Subwoofers / Speakers

I have a pair of PPI Pro 124's that I am going to be running off a MB Quart DSC 1500.1. The thing I want to know is if anyone has experience with these subs, especially using a ported enclosure. I have heard that they can only be ran sealed so that is why I want to know if anyone ever did port them and how did they sound? Any input would be appreciated.

does anyone know where i can get drawings with dimensions of custom boxes for 2 15" nightshades?

Right now my box is set up with sub and port firing to the rear. I am considering cutting a hole in the top for the sub and plugging the rear hole to see what it does to the sound while keeping same box size and tuning. Due to box dimensions, the only way to do it would put the sub right at the port opening in the box. It's a typical slot port so it won't be blocking the port. I remember reading somewhere that it's not ideal to have the sub close to the port if you can help it. How big of a deal is it and how much would it affect what I am trying to do? Depending on what the sound difference is will be deciding on how I build my next box.

I just noticed the new Pioneer Stage 4 line on the Crutchfield website and they are very expensive for anything pioneer that i have seen. I have a Pioneer Premier headunit (cant remember exact model) and i love it, it has all the features i could ask for so that is so different about this new HU and the new speakers? According to pioneers website they are an audiophile grade set. does anyone have any experience with them and know if they are worth the money?

I want 4 sundown sa-12 but i want to eventually run 2 on one aq2200 and 2 on another aq2200 at 1Ohm each. Do i need 4 2Ohm DVC subs or 4 4Ohm DVC subs? Also is there any way i can run all 4 off of one aq2200d at 1Ohm until i get another one?

came across SSA today while shopping for some news subs. i have a kenwood excelon amp which pushes 600rms x1 at 2ohms and its 1ohm stable but with no power rating. i posted on crutchfield.com and by chance someone mensioned the ssa icon 12" that he heard. i dont think i have the power for that sub.... i listen to metal and atternative rock. so i goin for a sq or LSQ kind of set up. buget is $250 max. i build my own box and understand box construction. my old subs where 3 12" kicker comps (my first system so dont bash me about them. lol) just looking for something that will keep me satified for the next couple year while im at college. so this is basicly my only upgrade i…

What do you look for in an SQ sub? What t/s parameters and such makes a geat SQ sub. Now I know that SQ is subjective, but most companies make an SQ geared sub. As a buyer, what should we look for in this type of sub?

Thats right, my 15" SID2 does not have a logo, but fear not I bought it legit from Nick. I really wish it had a logo on it tho and all the stickers I get done from the local sticker shop sucks real bad. Is there any way I can ship the sub back to SI and get a logo put on the basket?

ok whell first of all i got a 2003 honda accord and i cannot decide wat kind of sub i want or amp . yea big problem but yea i just want one sub and it has to be a 12' but allso be able to pick up the low notes real real good. originally i was going to go with a Fi Btl and i 2600 hifonics amp but i started looking at other subs/amps but yea i just wanted to kno what other people would suggest to get ? and i rarely use the trunk so i dont care how much space is used, allso i want atleast 2000 watts.... so pls help me out and give me you're ideas, and thank you

i have 2 15" Sundown sa-15's in a 7 cuft box in a 1998 gmc jimmy. i'm running a hifonics hifi1500.1 amp. I've seen people with the same subs, same brand amp(but smaller) in very similar vehicles do much better hair tricks than i can achieve. Any suggestions on how to increase mine? I love to show off my subs and this is a fun way to do so!

Ive alwased had a pair of 12w6 and all my friends had 12w6. It is an amazing sub but i want something different. Has anyone have any experience with 12w6v2 and the new magnums? I want to switch to magnums but dont know if its a good choice. What are the pros and cons and reliability?

Alright i want a single 12" setup and was wondering which one you guys would prefer. Im more into to SPL so which one would be better for that.

well i got a alpine R type last year model 12" but there is a crackly sound coming from it when it hits it goes with the music but it crackles, if i called alpine could they do something about it? i bought it a week ago from ultimate electronics. but htey are all closed in texas.

So I have a JL Audio 10W3v3-2 and it was making a weird scratching noise. Completely random, would happen at any volume and would come and go with no real reason, sometimes it wouldn't do it for days, sometimes it would happen many times a day. I took it out of the box looking for some explanation and could see nothing, so it cut it open. The only thing that looked a little off was what looked like some corrosion on the coil itself. So now I have the motor and basket just laying around and it seems a shame to just toss it. Does anyone make a recone other than JL that will work??

i work with a guy that has of the kicker 15in.cmp subs that are sinle voice coil.and has them in a pro box. lookingfora decent amp to run these on?any of u guys give me a idea i can shoot him.sorry i dont have moe info on these subs!!

Yeah i broke two of them from hitting the bottom of my seat. i had so other 8s in the same box and had no problem but the sa-8s had more excursion than i expected. my fault!. do you think i would have the same issue with the sa10?? i know they move a good bit.. just trying to figure out an option thats gonna work for these...

Alright guys im wanting to change up a little bit here currently im running 1 18" in a 5^3 box(after displacement) on 3K. sounds great if i wanted to put up numbers, but lows arent where i want them and tuning lower wont be the best option because i really cant use this setup in my car anyway, do to weight of extra batts and sub its self, vehicle is lowered and going on 20s. So what i want to know is which would do better in 3.5 to 5.0 cubes tuned to around 25-28hz. (3) SSA Dcons 10"s or (3) IA 187s 10"s ? I have a 2012 tracker fishing boat. I would like to put a very small and simple system into it. No subs probably just left and right. Amped. Bluetooth deck. Location for the speakers will be lower on the left and right side of the boat. There is actually storage boxes on both sides that run the length of the boat back. Obviously way more air space than what will be needed but they are something that stays closed. That's where speakers will more than likely go. i know everything is install related, but i want to try to get a general consensus i asked this question on another forum as well subs are DC lvl 3 as far as output, im quite sure i would be happy with either setup. my buddy has 2 12" type r's sealed up and they are loud enough for me (but louder still is better) my goal then is to hit as low as possible with these subs (i listen to rap, so the lowest i would need to think about would be like in "put on": ~25hz) i typically set my crossover around 65-70hz, so anything above that im not worried about currently front is stock, but will be upgraded soon; looking at rainbow and hertz right now.... 12's ported, box hopefully e…
