Subwoofers / Speakers

Currently my plans are to go with a 12" PG Titanium Elite 12" with a PG RSD1200 amp. The setup would be ported, probably 2.5cf tuned to 30-32Hz. But I'm afraid that it migh not be enough. I want something that makes it hard to take a breath at full tilt or makes my vision blurry. Can a ported 12" do this with only 1200 rms? I drive a 2008 Hyundai accent so there's not a lot of room. I could do a 15" but it would HAVE to be sealed. What would you go with? A ported 12" or a sealed 15"?

How do you wire a 15" IXL to a 1 ohm load? neg-neg- neg on amp and pos-pos- pos on amp?

Hi all, As per my newbies post, I've been hanging around for some time, and have now registered to enjoy the full support and knowledge of the SSA members! The sub and box size are not optional here, that's all I have to play with. For power I have 1400 @ 1 Ohm, 625 @ 2 Ohms or 312 @ 4 Ohms. I was dead set on an Audiopulse EPIC 8, but have not been able to find one for love or money! So now I have a real dilemma... simply put, which sub should I buy? I am looking ultimately for SQ, but do want it to get loud whilst retaining that SQ. I want to purchase a 12" sub to be powered by a Soundstream Rubicon 702. Since I have limited trunk space I would rather a sealed enclosure. I use to own a 15" Kicker Solobaric (round version from the late 90's) that was being powered by this same amp and I loved it but it took up my entire trunk. The box was huge. So big I had to aim the sub upwards since it didn't fit facing front or back. So far I've liked the reviews for the Fi Q12 but I'm still very open to suggestions. I am getting very mixed opinions about this. I have 2 12 inch ssd's going in a 04 escalade running off of a saz 1500d. What should I make a sealed or a ported enclosure. give me the reason why don't just pick one. What is the biggest difference between the two. It is my first real setup, so I don't know. The SSD's can be in either enclosure.

the Pro60's vs the new 08 focals not sure what there called but there around 500$ and they are not yellow they have the new technology and are graphite in color?

looking at zaphaudio.com, this SB Acoustic speaker is the best bang for the buck around $50 a piece. But I've seen a lot of people mention this Peerless speaker as well. The only negative I can find is the SB speaker is 8 ohms so I'd have to find a slightly larger amp to give them their full 60w @ 8 ohms compared to the peerless which need 50W @ 4 ohms. Not necessarily a negative I know...I just read up on why higher impedance is not bad. No place around here has these speakers so I can't really listen to them and determine for myself which I like better. Anyone have any input on these two? Ok here is my dillema I now have an old loaded btl 18 an lookin to get louder so, I'm thinkin of sellin this woofer an box and getting a new sub or set of subs an box what would you guys suggest. I have a saz3000d pushin it an it get pretty loud i hit a 147.1 at meca but want to break the 150 mark any input will be appreciated. I'm lookin at the dp 21 or a set of sundown 15 nightshades but willin to look at any brands just want to get louder.

I am going to install the wire for my amp now so I can have a better idea of placement in the back of the expedition. Hey, my friend was given a sub that nobody has been able to identify. It's a 15" w/ a standard 4 spoke aluminum basket, triple stacked mags and i believe d2 voice coil config. on the front it is very standard looking with a normal convex dustcap that has a bunch of weird graphics in white and the logo of a company that i know that i have seen before. It looks like a diamond shpe thats half black and half white, with a smaller diamond inside of it that is the same but the color is opposite on each side. gonna try and get some pics up tomorrow. this thing is beefy and we need to come up with a better box for it

i was wondering what the word is on these from people who've actually used them. i am looking to use them as replacements for my M6 in the doors in a 3way setup so its used to play 100-315hz, maybe 80hz at the lowest. How well do they do as a true midbass driver compared to the M6, Tang Bands, Adire and other midbass drivers.

Hello, I am somewhat new here and just purchased yesterday a pair of MJ18's. Gentleman had four of them in a wall behind the second seat in an Astro van and they sounded wonderful. im wondering how to get the sound where you can hear from blocks away. i have seen loud systems, and those ones where you can only hear the trunk rattle, someone help me out?

i just recieved a pair of 12" Fi Q's and i got a problem. i dont know whether to put them in a dual chambered or single chamber ported box? also i need to know what amp to get for them? is it better to get 1000W amp for each or a 2000W amp to power both? im also curious as to whether id need a capacitator and alternator for these bad boys??

can some one help im looking to get 2 15s i have a sundown 3000 im looking for sq but at the same time something that can take low notes more toward quality sound and dont wanna pay more then 350 a sub.
