I'm wondering if I should pick up one for my home theater setup and throw it in a sonotube. Anyone have expierence with these and have used them yet? I'm wondering if the 8" would be sufficient for my room setup. I have ~240w to work with. Thanks! Quick Responses please lol

Thinking about picking up this sub. Oz Audio Matrix Elite 15" . I think its rated at 700 rms- my amp ,boston gt-28, puts out 1100x1 @ 2 ohms which is what this sub would be wired for -2 ohms- since it is 4 ohm dvc. Would this be a good match?

Ive posted about this subwoofer on a few other forums, well it took me a couple weeks to even get the guy to tell me the shipping and send me a paypal invoice, well he said the subwoofer was $250 for 1 Oz audio 15" ME15.2 ......which is a good price, but hes trying to charge me $55 to ship that seems to high to me even if he is insuring it and using their packaging...the reason is, is i just shipped 2 RE SE 15's UPS ground to a guy in the same state where he lives and it was only $38 dollars....and he is using UPS ground too. The subwoofer is brand new, but i saw them go for $200 new shipped on here before....i realize they used to sale for over $300 normally easily and …

Well, I'm going to need some PA mids to blend with my crescendo supertweets. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-422 I'm looking at these, they are 8 ohms. My plan is to split the power of my rear two channels of my Arc Audio FD4.150. It's rated 160 per channel at 2 ohms. I currently have Type R 6x9s on them, and I wish them to remain on the channel. Assuming I hook up 2 of those Selenium mids + a type r 6x9 per channel, the amp will see a two ohm load correct? 1/(.125+.125+.25)=2. And each speaker will be receiving ~53 watts (of course not continuous) correct? This seems like it should work but I'm not positive...

So im building a box for 2 18" subs for a drummer of a band, it will only be used to reproduce the kick drum, and maybe the bass guitar. But what subs should I use? I don't want some 150 watt 18" crappy PA speakers, what subs can I use for this, he will probly be putting out 1000-1500 watts on the amp he will be using for the subs. Also should I tune the box higher or keep it at around 35hz. The band plays rock music, and im used to building box for cars that play rap. Thanks.

im really impressed by how well everything showed up at my house. Ive bought from Fi and from Massive Audio and their packages arrived in a pretty battered condition. the boxes for my MJ's looked new. and with the triple box package the sub and paperwork looked like it hadnt moved since the box was taped up. thanks for the great service mark

I thought about painting the basket on my subwoofer. I wonder would preventing the paint to get through the vent windows on the bottom of the basket be a issue when painting the basket of a speaker that is still working. I figured i ask before i try and if it would be bad i would just paint the basket on the avalanche i need to recone.

So far I know of some mainstream subs that can have decent output sealed like JL Audio or Kicker. I also know the AA Havoc's are supposed to be suprisingly loud sealed, but that's in a much higher power range. What non-mainstream subs in the 500 watt power range have good output sealed. I know the dcon's are great subs, but much better off ported than sealed. I have a friend that wants a pair of 12s or 15s sealed off 500 watts and I'm trying to steer him away from maintream and to run something different than the JL's, RF or Kicker that everyone has around here. I'm just not sure what non-mainstream subs are capable of getting loud sealed. I tried the dcon 12s seale…

Okay, well, I'm almost complete with the fiberglass enclosure for the MAG 15, but it's about 80% glass. I am having a little trouble with panel resonance. Now, this was just the first listening session and it was without any poly in the box. I'm wondering if polyfil will cure this or is there some other means I should look to? The actual interior has been sealed with rubberized undercoating, but it is not a very thick layer and hasn't seemed to do much other than completely seal it up just in case there were any small holes (which I know there's not because I'm just that good). Any help?

Okay i have a question. how do i wire a sub in parallel and how do i wire a sub in series. and how does it effect it in ohms law. Like if i wire my 4 ohm parallel that puts it at 2 ohms. so thats what the amp output would be at 2ohms. So if i have 2 4ohm woofers and i wire them both parallel that would make it 1ohm correct?

I am wiring my d2 subwoofers to 1 ohm. When looking at the diagram below the outputs from the amplifier go to different different coils. Can I have both the positive and negative amplifier outputs going to one coil and have them branch off to the other coil? http://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/1_2ohm_dvc_1ohm.gif

Vehicle: 2003 Acura RSX Budget: $300-$450 Amp: NVX JAD800.4 Im looking to keep it simple and go passive with Two 6.5' components per door, & One tweeter per door. Will be having a fellow friend with experience fabricating doors do the install. So far Ive from a quick search, Im looking at the Incriminator Audio I6.5c's, or Image Dynamics ID65CS components...Anyone have any experience with either of these or any other suggestions? Pretty set on doing only one tweeter per door, any info on going with only one or going 2 per door would be great.

Hey all, new to the forum, poor atm, love audio, both home and car. I have 2 2005 model alpine type r's in a custom sealed and an rf 1001bd not hooked up. I bought a 4door 08 altima 2.5s last august, well rather leased now by my parents and i will purchase offlease since i grad college in december. I got the basic audio system and i am looking to beef things up in the future. I have heard excellent things about sound splinter and will probably get their midline 12" or 2 in the future with a sundown audio amp. None the less, now that my little spiel is done, i am wondering about passive radiators. Now i know these are quite common in higher end home theater and i have…

is there anything bad about using passive radiators? for the sound i am trying to get i think i either need to have a wall or open space for my subs (no trunk). i am not so much concerned with spl or sq i want my car to have a lot of impact and with the limited space that i have 4 15's wouldnt fit into my trunk with adequate airspace.

I noticed Mach 5 Audio is now offering a MJ18-PR. Are there more sizes to come? I dig the box Mark made with a IXL 15 and the MJ18-PR. Dreaming out loud. I'd like to build a box with 3 IXL 10's firing up and 3 rear firing 10" PR's for my stang. Hint, hint, make a 10" PR. Keep the excellent products coming.
