My box isnt carpeted, so maybe thats the problem, but whats the best way to make sure you get a good seal? I just noticed there is some vibration in the rim around one of the screws on my fi. ive tried looking for silicone but i cant find anything that stays pliable and doesnt act like glue

  2. So I'm trying this whole active thing out with drivers I had laying around. I was actually pretty impressed how the random drivers sounded so I figured I could spend some money on stuff. But before I purchase, I keep seeing people saying that to make a certain driver sound good it needs a "notch filter" to smooth out the response. I researched and now I know exactly what it means, but I don't want to build one (mostly because I have no clue how to do that) so I was thinking...and I realized that they're using the notch filters for the same thing we use an EQ for in a car...right? I can smooth out the response pretty well (or I can pony up and buy equipment that can) elect…

Alrighty, Sadly it looks like my Infinity Reference 5.5" speakers are dying. (guess it more sounds like that...). Anyways, my one speaker sounds fine.. but the other one is starting to sound quieter and not nearly as sharp and i think its time to switch it up a bit. What i was looking at were the Bravox CX50CF coaxial speakers or the CX50K components.. My first main question i guess is from the SSA store do these come in pairs? or are the speakers priced individually. Also iv heard good reviews from other Bravox speakers but i havent really found any reviews on these particular ones. Obviously im looking to stay in about the same SQ range as the Infinity's, …

Alright, I honestly don't believe in breaking in subs usually. I've never done it with anything I've owned and never had a problem. Well I just placed an order for a second sa12. I currently have one I used by itself for probably 6 months so its nice and loose. Plan is to pair it up with the new one...will I have any issues since 1 is nice and broke in and the other will be brand new? Will I need to loosen up the new one first or will it just happen on its own over time?

I have a single 10" xcon in a box i built under the seat of my crewcab dodge pickup, powered by a black ice 1300w D block run at 1ohm. I get decent bass out of it, but if i try to crank it up some i get a rattling sound from the woofer cone area. This is not with all my gain and bass knobs/levels maxed out either. Maybe im expecting to much from a 10? Just seems odd my 1300w amp is maxing out an xcon when not even cranked at full tilt. Ill post a video tomorrow so yall can see. Im no audio expert and dont have an audio shop around that hasnt tried blowing smoke up my a**.

I am going for a SQ setup and I am going to be doing this in a Dodge ram crew cab. My question is, would you put one really good set of components up front and leave the rears stock or would you put a good set of components up front and a good set of coaxials in the rear? The price would be pretty much the same. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  10. My uncle ordered a four channel for his bike and gave me an arc audio mini amp ( http://www.arcaudio.com/p/ks-125-2-bx-mini# ). Does 70 RMS @ 4 ohms x 2 and 125w @ 2 ohms x 2. So now I'm looking for a good set of 5.25 component speakers. I have a 2001 Buick lesabre and that's wat size comes stock in the front doors. For substage I'm going to be running a 18" SSA Icon sealed off on approx 1000 watts. I want crisp highs and warm mid bass that will blend well with my sub stage. Looking for good suggestions on a set in the 100-150 dollar range. My uncle has all Polk components in his truck and bike and think they ssound good. Any opinions on them?

  12. 1999 mercedes benz kompressor c230 I plans are to stay full IA apart from components/coaxials via CDT. But I don't consider this a car really "usable" for spl so i'm at a loss as to what I should go for now, original plans were 6 10" 187 in a s10 extended cab on a new 20.1 but... didn't go that route and this is what I ended up with for 3000 dollars. Hey, it's a benz I still would like to do the 20.1 down the road but i'm at a total loss as to what subs to try now as room/trunk would be an issue, never had a trunk car so i'm unsure how those setups work exactly. Anyone have any suggestions as to what size/sub to try ( sticking with IA ) to give me the bass i'd like but …

Going to the shop on Saturday to get my box ready. I will go for a custom sealed box measuring 1.5 cubes. As people here already know, I am a n00b in car audio. So please I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions. What should I tell the guy to do with my box? Thickness, volume, material, etc.

Hello all. My wife bought me a Hifonics BXi 1208 for christmas and i was in the market for a sub to use it with. I don't want to spend more than $250-300 on a sub though. I just want something good for my daily drive to work and back. I listen to mostly hard hitting rap. Another thing... would it be foolish to run my sub at 1 ohm with no upgrades to my electrical? Thanks in advance

I bought it so that my girlfriends car seat for her son could be easily removed and such. We broke up today and are completely and totally done. I think it is time for a wall in my 2003 Mazda 6. I have been looking hard at the MAW-15's but would also consider the MAW-12's. What kind of space ported am I looking at and what kind of power can I feed four of them ported in a wall? I know I can give four of the 15's atleast 2k watts but would they be ok with like 6-700 a piece?

you should come out with some speakers for DIY people. like some 6.5 o 8 inch midbass drivers! ive heard lots of cars with nice systems, but getting your midbass to match the sound of your sub is really hard. and in my preference i think it sounds really nice when your sub sound matches the midbass cuase it sounds more fluent. i would def buy SI midbass stuff to match my sub, long as you dont bust out that 230 bucks per driver stuff that makes us all poor hehe. i dunno thats just been running through my head today

Are there any reviews for the Hybrid Audio products? I was planning on having a set of SEAS Lotus Reference components installed at the end of this month and was wondering how the Hybrid Audio drivers compare. I was planning on running the RW165 mids in kick panels and having the RT27F tweeters molded into my A-pillars. I'm open to the idea of a 3-way system, particularly The Legatia Pro L1 tweeter, L4 mid, and either the L6 or L8 midbass. I'll be honest with you and say that I've demoed the SEAS and I personally thought they were the king of components so I'm wondering how the Hybrid Audio's compare. As far as amplification, I was originally going to run a Sundown S…
