hey guys the Recommended enclosures for the 15 SI MAG is: Sealed = 2.3 to 3 cubic feet. what is the advantage or disadvantage of going with 2.3 instead of 3 and the other way around also.. any help is greatly appreciated

I know there is probably no definitive answer, but I wanted to know where to start. I decided on a sealed box for new Mag 15 on the way to me. I figured 2.6 cubes and 2.45 after displacement. I want to know how many pounds to start with. I am looking for about the same output as my ported 12, with a flatter response. I know the site recommends 2.3. Is my box too big? Os there a way to get a little more output from a sealed box without losing a whole lot of SQ. This is my first sealed that I have had in this car. It will be getting around 1100 watts. I listen to about everything.

what would you do with trunk space like this?

Wasup guys at SSA! Its been a while and I need help on a upcoming setup I plan on getting in a week or two. What system would be loudest between 6 10" RE Audio REX 10's, 2 12" Alpine Type R's, Or a 18" Mach 5 Audio IXL 18.2.2. I might be right but six tens (period) should be louder because of more cone area but I dont really know. I also havent heard RE Audio products personally and on top of that the REX ones are entry subs. Their 175wrms each but can take more power and I just wanna be loud and still hit lows good. Space and power isnt a option. Whatever I get will be hooked up to a Hifonics HFi1500d so that will be fine and possibly tuned to 32-34hz. Please help me on …

Im reading everyone on here has their Mag d2 in a sealed box. Whats the deal? Are they a lot better in sealed vs. ported?

i was wondering how big the port should be to tune your 4 cu ft recommended box for the D2 15 to 28hz and how long should the port be?

came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI.

i have been researching alot on these 2 subs just dont know which is best for my plan. my plan is to do a budget minded spl/daily system my goal is to do a 150 under 1000 dollars on subs/amps/and batts now my question is 1) do iahve enough space for 4 15's i have a 98 chevy silverado extended cab 2) which sub is better for my application

what are the fi btl and the audioque hdc3 comparable to? Im thinkin about buying ethier two 15in btls or 2 15in hdc3s, right know i have 2 15in kicker L5s ran off a memphis pr1.1000.1 in a prefabed box i love the way it sounds but im looking for more bass, i have a 1991 cadillac deville, so hopefully i can fit either 2 15in btls of the hdc3, because the web site says the btls require a minimum of 3 cubes ported to each woofer but I AM A try for 5 cubes each, the amp i wanna get to run the woofers is the AQ3500d. But even if i wanted to get two 12s of the FIs or the Audioques would they be louder then my 2 15s i got now???????? thanx guys cleanrockone

I have a 07 GMC sierra crew cab so air space is limited. I think I may be able to fit 3 10s or atleast 2 not so deep 12s I love hard hitting bass and a good ass rumble. I listen to alot of fast rock and r&b I was thinking about going with Fi subs But what kind of amp should I get? Something that will run 1ohm stable? Id like to throw about 1,500+ watts to the subs

Hello all. My wife bought me a Hifonics BXi 1208 for christmas and i was in the market for a sub to use it with. I don't want to spend more than $250-300 on a sub though. I just want something good for my daily drive to work and back. I listen to mostly hard hitting rap. Another thing... would it be foolish to run my sub at 1 ohm with no upgrades to my electrical? Now this sounds stupid as fuck because if you read it wrong it'll sound like a useless thing to ask, but hopefully you'll know what I mean. It seems to me that larger woofers, or well, more cone area makes the bass sound rougher around the edges at high volume. Not like clipping, but not a pure smooth note like at lower volumes. It goes away a little with the door open so I can only assume it's the pressurizations effect? I like it but I don't know what to call it. I only notice it with lots of cone and sealed up, and mostly in SUV's. Not really a question but just curious if it's 10 years of shit speakers or i'm right. i have a set of 18 inch treo ssx's and im really thinking about buying some smd 18s. should i use the treos or buy the smd's? this might be a dumb question, but can u wire dual 1.4 ohm speakers to 1ohm or do you just have to wire to .7- if you have to wire to .7 can you explain how to do that please?

I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix and i was looking at some new subs and i was wondering if i should get two 12" ssa icons or fi btls. I am also planning on getting a saz3000d to push these with a yellow top optima(or equivalent) plus i already have an 220 ho alternator.

Is a JL 500/1 be enough power to really pound my mag 15'' D2? Also is there any other amps with comparable features/sq as the 500/1 for a less price and maybe a few more watts? I really like the 500/1 and have got many positive reviews. Does anyone have a birthsheet on one of these puppies?

I have a dc level 4 12 with level 5 dual 1.4 coils and a xl 12 with dual 2 coils. I am wandering if i can wire them together and have them in the same box? If so what would the ohm load be when wired together?
