what is the recommended box tuning and size for one 15?

okay i just went to a competition and though i did good but i want to go louder. i have a mostly rockford fosgate system. this is what i have (2) sets of sony component sets (1) T400-4 for the mids and highs (1) T1500-1BDCP for the subwoofer (1) T2D415 the subwoofer is wired down to 2-ohms Pioneer priemer 3200-ub head unit stock 90 amp alt (2) batteries one is a yellow top and the other is a shuriken 80 amp battery 0 gauge wire throughout the car big 3 done on front and back battery box is a 4 c.u. ft. ported and tuned to 36hz the car is a 1996 eclipse rs hatchback i hit 141.0db in stock 2 of the idbl competition im stuck deciding between re audio and fi but open to more…

please someone tell me so i can tell my friend alpine Type R is not the best thing around!!! he said he hear 2 12s ported runing off the 1000rms alpine amp. srry forgot the model #. a list of sub(s) that can beat them in sq and spl in the same price range would shut him up or atleast change his mind alittle....

Hi, I currently got a killer deal on two 6x8 speakers (it was the speakers or wait to get paid back...) I was wondering if any of you guys know a nice simple tutorial, or just an easy way to install 6x8's in 6x9 slots. Also, I have stock speakers (pretty sure its non jbl with 6 speakers [06 camry v6 LE]) If I were to replace only two of my stock speakers for now, what would be the best way to go, back, front, etc?

Hey everybody i came across an old 12 xtant and was wondering if it was worth anything.

So, I have a sundown ZV4 15 that I bought off someone online. I knew it had been previously reconed. I've only had it for about 3 months and now only when it hits higher bass notes like 45hrts and up I get this annoying vib. Anything under 45hrts even low 20's it sounds beautiful. Did the person that previously reconed it do something wrong or what. And how do I go about building a new kit?

So finally I paid of Rusty and got my subs shipped out to me on tuesday. And the very unhappy FedEx driver showed up to my house on Thursday. Big hats of to Rusty. thinking of either running 3 AQ SDC2.5 15's or 2 HDC3 15's...wondering what to tune them at. ive heard around 38-40 but that seems high. I had 2 BL 18's @ 33hz and liked the way that sounded so im thinking around 33-35 for the AQ's. Opinions por favor.....

Hey guys Im currently waiting for my SI 12" to be delivered from low-hz and Im starting on the box. 1300ish watts from a diamond D5 1200.1 in a 1.25ft^3 pre displacement sealed box. Anyway trying to work out dimensions and I was just wondering what the mounting ring diameter is? Just so I leave enough mdf outside the 11.125 cutout. Thanks

im looking for a new sub ive narrowed it down to the Fi SSD 10 w/ copper coil and then AA Arsenal i just cant decide between the two... what im going for is clear and detailed daily driver that can play lows its going to be run on a zapco 500.1 the arsenal matches my power exactly, but i hear the ssd is detailed and can play the lows very well... i just dont know make up my mind for me i would like to have the sub ordered within the upcoming week thnx!

yeah, i finally made enough money to order the 15" d2 yesterday. thank god for ebay. anyways, my original plan was to power it with a hifonics brutus 1500 watt amp. id wire the sub to one ohm and get the 1500 watts. then, as i was reading this forum, i saw that other topic about putting 1500 watts to the sub, and how it was said that 1500 is quite a lot. my question is...should i continue with this amp and just set the gains down lower? or should i downgrade to the brutus 1000d amp? this will be a daily driver...so yeah. next question. my box. im lookin for probably 60% spl, 40% sq. so i was thinking about a 4ft^3 ported enclosure, tuned to 32hz. would this sound okay for…

I wanted to make use of my DD mids and put them in the burb doors. I dont have any tweeters or a crossover so i contacted upstage audio about some CDT ones. He offered me the tw-24 tweeter with 456 crossover for a nice price. My question is, will my DD's with a dcr of 3.5ohms pair up with the 4ohm tweeter and crossover without any problems ? He also offered me an orion P series crossover instead of the cdt one. I have no idea if the Orion would be better. I think the Orion mids have a lower dcr, somewhere near the DD's...could be wrong though please excuse any spelling errors, i cant get it down pat today for some reason

I was just wondering what a good price was for these two of these, because i have seen a couple people trying to sell used ones for 250 each plus shipping and then i was offered two lvl3 for 350 shipped i was just wondering if i just got a good offer for the lvl3s or if the guys was overpricing the lvl4s thanks for all inputs

Other than the space it would take up. Would the sound be different in a box thats 2.5 (per sub) @ 32h vs. 3.5(per sub) @ 32hz?? Same power, same subs, same everything. Thx

I was thinking of buying a 18in or two, or maybe even a 21in DP. But in all reality I probably should just build on what I have. So I was thinking another 2 Dcons. I'm not sure how much louder it would be, or if it'd be worth it to try. I saw Hairyunicorns 6 Dcons, and yeah they looked like they looked like they did decent, but I think his issue was the box. A bit small. I have lots of room for these Dcons, and don't care about cargo space so... I was trying to design a box that would give the Dcons all the space they need, without losing my backseats. Hi, I will sell my Xcon this week. I have a wonderful deal, so I must sell it !!! I love the Xcon, but want to try something else. If I could fit (2) 12" , I would get (2) Xcons. Now, I want a 12" Fi Btl N2 to put in my 3.2 ft3 ported enclosure. I like it because of the "reduced" weight. I want to be louder than now, but still clean ! I listen to reggae and rap mostly. I thought about those 12"subs : Fi Btl N2, AA Mayhem, DC level 4 xl,... But what is your opinion ? What would you choose ? In the future, I will try a more powerful amp (2500 watts), and I will build a smaller box for the 12". I need room in the trunk to fit a battery and some groceries eventually ! Waiting…

Those of you that are running HO alts, what do you have and where did you get them? I will be coming into a little bit of money in about a week and think I might get one. I have a 99 Alero with 110 amps stock alt. I have a PG t1200.1 and a PG t500.2 to run. I want to be sure they get all the juice they deserve. Looking for suggestions. Got a nice new box, I wanna keep it. It's 1.75 per with a huge port (will edit in actual port specs later)tuned to 28hz. All of the higher power handling subs I see need more space so I'm looking for a subs that can do well in this box. I'm upgrading from SA-12's and the budget can be pretty high since this won't happen soon. Just looking so I can save up, or start saving.

Next I want to replace my current speakers, they aren't the best. I am trying to keep my budget around $600-700. I went to the local Car Phonics and they suggested this setup, and quoted me $692 (including install). I have heard amazing things about both of these subs, which is cool. Actually, I have NEVER heard one bad thing. I am curious, how do these two subs compare. I am very much so a noob and know nothing about comparing specs really. All I really do understand is that the Q has a great XMax meaning what, more excursion which could yield more output (bass on the SPL side??)

Mark or anybody that can answer, I have an mj18 that recently got a hole knocked in the surround and the dust cap crushed in, the speaker still sounds good but I would like to fix these issues if possible. Can I resurround the mj and put a new dustcap on it? How much for the parts, we have resurrounded speakers before just not the MJ. Thanks!
