal Injection's, but I wanted to know what was everyone's impression of the FI Q. How does it compare to the LI in the air space I have and what are the pros and cons of each? I know the LI's come fully loaded, but you have to pay for the extras in the FI Q. I want s…

hello, just needs some inputs on the best possible tweeter + mid for $500 or less. also intallation will be pillars/dash @What music do i prefer? music would be all kinds, simply depends on my mood. rap, rock, lovesongs etc. @What sound do i prefer? something smooth, detailed, with an airy treble, something that you could hardly tell that theres a speaker when position properly. neutral to warm side of things. @Do i have a midwoofer? yes, i have already, but still thinking of a mid that can go down to 150-200hz

Hey all.Im going to be getting a Blazer or something similar here in a few months.I was wondering if a 21" Incriminator Audio Warden would be better than 2 FI BTL 18" subs in the Blazer.I would power the sub or subs with a AQ2200.I will eventually get a bigger amp or a second AQ2200 but for the time being ill be using just the one AQ2200.I know this is probaly a real n00b question but I would like to know which would be the best before i go out and spend all the money.Thanks. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I would mainly listen to music and show off but I would like to get into some competions if I could HawkEye

Also what are the sound/musical differences and quality? This will be a daily/groundpounder. i thinking about getting a used LVL4/5coil 15" for $200 locally. I'm thinking about going with a 15". and if Rusty can send me a price for each shipped to 94579. Thanks.

I recently bought a 2010 GMC Sierra Crew Cab My situation: Ive already installed an Alpine IVE-535HD DVD receiver, 2 sets of Kicker RS Components, a Kicker IX500.4 amp. I have a Sundown 1200 mono amp that has been installed also and will be building an enclosure and buying subs next weekend. My issue is I am torn on what config to go with... Option 1 - (2) Sundown SA-8's in a 1.5cf, front firing, side ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 30-32hz. Option 2 - (4) Infinity Reference 860w 8's in a front firing, front ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 32hz My main objective is to grab the lows into the mid 20's with authority. As the thread title gives away I'm just wondering if anyone has actually tried the IXL10 IB? or if they would even work in that setup. Basically I've got a mate building a comp SQ car and wants either 8 or 10in drivers under the front seats in IB (yep venting outside the car) lots of metal cutting on this one. T.S. specs for the 10 aren't perfect but thought someone might have tried anyway and could give an opinion. Any thoughts yay or nay are appreciated. Thanks, Jono
