Looking for a new sub and wondering if my amp is too much power (birthed at 1420 watts)

I have a 1994 chevy suburban that i am gonna take out the third row seat looking at doing 4 of the killer 18" subs but i did my box work and came up with @ 14 cubes for 2 18" tuned to like 25hz the curve looks killer but i dont know how to add in the cabin gain... so i need help thanks guys i am trying to get this done for USACI FINALS since they are having them in my town this year

I am sure you guys get tired of answering these questions, but since I am a complete newbie when it comes to car audio, I would like some advice from experienced audio enthusiasts like yourselves. My system is going to be more SQ based than SPL, reason is I listen to as much, if not more, rock/alternative music than rap. I was leaning towards either 1 12", 1 10", or 2 10" subs. I want something that hits accurately and enhances my rock music, but will also sound good when I decide to play rap. Alright i've been looking on madisound and would like some opinions on these drivers. Seas CD18RE-MDS Seas ER18RNX Peerless nomex830875 Vifa M17SG09 These tweeters peerless HDS Seas 27TAFNC/G Seas 27TFFNC/G peerless DX25TG05 For 2-way active. I know the Seas ER18RNX and Peerless HDS tweeters make a good combo but would like to know what else would be a good combo.

Hello: I would greatly appreciate any input on securing or mounting my sub box to the rear trunk of my car (Mazda 3 Sedan). I found some references to using Velcro, L brackets etc., to secure the box to the trunk. Any other ideas or sugestions? Thank You! TSS

What do u recommend for SQ??? Will be in a sealed box with 7" max depth mount... Net vol. too factory rec.. Up firing under the back seat of my ext cab sierra.. I do NOT have a amp yet but would like to stick with any of the sundown amps... Like to keep it around or under $300 for one or two subs which ever sounds better. well after a 3 year hiatus of not having a SI Mag i'm back. i had an original claw basket 12. i just acquired a 15" new gen Mag and its going in a roadmaster wagon (huge space). and will power it with the mono side of a memphis big belle (1100w RMS) *****EDIT***** i wanted some expert opinion on the box plans i came up with....4.0 ft^3 @ 30hz total internal vol - 5.66 ft^3 (46.5"w x 12"h x 17.53"d) port area - 54 in^2 (18" x 3") port length - 37.31 in driver vol - .2 ft^3 .....what i don't know how to do is figure the port wall lengths. the sub will be firing up with the port up too. any help or advice is greatly appreciated. i'm stoked to be back with SI.

OK im building my box at 12 cu ft tuned to 31 hz. 41x20x30 roughly 192 sq in of port area...port back subs up. port going along the bottom width 39 inches wide and 5 inches tall with a kerfed port. i get a port length of 14.54 inches. correct or i done screwed up?

I want to get one of these matching passives for my tc10. Do they really live up to their hype? If any of you guys by chance happen to have have one and are interested in selling, I would love to take it off your hands!

Current set up is as follows: 2 AA Poly mids mounted in each door. WELL deadened. 80-2500Hz Vifa XT25 mounted about 12" above mids. HP around 2800Hz Xovers done via a Helix amp. I'm very happy with how it sounds, but you know how the upgrade bug is. I'm considering going 3 way with a dedicated midbass to replace one of the poly mids. Something like this: Peerless SLS 8" 60-250Hz Poly mid 250-2500Hz Vifa 2800+ I would also need to get an electronic xover and am not sure what yet as I haven't researched them. I'm looking for more punch/kick up front, mostly for 80's rock/metal, so lots of kick drums. But I don't want to lose the incredible midrange output for guitars, etc…

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the JL Audio Stealth Box or similar products. I am considering a stealth install in my 07 Tahoe, with this as the possible cornerstone of low frequencies. I am also considering Diamond d661s component with the silk vs the aluminum tweeter. I plan on using these in the factory locations 6.5 mids in the doors and tweeters in the A panels ie the factory locations. My cousin is telling me of some subs he is trying to get rid of. He dosent have any pictures of them but all he says is that they are competition subs and they have a red C on the cone. Now whether or not they are competition is totally speculation. But I just wanted to know which sub company uses a red "C" for their logo on subs? Thanks in advance ~MadroX

Yep, they're getting bigger. Keep in mind this is a prototype picture and the driver is subject to change still. We might keep the basket, and we are keeping and the motor at this point, but a few other cosmetic things are going to change. ...and I would post it but I can't attatch it, the image must be already hosted. I am wondering if I could power a pair at 4 ohms 1500 watts rms, I know the BM's rms is only 400 watts rms, but I am just wondering if this is at all possible if I am carefull with the gain and volume?

when are they going to be a stock item? and what are they going to sell for? aprox?

well i have a box for my clarion subs already fabbed up, but it looks like someone wants to buy them, so i was wondering if roughly 3 cubes at 29 hz, with power from a 1500d sundown will sound half decent or atleast better then the c-rons i have now? the box can not go any bigger with out not being able to get it in and out of my trunk. 2 15's at 3 cubes 7.8 cubes external box volume :S and it can be taken out with alot of work lol. oh and im looking at getting 2 if the total price of them shipped to canada is less then 1000 bucks lol.

what kinda of amp would u recommend putting on a 12'' mag? watts? need some help. i dont wanna under do it or over do it

ok so here's the deal i bought a treo ssx motor and 18 inch backet. it's blown. has anyone reconed an ssx with a different cone?? i'm looking into tc sounds cone right now (i already have it sourced and kind of priced, just need to measure and make sure it will fit) can anyone help me out? oh and the reason i don't want to send it to treo is it will cost $188 for them to do it plus shipping to them, and it's not exactly a light sub if you know what i mean

I am planning on working on my front stage to get ready for my system how does a $1000 budget sound for 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, amp wiring, head unit, and maybe even crossovers I may be able to pull a couple hundred more dollars but if this budget sounds too low then what am I looking at paying. I am hoping on saving money by just buying a good amp at a low price so what kind of amp would be good at about 60 watts x 6 at 4 ohms. I was looking at Boston components but only crutch field carries them and they dont have that great of a selection of them so what other brand is good I don't need attached tweeters I have a place for them on the doors.

Hay everyone...this kid i know wants 2 18's in his 04 explorer . I have been reading up on these and from what i read they are very nice . Anyway...how much port do these like . I'm thinking like 5-6 cubes each tuned to 35 hz...atleast 500 watts on each . He hasn't decided on amp yet . They are going to fire up and port up also . I tried to buy 2 Mj-18's from ssa and it said purchase failed. but when i get to my account and then to order history it says 2 mj-18's pending. does that mean theyre in my cart? or purchased?

Has anyone done a wall or anything with 4 mj 18's yet? im kinda curious if anyone has and what type of box they decided to go with. Figure with the 3 for 4 deal someone must have put 4 in a van or suv!
