Subwoofers / Speakers

Just wanted to here peoples opinions. The guy next door to me has two 10" VX's in a civic, and although I just heard it walking by, seemed to be hitting pretty hard. Anyone have any experience?

Can anyone tell me what other subs have the same basket as Assassin's before the FI buildhouse thingy happened? It's about 1 year old I guess maybe a little more. The ultimate question would be what beefier 10 can I put in it's place without it getting any wider at the magnets? I've got a center console box in my truck and the width is the limiting factor not the depth. I'm looking for LSQ approx 1 cube sealed. Magnets have to be less than 6.5" in diameter.

Alright, I have been looking and looking for these but I cannot find (on DC's website) where to order them. I find the specs and everything but no "order now". I have no idea how much they cost either... Any "hey dumbass, go here" posts would be good =) Thanks in advanced.

hey guys need some advice here am look for 2 12 that will be playin off a 2000 bxi hifoinc. in my price range am loolin at a pair of DCON 12D4 or a pair of IA 187 12d4 which one would be a better buy????thanks

This is just a question out of curiousity. In the past I had a few different pair of sealed 12s. I have had Orion P12s, JL W3D4 12s and now SSA dcon 12s. IMO the dcon 12s don't get that loud sealed. The P12s & W3D4s I had were louder (I know the dcons may own either ported). Kicker subs also tend to be capable of getting loud sealed. What other pairs of 12 inch subs tend to get loud and sound good in the 500 watt power range sealed?

Got recommendations for both of these subs and gonna have 10"'s box ported designed by RAM designs. Going to have a JL audio 1000/1v2 running them, if anyone has any other recommendations my budget is roughly $400. thanks

Hi i have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and im buying 2 new subs soon. im thinking of going with the saa xcons 15"s or the ssa zcon 12"s which would be better for the lows (40 and lower) the zcons or xcons. also thinking about getting a crescendo BC3500D to power them is that a good amp. thanks

Ok so I'm trying to answer the following questions What is it? What does it do? Does it benefit the subwoofer and/or sound? Should I get it in my enclosure? For the following terms: Flush Mount, Double Baffle & Kerft Port Can someone please clearly answer those questions for each term and explain them to me? I'm completely lost. Thanks!

I know the spl, 8, and ixl series are on their way, but whatever happened to the mli-65 towers or plans or anything related to HT with the mli-65s????

I've got factories in the rear doors now, powered by a couple channels on my Crossfire VR404 (just wired it in when I did my fronts, just in case I'd upgrade in the future. easier all at one time). But I love the midbass kick, and I want more. Would it be ok to get some good midbass drivers and put back there? How high in frequency does it need to go before it gets directional? maybe 60 up to 250 hz or so ok? I also need some suggestions, probably 6.5". something that isn't any deeper than my JL XR 6.5's in front, but I'll have to look up their dimensions. Okay, currently working with 2 15" R's. Looking to upgrade, and am currently using a Saz 3KD and will be using the same amp. Now I'll run it at 1 ohm and still 2 15"s, my question is which will be more efficient the xl's or the lvl5? lol I kinda want the lvl5 to show off the HUGE motor, but not sure if i'll have enough power to push them. I can't say for sure but maybe 6 more months down the line I might get another saz amp. But for NOW which is better for the power i have? Will it dig deeper and sound better than the R's? Birthday's next month and want to treat myself to something real nice.

So lately one of my friends insists that we "have a concert" every time were in my car because hes never really heard any good speaker setups and mines the best hes heard, but all I have are kicker ssmb6 midbass on ~55 watts and 3.5 coaxials in pods on the a pillars run off the HU. The sound impresses him but if its going to be a concert I want a louder more full sound. I dont know much about what component sets are good and I was hoping for some input as to what I should get, assuming a passive component set will be a decent improvement. As the topic suggest what's the max wire gauge that will fit in the zcons terminals ? Also do you have to run fuses from your battery while running the wire back from the battery ? Well here's the story, I purchased this sub off my cousin who said that it was originally a RE 18 that he blew then he sent it to FI to be rebuilt with soft parts(not sure what this is). I then purchased a SAE 1200d to power it. Once I got everything installed I had no sound out of the sub, so I started troubleshooting the best of my abilities. I still couldn't get it workin so I took it to a audio shop who said he tested the system and it was the sub that was bad, he was unable to tell me why. I have been running my IA Death Row 12 for about 4 months now. It is in a 2.1 cu ft box tuned to about 30 hz. I like how it sounds and like its output. I recently took a trip home (7 hrs) with my car loaded and thought what if I had to change a tire. I wouldn't be able to get my spare out without taking the box out. My backseat was also full of stuff and would have had to set the box out in the snow. I have been thinking about running two tens that work really well in small boxes. after i sealed it up with silicone the first time the weird noise stopped but there is a noise thats back again. at higher volumes my low bass drops off severely and it makes this crazy noise. im so confused..

I've got two IXL 18's, svc 4 ohm, I believe they're pre-ordered models but they've never seen power. My cat Sandwich decided to sleep on one of them the day after I got them in the mail and caved in a nice fresh dust cap. If I wanted to recone these to dual voice coils, either D2 if I decided to use one, or D4 if I want to use both (looking for a 1 ohm load) (the baskets have holes on the other side waiting more push terminals)... A lot of you have already seen this, but I am posting it for those who haven't. This is my newly completed SQ project........ and maybe a little SPL on the side. My friend is finishing up his system and is in the market to buy a 10 inch subwoofer. He is going to run it sealed and we have narrowed the selection down the Icon or the RL-I. We decided to run it off a sundown 100.2 bridged and from what i have heard i believe it puts out about 500 watts at 4 ohms. Can it be run at 2 ohms? Also in terms of SQ does the RL-I take it?

my plan was to run a single 15 sealed in about 2.3cuft. i did some more measuring last night and i could maybe get 3cuft. i may have to rethink my amp mounting. so i narrowed it down to an Fi 15Q (will work if i go sealed), Fi 15SSA, (will not work sealed), and the DC level 3 15 (sealed or ported). my amp will run 800rms at 4ohm, 1600peak. i am interested in the level 3 15; it is the lowest rated sub in the group. are those numbers conservative? i did pm rusty. he said it would run fine at that level sealed. how are hard have those who own one pushed it? am i really losing much going sealed. i guess i am gun shy. thanks.

Hey all.Im going to be getting a Blazer or something similar here in a few months.I was wondering if a 21" Incriminator Audio Warden would be better than 2 FI BTL 18" subs in the Blazer.I would power the sub or subs with a AQ2200.I will eventually get a bigger amp or a second AQ2200 but for the time being ill be using just the one AQ2200.I know this is probaly a real n00b question but I would like to know which would be the best before i go out and spend all the money.Thanks. Yes hello im new to this site but i find it very interesting and helpful luv it my question is if anyone can help me is this . I have 2 15 inch kicker l7 @4 ohms each sub has its own amp us amps md1d 750 watts @ 2 ohms im trying to find out if i can make the subs play at a lower ohm such as 1 ohm without hurting them or is there any other way to get the most out of them i have the amps strap together.
