I'm looking into a 10 or 12" sub and I'm tryin to find a choice from the Fi/AA lineup. I want to run it sealed. I'm looking for great SQ with a good amount of output. I have UP TO 1500 watts available, but i can go as low as 300 watts. The Arsenal seems to be the one to look at from AA's lineup without breaking the bank. The Havoc seems to be a bit too much SPL oriented i think? From Fi's lineup, I'm strictly looking at the Q. So how does Arsenal compare with the Q. Is SQ the same with a little less output, or does the Q have better SQ? Thanks for the help.

Well, Im new here so why not annoy all the old timers with the question of what should I buy. The basics: 2006 Hyundai sonata - large trunk, around 16-17 cubes, partially deadened. I generally prefer sealed, although ported could work. I dont want to use more than 2 cubes, and preferably less. I am looking at quite a few different amps, but assume 600-1000 watts at a 2 ohm load. I would like to see 134 db. I am not dead set on any particular size, although I have considered two or three 10", or a pair of 12s, maybe a single 15. Would like to keep it under $250 usd for the sub. I have used elemental designs, alpine, kicker, and a couple other lesser brands but for various …

The other day when Mark and I were talking about his new model subs, he suggested he send me one of his new prototype drivers, the Mach 5 SPL 12. I got this sub in this weekend and had a chance to look over it and install it, and throw some real power at it (above 2.5kw, per his request). This will be Mach 5 audio's first real SPL dedicated subwoofer, and from what ive observed this weekend, I only wish they had them in 18's First off, here are the pictures of the driver. The first thing I noticed about this driver is the heafty weight of the assembly, it comes in at 54 lbs  The basket is a standard 12 spoke style, however its been machined and milled …

Ok, let me start by saying I don't know chit about active, passive, crossovers, etc. I'm looking to get a new highs setup. I have a set of cadence components which I guess would be passive. I have a singlecab silverado so I was kinda thinking about losing the rear speakers completely and running just the front. Im guessing active would be the best way to go. What do I need to do this? I plan on getting 2 mli-65's to start and a good four-channel amp. The HU i have now is a pioneer premier DEH6800MP. From what i've read, I dont think this HU is that great when it comes to the audio settings. I'm debating on replacing the pioneer with an eclipse cd5000 but what do you g…

I'm thinking about replicating the sub enclosure created by Jmelan over at DIY mobile audio for my 2002 4Runner. Does anyone foresee any difficulties or performance issues for the RL-i8 with this type of enclosure in a side-firing alignment? I wonder if a larger driver (Fi Q 10/12, ICON 10/12, RL-i10) wouldn't be in my best interests.

I've been thinking about changing my sub setup in my regular cab sonoma for a couple of months now. Currently I'm running 2 RE10s in a sealed box each powered off of one channel of a Hifonics zx4000. I've been throwing around the idea of putting 4 of the Tang Band 6.5s in there to gain some space back for me to be more comfortable, but I think I'd rather go with something much louder. Originally, I had an AA Atlas 12 behind my passenger seat, and I really liked the sound of it, but with its 6.5" mounting depth, the box i made for it made my passenger very uncomfortable. Like an idiot, i sold the Atlas and went to the RE10s. Well I'm wanting to get something similar t…

trying to make a decision but wanted some input from the SEAS whores from here to help aid in it. to W18E-001 (E018) 7" magnesium cone woofer or W18EX-001 (E017) 7" magnesium cone woofer, this is the question. building a 3 way front stage and have narrowed it down to these 2. any input to the sound difference would be appreciated, these will be in a door pod and can be sealed off from the other drivers obviously. looking for clarity here as this is being designed as an LSQ system. in advance all comments are appreciated guys and thanks

I'm getting a new Fit Sport and considering that its the premium sound i was just going to upgrade by intergrating a sub into it, problem is, i am picky. I dont want overpowering bass but i want to feel it, and it has to be clear. It will be a single sub setup of whatever size, since i have plenty of room *grand total of 41 cubes in the car* Have at this, i want to do it right on the first try this time.....

I have a 1996 Taurus and I am limited on trunk space. I dont think I will be able to fit 2 Maw-15's in a 6cuft^3 enclosure in my trunk. So I was wondering what sounded better.... 2 Maw-15's in a Sealed Enclosure or 2 Maw-12's in a Ported Enclosure. Thanks in Advance ~MadroX

Hi, im new. LoL hooray for introductions. Anyhow, I currently have the following: 1 12" JL 12w3v2-d4 1 12" Alpine Swr-1242D 1 Kenwood KAC-7202 At this time, I love having both subs but can only hook one up at a time. I drive a GrandAm, and its a pain in the ass to try to fix any boxes between the wheel-wells. Ive only had success with one box so far, and that was the ThunderTC enclosure I had for my 5500's before I sold them. I have two seperate sealed boxes for each, and want to try to place them in both corners of my trunk, but wire them to the sub to provide the most bass possible. Either one works great in parallel, but when I do that and bridge it, the amp runs VERY …

Hey, First of all let me say that i am new to this forum, and i have been doing as much reading as possible. This Forum is soooooooo helpful, props to whoevers in charge. My first subs that i owned were Rockford Fosgate p2's, i had them running with a Rockford Fosgate amp as well. I made the huge mistake like everyone else, and i decided to go through best buy about 2 years ago to get my subs etc.... Dont get me wrong, they have nice stuff, its decent, but not what im looking for right now. I have a 2004 Extended cab silverado, and i want to put two 12's under the back bench seat ( if possible ). If not, i might have to work with something else. I have heard a lot o…

Do I need two terminal cups for a DVC sub? Thanks Well, I might as well ask my other questions while I'm thinking about them. If I'm wiring a DVC in parallel, how do I connect the two terminals? Can I just twist the two wires together and run that end into one terminal, then the other end into the second terminal? And on that same subject, is it good/bad/ugly/no different to twist both ends of the speaker cable wires together, to make a bigger wire for each terminal? Hope that made sense.
