I'm looking for replacements for the Tang Bands (see sig)....recently blew one The TBs were decent but I would like to upgrade a little. Prefer a smooth laid back sound..definitely do not like overly bright spitty sounding tweets. Setup is active with alot of tuning ability. I have read alot of good things about Seas Neos and Rainbows (can't remember model). Would either of these be a good match with my DLS mids? Also please list a source if you can. Thanks.

It finally came this morning from Mr. UPS himself. I got that and a new box today. I have a custom ported box with dual ports tuned to 30Hz. I hooked it all up to my rockford p1000bd and I couldn't get the rca cables to reach so i gave it a slight tug and ripped the cables. So I just took the rca's off my speaker amp and hooked it up that way, didn't know what to expect, it is in a trans am. I turned the gains half way up and just stared at it for a while lol. Then I figured it was time, time to shut the hatch and sit down and play a bit with no door speakers. It sounds incredible, it is so so loud, shaking everything inside my car and shaking the mirrors outside my car a…

Looking at going active for the first time. Will be using a 9887 as my source Probably a kx/sx 800.4, or orion 8004, etc. I'll be mounting the woofers in my doors, not quite sure where i'll be putting the tweets. This will be in a 99 Tahoe. I would like something that i can crank fairly loud when i'm in the mood. But i dont want anything harsh. I'm not completely sure what i want yet... I'm really hoping you guys can point me in the right direction. I'm not opposed to buying used either. The main things that are set in stone are the HU, and the higher volume requirement. EDIT: I will run whatever mids will fit without cutting.

So I am going to get a 15" Mag and want to know the optimal size box to build for my trunk. My MAX dimensions are as follows: 17 1/4 in. high 33 1/2 in. long 18 in. deep I used the speaker calculator from BCAE that I found on a google search and it calculates these numbers to 5.844 ft. ^3. Seems high to me, but??? The smaller the better, yet I want it to hit lows as well as it can without sacraficing to much. I'm running a Sundown 1500D. Any assistance is much appreciated.

so i have 2 15" mags powered by my Incriminator 20.1 @ 0.5 ohms. And it gets loud and sounds great but i would love to go ported but just can't fit a 7^3@30 htz box in my trunk. So what would be the smallest ported enclosure you would use for 2 15"s? i can fit 5 cf@30 no problem but much more than that and i'm hurtin'

Ive got myself a 1977 Buick Regal...thas one of those metal cars...no plastic...and no type of dampening so yes sound dampening is on my to get list. Im not an all out SPL guy, but not any all out SQ guy... Im more of a "LSQ" guys that many people are...but wont admit it. Due to an awkward trunk...I AM A go with either 1 15 or 2 10s. I want it to sound clean and hit the lows. Boxes im thinking bout ..... two 10s...3 cu ft. tuned to 32hz, 1 15 3-4 cu ft. tuned to 32 hz I dont wanna spend more than 230 for a single woofer or 400 for a pair WOofers Fi SSD 15 AA Aresnal 15 Re SE 10, 15(they are pretty cheap on ebay) Alpine Type-R 10, 15( hear they arent very good on the sq, i…

Ok I am majorly confused about about how to do a good front stage. Just to give you an idea I am planning on getting a 18" BTL with the SD3000D in a 8 cubic foot box. I have boon looking at all kinds of speaker and I want to get a set of 6.5" components with 1" tweeters. I will probably go passive for now because it is easier and im not that SQ oriented. I mainly want something that will keep up with the sub. So what is all this 2-3-4 way stuff it has me so confused. What is better and why? Also I have 6x9's in the rear deck but I have heard rear fill sounds like chit with subs. So would it be good to get like a set of 8" or 10" midbass drivers to mount back there?

Since I have 90% of my equipment for the blowthrough, I have been questioning whether my front stage will be able to keep up with my substage. I have been thinking about finally going active on my front stage. I currently have Alpine Type X 3ways. And I'm looking for mids(or a combination of mids) that have a somewhat good level of midbass and clarity. I'd also like a relatively good tweeter to go along with the mids. I typically like mellow tweeters but I'm open to anything as long as it isn't overly aggressive. My 8445 may not be perfectly suited for active applications but it'll be fine. I will be powering this with my sundown 100.2. I'm open to 2way and 2way suggest…

I'm buying 2 JBL GTO1502D (15") and I went on their website to see a box layout. But I don't really want to do that. Anyone have any ideas or sites maybe I could see a dual box layout. Someone told me I should do enclosed no vents, but I think I might need vents. A bit of help please? Either a site that shows me a build blueprint for dual 15" or a site I could buy dual enclosed box, cheap? regards, timinsk

I know this thread is a teaser because we don't have the pictures uploaded yet, but as of last night we finished up our latest HT. The system includes a Denon 7.1 receiver, Denon up-converting DVD player, Panasonic 1080p HD projector, HDMI cabling, 20 Hidden Audio transducers, 124" 16:9 screen, Lutron automated lighting, MX900 remote, 2400 watt amplifier, and four BM 12's ported to 30 Hz in a 12 ft^3 box. The neat thing about using Denon receivers is that the upper models (this customer has a 987 model) have a 7 band EQ per channel, where each channel can be EQ'd independantly or the same EQ setting applied to all channels. The receiver is also super user-friendly and v…

Our newly designed web page is now up!! Many thanks to Cliff, "the abunai", for putting it all together for us. As many of you are thinking, the Mag, BM, and Home Theater pages are going to be updated shortly. But anyway, I love the new web page. Let me know what you think.

Hi guyz, Just wondering if someone has already used one of those? http://www.tymphany.com/products_Tymphany_LAT.html How big should the box be (sealed) for, let's say a LAT 700? Last question, and a stupid one, would those work in an IB alignment? seems like vas and qts are good enough (my guess)... heh

hi, today i heard some horns because i wanted to see how loud they really are compared to normal speakers and i didn't think they sounded that bad it was just that they lacked midbass so i was wondering would it sound weird to have a horn and a midbass driver for a front stage and have normal speakers in the back( componots [i don't need to know that having rear speaker messes up imaging because i already know plus i already made holes for current speakers in my rear deck cover for the tweeters])

hi, i have a 12" type r that needs a recone (burnt vc) and since i can get a new one for almost the same price for a recone kit i figure that i would try to do a hybrid sub with it. but here is my problem. the type r uses a 2 " diameter vc and the basket has an opening for that size vc. so while i was looking around and i could find any sub that had a 2" vc that was worth doing something like this to. so i was wondering if anybody knows any subs that uses 2" vc. and also if anybody could tell me how a type r gets a burnt vc from only 375 watts. i see that tc sounds epic have a 2" diameter vc.

Does anyone have experience with the Exile flat subs, or even flat subs in general? My 10" Q takes up way too much space in my car (2 seater) and adds too much weight so I'm going to sell it and it's looking like a flat sub is my only option to stay comfortable. I know a sub like this won't be near as nice as my Q, but do they at least sound good and get loud enough for normal listening?
