taking any suggestions on good side components for 2003 grand am...4x6's and 6x9's. does anyone have any experience with infinity kappas or no anything about them...? they look like good side components

Got 2-12" Lethal Injections coming. 600W rated rms, they'll be getting 600Wrms ea. @2ohms. Displacement .13. Sealed or ported? Flared or rectangular ports? Internal volume? Two chambers or one? Does port size determine tuning freq.?

Since I have 90% of my equipment for the blowthrough, I have been questioning whether my front stage will be able to keep up with my substage. I have been thinking about finally going active on my front stage. I currently have Alpine Type X 3ways. And I'm looking for mids(or a combination of mids) that have a somewhat good level of midbass and clarity. I'd also like a relatively good tweeter to go along with the mids. I typically like mellow tweeters but I'm open to anything as long as it isn't overly aggressive. My 8445 may not be perfectly suited for active applications but it'll be fine. I want to run 2 12" Fi Bls on a Sundown 2500.1, i should order the subs as dual 1 correct? Also, what is the weight of a Fi bl 12"

Would this work? I know the rms is only 250 rms. The box is tuned to 35 hz (slot ports) and is 2 cuft before displacement. I remember seeing a thread saying the MAW's could take a little more then their rms, but would 600 watts be pushing it? I found a guy selling a pair for $35 each , $87 total shipped to me. I have been wanting to get a pair of MAW's since M5 showed up on the forums, I think I am going to go ahead and buy them and just go easy on the gain. hey guys. so I've reached a dilemma. i have been looking around for some door speakers for my 1999 Isuzu amigo. the speakers that are currently installed are a set of random 6.5 components that i had laying around. the doors fit 6 inch speakers but i am having a hard time finding any decent speakers that will fit. any feedback would be very appreciated

Hey I'm getting a new car as soon as i get paid this month and I'm planning on getting some new stuff for it. I'm wondering about putting the Qs in a sealed box. Has anybody run them like this or maybe heard a sealed set-up? I'm really just wondering if they'll still sound good sealed up. Its also going in a Toyota 4Runner.

I have a Soundstream Reference class A 10.0 amp and 2 Rockford Fosgate P4004 Amps to use in my 2012 Tacoma access door truck. I want to put a 8 inch woofer in each back door I want to replace the (6x9) speakers in the lower front doors and replace the tweeters in the upper front doors. So what would work best with my amps? Total I need 2 (8 inch) woofers for the rear doors : Brand ? watts RMS ? 2 ( 6 x 9) speakers for front lower side doors: Brand ? This is what I have currently a sundown sax 1200d on a treo 15 ssi in a 3 ft cu box ported to 35 hz facing rear and I am thinking going 2 gcon 10s firing forward sealed off from trunk it's a little smaller cone area but would be lighter on suspension car is a 99 camry trunk is 32 deep 19 tall 38 wide just want to get most bang for buck do u think I will lose any output or will I gain

okay, that part I get, but does it have to be the SAME sub? make/model? I'm thinking of mixing RE SE 12 and JL 12w6v1's of all things. Each pair would be in their own ported enclosure, separate chamber, common box thing. Asking for trouble?

I was wondering if you guys could educate me on the topic of horns in the car audio environment. I am looking into incorporating them into my truck (S-10) when I start working on the front stage, most likely with some Dayton Reference or AA 6.5's in kicks. What I would like to know is the basics on horn install in a car, what to look for, if you can go passive, or active is a must, the basics of an active install, what kind of equipment is the best, stuff like that. Greetings, So surprised my username still works. Through college and the years following I stepped away from the audio realm. I am way out of the loop for the latest and greatest but frankly I no longer care about the audio industry though I still enjoy good music. I recently inherited this truck and out of memory of my grandfather and general practicality I am not going to modify it heavily. It has the Bose system and its fine for now. I haven't been on this forum in a while so just thought I would drop in. Can't wait to see the new BM series drivers come out. Also, I have been working on my install off and on lately, added new HO alt, Yellow Top, Big 3, etc.... and will be soon building a new home for my Mag 15 and amp rack. I am tempted to go ported but don't want to lose the sq that I love so much about the sealed mag. However, I am still being impressed more and more as I have had alot more time to play with my mag lately and this sucker still impresses the hell out of me and anyone that listens to it. Over the past few days I've noticed my dcons bass excursion decline at random times and now it is at stable very low volume compared to how it used to sound. I've only been using it for a bout a year running on a crescendo 1000c4, it used to sound badass and shook my whole car up now its just a dull rumble. I don't think I blew it out because I've been running it at the correct wattage thru my amp and had it professionally installed and thought SSA was known for it quality woofers. can someone please help me out?

OK, I was looking at the RE XXX's (newer version), and the Fi BL's. I listen to mostly metal but I do like everything else too. They're going into a Tahoe, so size isn't an issue. I'd like to do 2 12's. I'm looking to get as loud as possible but not sound like total azzz. Powering them would be 2 saz-1500d's or 2 saz-2000d's depending on sub selection. I'm not stuck to those two brands, any input in any direction would be great. Price also isn't much of an issue. Willing to spend as much as $2000 for the subs.

I have 2 15" MTX thunder 4500's running at 4 ohms off a memphis 1000 watt d class. I was riding around town today when I noticed a remarkable difference in output.. I checked the subs when I got home, to see that one had NO output at all.. I took the sub out to look at it, and the voice coil seems to be "seperated" or torn away from the spider.. Is this the reason that the sub stopped working, and is it repairable? It's not a major concern, I only had these subs as a temporary fix until I order my 15" Fi BL.
