Looking for 2 12 inch subs that go loud and low for about $250-$300 a piece. I currently have 2 mtx 7500 12s and a mtx 1501d amp. The birthsheet that comes with the amp claims 1863 watts at 2 ohms. I have looked at kicker L7s but then i found this website. Any help would be great, thanks

Ok so I *finally* got my Bravox order. The part shipped via UPS got here quick. The USPS part... not so much. I was getting worried cause they were 4 days past due but they showed up today. Besides, I'm not in a big hurry so no worries. Now for the really important part. I see the midrange and the tweeter are pre-mounted in their respective housings with the really nice aluminum trim rings, etc. But.... how do these babies come apart? Do they come apart? They have to come apart otherwise I am screwed. The plan is to mount the tweeters in the factory locations in the mirror trim pods and the midranges next to the midbass drivers in the door. This will NOT work if I can'…

Do you think the Zed minilith would be a good amp to power my SI 15 or should I keep my Concept CC-D1200. TheCC1200 has a few issues but has more power than the Zed but the Zed has a nicer build and can make more than the rated 600rms. But I like to have the overhead. Also the 15 has a slightly softer suspension, correct, than the 12? So having 1200rms on tap isn't needed. Who knows.

So i'm trying to find a good component set for my 2004 explorer. The stock speakers are 6X8's. when it comes to components speakers, i don't really know much of anything. i need 2 sets, (4 speakers together) and my price range is near $150 a set. (perferablly lower, of course ) i was looking at the Infinity Kappa's 680.9's. anyone have any experience with these or other Kappa components? I got a 18" btl and a saz3000d, so i really need to get rid of the stock speakers. no rush though, i still have to buy an Iraggi Alternator and a Kinetik for the car before i start on components. (but they should come quick, im selling alot of stuff on craigslist) I'm looking mainl…

My friend drives a Chrysler Sunfire, and is looking at replacing the door speakers, along with the speakers in the back deck; His budget is ~500, but has to cover a new radio, and both pairs of speakers. Due to him not wanting to purchase a sub right now, what would be a quality set to invest in? He listens to a lot of rock and alternative and is concerned about how well the new setup will handle the drums and guitars.

Ok so I want to buy a sub but I dont know what to get. So I was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction. Every time that I bought a sub I went to the store and listened to it and if I liked it I bought it. Now, I am most likely going to buy it online. So my question here is what am I looking at/for when I shop onlie for a sub? Here is kind of what I am looking for: Either a 12" or 15" (ill take suggestions for both) 1500 wrms in a sealed box. Please dont just say "Go with these cuz they are effin awesome!". Tell me why they are effin awesome. I need to have an educated decision because my truck is literary being built around the sub. Thanks in advance! P.S.…

I have decided the Sundown Audio SA series is what im going for. I need the best setup for what im doing but im not an expert, thats why I came here. The car: (not yet purchased) A new (or recently new) Dodge Charger My ideas: 2 SA-15s, 2 SA-12s, or 3 SA-10s (The 3 SA-10s are the last option on my list but il keep them in mind) The power: All off of a 1200 or 1500 RMS amp (I will have no other modifacations so I need to keep the power down) I bump daily, im careful about feeding to much power and i take care of my subs. I want SQ but im mainly going for SPL when i need it. What setup is best for me? Any questions about this just ask. I am unsure if I will port or go se…

Are these any good? I found a local shop with some FNX1514's and FNX2514's brand new in the boxes and some Fanatics amps as well. From what I can tell these are older Fosgate but I don't know much about them. What is a good price to pay for them? Should I get them?

I am building a box in my wheel well. In the wheel well there is a small bracket that is where the spare tire is secured down. If I were to place a pipe in the middle of my box, to be used as a pass through where a long screw would go through to secure the box down. I would silicone it of course, I just want to know if there is any sort of petential problem music wise. See the attached for an idea of what i am talking about.

On certain bass beats my rlp 12 makes a funny noise. Its the kick drum or bass punch type that makes it do the sounds. Its being run by a saz 1000d. Blowjob unit . . i mean head unit is the discontinued pioneer deh-p440 if that helps any. It runs through test tones without making the sound. I took it out of the box and visually nothing looks wrong. I pushed down on the cone and heard no scraping. It makes the sound at not even half excursion and can only be heard when i come close to it but i know its not healthy for the sub. It sounds like its heavily distorting but with a more metallic sound to it if that makes sense. Does anybody have any ideas? Did something get stuck…

Well to start off i have a 95 camry, my previous system was stolen which was a 15'' L5 on a punch 1001bd in a sealed it was loud but not enough so im not that disappointed that its gone but now im looking for something better. I just came back from a few audio shops to get some ideas. i was thinking four sealed 12 but the way the box will have to be will make the two outside subs starve for airspace, so i started looking into some subs that will be alright in a small enclosure...(JL 12w6v2)the guys recommended three 12's or two 15's the subs im looking into are... Two 15's BTL AQ HDC3 L7 Four 12's Cvx 12w6v2 Fi Q The amps will probally be two AQ2200 but im open for sugges…

I've was looking at the SI BM to use in a behind the seat install, but they don't seem like they will be ready in time to order. I don't have much experience with shallow mount subs. Just looking for some other options for brands. I want something that will work best in a ported enclosure. Don't have an amp picked out yet, so power will be determined after sub is picked. This is for my GF's younger brother, so it doesn't have to high end. I'll be building the box to fit behind the seats of a pickup. So, not much room. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!!!

I bought it so that my girlfriends car seat for her son could be easily removed and such. We broke up today and are completely and totally done. I think it is time for a wall in my 2003 Mazda 6. I have been looking hard at the MAW-15's but would also consider the MAW-12's. What kind of space ported am I looking at and what kind of power can I feed four of them ported in a wall? I know I can give four of the 15's atleast 2k watts but would they be ok with like 6-700 a piece?

Hi guys, Im new to this forum so i hope i put this thread in the right place. I have 2 10" Kicker L7's in my truck that are getting power from a Hifonics Bx1605d in a sealed fiberglass box I started noticing the the one on the right is acting a little funny and buzzing a little bit. i took it out the other day and realized that it has a rip in the coil. Its on 04 model so it is decently old. I called Kicker and asked if they do repairs and they told me no but i could send it and $210 in and they will send me a 08 model... i can get the 08 models off ebay for far cheaper... my other one is fine but this one sounds horrible.... Im not too educated with all the Car audio li…

I'm trying to come up with a ported box using the http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html, for my MAW-12. I've come up with the following, just wondering if it's right. I've gone to a bunch of other design programmes but they seem to require metric conversions to be made or info I don't see on the specs for the sub. The measurements I've come up with are the following: Using 3/4 MDF, 24X15X15X15, Port 1.5x13.5, with this I come up with a tuned freq of 28.62 which is right around the specs of the MAW-12. Now, the box volume listed is 2.019 feet with this design, is this the net box volume including those 2 extra sheets used to create the port inside t…

After my brother came to me wanting a new sub for his 84 S-10 after his ex-wife stole and sold his old one on him. I imediatelly recommended the MAW-15. Well today we installed it in an old 2 cubic foot prefab box I had kicking around the house and hooked it up to his Alpine MRP-M350 which is rated at 350rms @ 2ohm. With the size of the box and seeing as its only an extended cab, the MAW sits only 2" behind the front seats facing forward. And I have to say.......having never driven a car where I bascially sat near the sub, or even having a hatch or fold down rear seat for that matter. I was truely impressed yet again at the musicality and overall output of this driver. My…
