Ok, let me start by saying I don't know chit about active, passive, crossovers, etc. I'm looking to get a new highs setup. I have a set of cadence components which I guess would be passive. I have a singlecab silverado so I was kinda thinking about losing the rear speakers completely and running just the front. Im guessing active would be the best way to go. What do I need to do this? I plan on getting 2 mli-65's to start and a good four-channel amp. The HU i have now is a pioneer premier DEH6800MP. From what i've read, I dont think this HU is that great when it comes to the audio settings. I'm debating on replacing the pioneer with an eclipse cd5000 but what do you g…

I am thinking about getting a couple of these and making my own component set...these are priced good and I like Mach5Audio. How efficient are these speakers??? Will they get loud on 50 watts??

Man....I took my wall out in Oct.... Lookin at the MJ18's makes me think about putting it back in and switching to a pair of 18's just from a cost standpoint....and low power stance....makes me think seriously about it... Wonder what I could make happen with a pair...hmm....i guess i'd have to use 4 just to get a halfway decent ohm load though.... wow..............you killing me.

I'm thinking about replicating the sub enclosure created by Jmelan over at DIY mobile audio for my 2002 4Runner. Does anyone foresee any difficulties or performance issues for the RL-i8 with this type of enclosure in a side-firing alignment? I wonder if a larger driver (Fi Q 10/12, ICON 10/12, RL-i10) wouldn't be in my best interests.

Hi, im new. LoL hooray for introductions. Anyhow, I currently have the following: 1 12" JL 12w3v2-d4 1 12" Alpine Swr-1242D 1 Kenwood KAC-7202 At this time, I love having both subs but can only hook one up at a time. I drive a GrandAm, and its a pain in the ass to try to fix any boxes between the wheel-wells. Ive only had success with one box so far, and that was the ThunderTC enclosure I had for my 5500's before I sold them. I have two seperate sealed boxes for each, and want to try to place them in both corners of my trunk, but wire them to the sub to provide the most bass possible. Either one works great in parallel, but when I do that and bridge it, the amp runs VERY …

I have a 1996 Taurus and I am limited on trunk space. I dont think I will be able to fit 2 Maw-15's in a 6cuft^3 enclosure in my trunk. So I was wondering what sounded better.... 2 Maw-15's in a Sealed Enclosure or 2 Maw-12's in a Ported Enclosure. Thanks in Advance ~MadroX

I'm getting a new Fit Sport and considering that its the premium sound i was just going to upgrade by intergrating a sub into it, problem is, i am picky. I dont want overpowering bass but i want to feel it, and it has to be clear. It will be a single sub setup of whatever size, since i have plenty of room *grand total of 41 cubes in the car* Have at this, i want to do it right on the first try this time.....

trying to make a decision but wanted some input from the SEAS whores from here to help aid in it. to W18E-001 (E018) 7" magnesium cone woofer or W18EX-001 (E017) 7" magnesium cone woofer, this is the question. building a 3 way front stage and have narrowed it down to these 2. any input to the sound difference would be appreciated, these will be in a door pod and can be sealed off from the other drivers obviously. looking for clarity here as this is being designed as an LSQ system. in advance all comments are appreciated guys and thanks

I'm happy with my current setup, but I think the imaging and midbass could be improved. Here is my current system: Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P5900iB Front Stage: JBL P650c comps (tweeter in sail panel, woofer in door panel) FS Amp: Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 (active) Subwoofer: SoundSplinter RL-i8 SS Amp: Sundown Audio SAX-100.2 (bridged @ 8 ohms) The tweeters are mostly on-axis, so I get very little front/center imaging. I was thinking about getting a set of Q-Logic kick panels for my 4Runner, moving the JBL comps there, and getting dedicated midbass drivers for the doors. Space in the doors is very limited; I originally bought Seas comps but they won't fit. The proposed p…

  21. I'm thinking about sending my blown 12" Adire Brahma MKIII to Scott over at Fi to get it reconed. Finding info on the MKIIIs is difficult. In fact, before Adire shut down, they had the MKIV in their current line up, and had a link to discontinued models. In that link, there's the Brahma MKI and MKII but nowhere was a MKIII mentioned. Anyway, according to my research, the MKI and MKII is rated at 1,600 Watts RMS, and the MKIII and MKIV is rated at 600 Watts RMS. I can't find anything explaining why there's a 1,000 Watt difference between the MKII and MKIIIs but I don't have a problem with that. I've also read that the a Brahma (I'm guessing MKI/II) can reach full excu…

My first subs that i owned were Rockford Fosgate p2's, i had them running with a Rockford Fosgate amp as well. I made the huge mistake like everyone else, and i decided to go through best buy about 2 years ago to get my subs etc.... Dont get me wrong, they have nice stuff, its decent, but not what im looking for right now. I have a 2004 Extended cab silverado, and i want to put two 12's under the back bench seat ( if possible ). If not, i might have to work with something else. I have heard a lot o…

Do I need two terminal cups for a DVC sub? Thanks Well, I might as well ask my other questions while I'm thinking about them. If I'm wiring a DVC in parallel, how do I connect the two terminals? Can I just twist the two wires together and run that end into one terminal, then the other end into the second terminal? And on that same subject, is it good/bad/ugly/no different to twist both ends of the speaker cable wires together, to make a bigger wire for each terminal? Hope that made sense.
