I just had two of the DD1508 subs installed in my trunk and am absolutely amazed at what they are putting out. These frigging subs pound and sound like (2) 12's. has anyone else had the pleasure of running these same subs and if so any comments on the way they performed?

Hey everyone, I should be getting my 12" D2 soon and I wanted to ask a couple questions about boxes and powering it. I'm looking for more SQ than SPL, clean loud low-end thump is what im looking for Now as far as power is concerned I can push it with either a JBL1200.1 or a Orion 2500. I was thinking 2^3 sealed pumping it with the Orion OR 3^3 ported tuned to ~25hz pushed by the JBL. Anyone have any opinions on the subject? I have a feeling I'm gonna need to buy another D2 to get what I'm looking for. TIA

w/out getting into the high dollar range, are components worth the harder install over co/tri axial speakers? I'm getting my lows (sub) squared away now, I got the Avic D3 head unit, so now it's time for speakers. Currently, I got the stock bose and I'm not sure if I've heard a worse 'premium' set up. I'm going to say I have about $200 to work with for speakers

First let me say that I absolutely hate having to ask a this vs that question. That being said I want to get the best setup for my preferences and have limited experience. I have had many different setups but only two serious setups. Both included identical parts (same car I blew one sub switched to another.) For electrical I had the big 3 done in 0 gauge, a normal battery in the engine bay with 4 red tops in the back, 5 single farad capacitors on a bus line, a Alphasonic 8 volt line driver, two Earthquake D3 amps, and a 240amp alt. It was in an old school 4 door buick century (yes the system was worth much more than the car lol!) At first I had a 15" Audiobahn Immortal Q…

I am currently getting all the peices together on my new setup. I will be running 3 12" Memphis pr's in a ported box. I believe the box is tuned in the low 30's. Stock alternator, and a ed Nine.1, giving each around 400 watts a peice. it's going into an extended cab truck.... anyone have a guess at around how loud this setup is going to be? i'm just curious at what you guys think.

A buddy of mine is selling his IB312 because he is getting rid of his car. He is selling it cheap. Since I own a SUV, would it be possible to put this sub in a ported or sealed enclosure?

currently i have 2 12" boston acoustic g5 subs with 2 12" gtr passive radiators running off a mtx 1501D in the spare tire well firing up. im not satisfied with the spl and want something louder. im thinking about taking them out of the spare tire well and removing my rear strut bar and then make a box where the subs can fire towards the rear of the car or fire them towards the cabin since there is only a metal cross brass between the trunk and cabin (2003 mitsu evo 8). since i have the gtr radiators, im also considering firing my subs to the rear of the car and have the gtr radiators fire towards the cabin all in a sealed enclosure (shown in an example on boston's websit…

Hey i am new. I was wondering if the sub woofer brands on this site are more reliable then lets say kicker and audiobahn. I am an audiobahn guy and have my system deck out. I never knew about sites like this because they are not in retail stores around here. I was just hoping to get some insight on why these subs are so much cooler them mine and they aren't every where.

i'm thinking about adding a cheap 10" sub to my dad's home audio setup. i was thinking about a RE re10d4 in 1.5cu @ ~28hz or something along these lines. his stereo receiver has a sub preamp output so i can just buy a cheap mono amp (100-200w) for power. the sub will be going with a pair of monitor audio rs6 towers in a medium/large living room. for price reference the re subs go for about $50ea. i was also looking at the dayton hf but they're about twice as much, i'm trying to stay under $75 shipped if possible. any suggestions???

I want to get something like a single 12 or 10 and a 500 watt rms amp. Been looking at the store on here and cant seem to match anything. Ive always had jl, and had a 12 w6v2 with the 500 watt slash amp and liked it. I want to see if there is a cheaper alternative (there has to be) i like the look of the sundown amps, but 1200 watts is the smallest, yikes. any ideas. I was thinkning maybe the dual 10 setup they have in the store. I think its 2 10" dcons or something with the 125.2 amp. Any other ideas. Not looking for tons of bass, just some smooth low end to put in the car.

Well I need some advise on which one of these 8's is better for everyday use? I already have a .6 ported box and ill be getting the dvc 4ohm and a 600 watt at 2ohm amp. I listen to mostly rock and country. I've looked at the spec on both subs and the sa-8 will take 200 more watts. But I was wandering if the e8 would be loud enough?? Since its a little cheaper the e8 is what im thinking but since Im only gonna have a 1 sub setup I want it to be right. I already have a rockfosgate p2d48 and its alright but I was going for quality with my little setup not volume. A little help please

  16. Installed my Next FLS 6 6.5" shallow mount components today. I decided to install the FLS's rather than the "regular" ALS comps because I have a fetish for shallow-mount designs and seeing how they perform Only have about 30 minutes with them so far.....put them through some tracks I'm familiar with and tossed in my IASCA test disk for a few tracks. Installed them in my doors; mid ran infinite baffle, tweeter in the stock location about 6" down from the sail-panel. Powered through the passives off of two channels of my Coustic DR-514 (50w RMS per side). HU is an Eclipse 8053. Low end is taken care of by a 12" Rl-p. First impressions: Tonality is pretty darn good.…

  17. alright, system consists of pioneer premier DEH-600UB, hifonics BXi1208D pushing 3 ppi PCX102's in 3.5 cubes at 35Hz (when I build the box, lol), no rear speakers I am going to get a small 2ch amp for the front speakers and disable the internal amp in the HU, but if I buy comps, the doors will not be deadened right away, and will probably only be some ~75 dollar comps like some alpine type s, phoenix gold, etc... and the amp will only be giving them anywhere from 60-100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. coax's would be mounted in doors as would the midbass and tweets would go on the door panels right by the dash. should I just get coax's and amp them right away? get comps an…

i was wondering if i would do any damge to any component of my system by using a dual 1 ohm sub, and a dual 2 ohm sub together? Also, for us dummys out here, what is the formula to figure the resistance when wiring like that? i know there is a way to get my resistance between 1 and 2 ohms that way, but might need a diagram, where could i find that?

I've decided that my days of trying to rattle windows and shake off mirrors are over, plus I get tired of having to take the box out whenever I need the room. Now all I'm wanting is a little bottom end to my music. What I've been looking at is some of the cheaper, smaller subs on Parts Express. I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to try and fit a single sub up front somewhere (under the seat, etc) or do multiple subs in the back in the spare tire well? The only thing that concerns me about subs in the spare tire well is that since they are so small and so far back, there won't be much output all the way up front (maybe this thinking is wrong ). I plan on …

  20. As you might be able to tell from the title I am looking for a pair of really good sq 6.5 comps. I've had MB Q "Q" series (terribly dissapointed) and a few other not so great coax's and cheaper separates. I've heard the JL XR series in my friends car as well as demo rooms and they seem hard to beat at that price but if the ZR's are far better I'll just buck up the $ and do it. Just heard lots of separates from Focal anywhere from 300-850 and I wasn't all that impressed. I liked the one's for 850 (165 K2P's) but I just didn't think they justified the cost. Well who know's it all changes when you get it into a car anyway. PS I have plenty of power but I'm not doing kicks be…

Got a nice new box, I wanna keep it. It's 1.75 per with a huge port (will edit in actual port specs later)tuned to 28hz. All of the higher power handling subs I see need more space so I'm looking for a subs that can do well in this box. I'm upgrading from SA-12's and the budget can be pretty high since this won't happen soon. Just looking so I can save up, or start saving.

IDK...

  25. Hey there, I posted a topic earlier about my 68 Camaro: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=10357 I decided to build a new sub box, ported, to try and up my bass. Next I want to replace my current speakers, they aren't the best. I am trying to keep my budget around $600-700. I went to the local Car Phonics and they suggested this setup, and quoted me $692 (including install). However, I found the same speakers on ebay for under $300 (for both) and would be perfectly comfortable installing them myself. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_components.php?comp_id=61 http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_compone...php?comp_id=129 Is this a good setup for my car?…
