http://our6thplanet.com/garage.php?mode=vi...amp;image_id=92 Nothing much to look at, just 5.5" ID sonotube, 10" long. Should give me a 40hz tuning frequency for each sub. It feels louder, and there's another SPL comp on the May 6th weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to meter it then

ive got boston pro60's for the front. im was thinkin, maybe a set of those 6x9 tang band "subs" for the rear, but when i eventually put in my 12" xxx, i probably wouldnt even be able to tell the tang bands are there. should i do coaxial's in the rear? whats a decent set of 6x9s if so?

I have a pair of coaxial speakers JL vr5.25" and I was wondering if I could add another set of tweeters on top of the coaxials... might be a stupid question but I was curious because the coaxials are installed fairly low on the door of my 2004 mustang. I should've got separates to begin with but I'm curious if I can get away with just adding tweeters. Thanks.

So I got bored and took my Orb Audio sub out of its' enclosure and noticed holes in the cone down by the spider. Why is this? Iv'e never seen it before or heard of doing this. Anyway, Here are some pics of this little bad boy. It's not a bad sub for an 8". It acts more like a 10" or 12". I wish the extension was a bit lower but this is just my game room setup. Here it is next to my AA assasin that I've still yet to install. Not sure IF I want to build an enclosure for two of these in the game room or put them in my wife's car. Decisions...decisions!!!!!

Well, there's a lot of interest in the car audio world for the Mach 5 drivers, however, I'm looking at a home audio application. There have been a few instances of the drivers being used for HT, but I thought I'd start a thread where more discussion could be done for home audio and SQ(L) oriented installations. This summer, once I've acquired some money at my summer job, I'm thinking about buying 2 MAW-15s to put in my room to replace my 12" AA Assassin (that's if my parents let me...). Anyway, I've done some fiddling in WinISD, measuring spots in my room to put them, and some comparisons on what I like about my Assassin and what I don't. What I'm looking at right now is …

I will be building my own box for the subwoofer, however, I would like to know which subwoofer would work best with the amp I have. Infinity Reference 611A 456 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (657 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms) Which do you guys think I should go with? I know that a larger box will require the subwoofer to take less power, so, in addition to which subwoofer you think I should go with, what box dimensions should I use? I've heard only good about Mach5 subwoofers, so I want to have my very own

I just built a 4th order BP box for a Panasonic 10" woofer, and it sounds terrible. Not "bandpass" bad, just designed wrong. The frequency response is WAY off. Here is what I have: Panasonic 10" t/s Vas: 42 L Fs: 30.0 Hz Qts: 0.37 I input that into the calculator on carstereo.com and came up with: Volume front = .397 ft^3 Volume rear = .533 ft^3 Fb (front side) = 58.3 Hz Frequency response ~ 35-90 Hz Added sub displacement and port displacement to the front and rear volumes and built the box. Due to the small area, I could only get a 3" port into the enclosure. Maybe that is too small? Calculated a 3" x 12" long port. Anybody tell me what to do different????? Thanks! …

Ive already purchased 1 of 4. Im about to buy the rest when i get the money. Im powering them with a solid audio 2500d, they are dual 4's so it will throw me in .5 ohm, which is pushing around 3kw for me. Question im having is, what size should i make the enclosure. Many have told me to do 5 cubes. Im limited on space, but i want pure SPL, i SQ just isnt my thing, i want numbers only. What would you guys suggest?

I have a mag 12 now in 2.0 cubes at 32. I am trading for a 15, but not sure if I want it ported due to the size requirements. I have heard both sealed and ported 12's and liked both. If I seal the 15 I know it will get lower, but will i lose a lot of output over the ported 12. Both getting 1100 watts from my memphis 1000d. Its in the trunk of a Grand Prix. I listen to everything form Metal to some rap

Where can I find a plate amp for a subwoofer for less than $100? I've tried Parts Express but they only have a 25 watt one in stock. Here is my situation, so please help. My friend has two 10" sony subs that we are using for a cheap build project. They are both SVC and 4 ohm. Is there any way that we can hook both of them up to one plate amp? If so, how? We were looking at buying two plate amps, one for each driver, and doing things that way. Will a 25 watt per channel amp be good enough for a sealed design? We want to keep the total cost as low as possible. Thanks.
