This is my first install in a four door sedan. So sorry for the noob question I will be using a single 15 in a ported enclosure in my trunk. My question is, will I have a better/louder low end if I have my sub pointed towards the rear hatch or if it is pointed towards the rear seat? BTW there is about 10"-12" separating the enclosure and rear hatch. Thanks!

  3. Ok I bought an rd sonance last year for my girls car. I didn't install it for 3 4 weeks after recieving it. After maybe a week of playtime it started cutting out and if I pushed on the cone it'd start back up so I figured it was a bad tinsel lead. Then one side of the coil died off completely so I ran it on one coil for awhile and it was fine until we decided to introduce it to a wall socket lol. Now I have a rd super paper weight lol.. Is it worth a recone or should I just sell the motor n basket if possible?

How do these compare to a kicker 12" cvr? I am looking at getting a sundown sae-1200d to drive 2 12" dc level 3s. Currently I am running a kicker zx400.1 driving a 12" kicker cvr.

Hello All: This is my first venture into subwoofers and am hoping to build a Mach MAW-15 sub for Home Theater purposes. I have a prefab sealed cabinet with an internal volume of 2.5 cu. ft. I hope to drive it with a Parts Express SA240 or 240 watt plate amp. As the MAW-15 is rated at 500W RMS whereas with only 240w AMP - Is this power be sufficient to push the MAW-15 for Ht purposes. I humbly request your advice if I am on the right track in purchasing this driver. Keep up the gr8 product line! Kudos! Thank You! TSS

I have existing mid-bass speakers in my car's front doors and I want to reuse the space without modifying the doors. The existing speakers are 160mm units. I doubt I could modify my doors and have a result that looks acceptable. The MLI-65s will almost fit. The depth is tight but will work. The problem is that the mounting flange is too large for the door panel. If I use the MLI-65 I will need to cut 5mm off of one side of the speaker's mounting flange to provide enough clearance to mount the door panel. It looks like there is a bit more than 6mm of flange width where the mounting holes are drilled through the flange. Does anyone have any advice or experience to sha…

Hey my friend just bought 2 pbx's like 2 months ago, running of an orion 1200watt amp, anyways they were made in 04 at least thats what the sticker says, one of the just stopped working, like today i was putting some damplifier in his truck and i wanted to see his subs and it sounded funny to me, ussualy you can't even tell well the one sub sounded as if you had a piece of plastic infront of it, i think it was just the wires inside the box could be wrong tho, also i noticed one of his subs wasnt hitting at all... took it out sure enough wire'd it at 1ohm and got nothing out of it.... is there any type of warranty on these, or would he be better off just taking it back to …

Thinking of getting 2 sets of Diamond Audio's s600s (6.5" comp with the silk tweet). How is the mid bass and how well does this set take that 170rms rating? Looking to keep up with 2-BTL12s. One set in the doors and the other in the kicks. Both pairs of woofers would be sealed in its own glassed enclosure just big enough to fit the woofer.

Hey guys, seeking some good advice here. First let me say there is not much to choose from in my area except the usual mainstream brands in the nice wall displays. I have Infinity home floor speakers (cant recall model right now), and 2 Infinity 12" Entra Sub two's and I have been pretty pleased with them, so I went and bought some refrence 6.5 coaxial and a set of refrence 6.5 seperates for the Yukon doors. I bought them mainly because I like my Infinity home set up, and the fact they are both 2ohm so they wouldnt require any special wireing to get the most out of my amp. Well that turned out to be a bad idea. The amp I am using for mids/highs is the Rockford Fosgate 45…

Ok I have been very curious about PPI since DEI came around, I know very little about the amplifers, and even less about their new subs, so to start with I was wondering about the DCX subs, I talked to Shane a little and he suspected that these are very similar to the Orion H2, just some different internals and soft parts, possibily some motor (DGM), the thing is that the rattings for power specs are lower than the H2, so that could justify the different parts, anyone know anything about this sub?

So here is the deal. I am on my way to the goal of $900 for the zcon's. Got $650 now. Yay. Question is what ohms should I get? 2 or 1? I have a saz2500z, and I'm using the same box I have now. 4.75^3 @33hz I think. Have to double check. Have a mechman 270 alt, big 3 in 0 gauge, and am gettin a battery as soon as I get the subs. Goal is to be "loud and proud". Lol. That's what my dear friend use to say before he passed. I wanna hit like no one else has around here. That's the ultimate goal!

  23. New to site and need some help with sub choice. I just bought a '08 Silverado Crew Cab with a SubThump single 12" sealed box and currently has a Kenwood KFC-W3012 in it and I am definitely not happy with it. I have a hair less than 6.75" of mounting depth and .95 air space before sub and it doesnt have any filler but could get some if need be. To power it i have a 600w Infinity Ref mono block. I also have ID CTX65 Components and a Pioneer 4200dvd deck and listen to everything....I would say rock and rap more than anything else. I am more into SQ but want something that can hit low and fast and sound great doing it. Budget wise I would like to stay under $300. So.....wh…
