I had planned on getting the edi 6500 comps and a nine.2, but I decided at this point I should save up some money for my next car then get whatever I want. In the meantime though my stock speakers are NOT cutting it. They are the cheap stock ones that come with a 98 jeep grand cherokee. Are there any cheap coaxials that I can just run off my h/u but will still sound half decent? I just saw these powerbass ones on ebay and I'm thinking might be alright. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...5762139690&rd=1 My friend has the comp version of these which he paid 160 for (dumb*ss lol) and they are decent for the price. Any other sub $50 coaxials you can think of that will …

I'm just wondering what you guys do to have you're front stage keep up with your bass, cause I have Infinity 6x8 componets and the midrange is just not there when I got my bass on full tilt. So does everyone just get a custom door panel made and put a bunch of speakers in there or is there some speakers that can handle a lot of wattage or what? Maybe infinity perfects would be better I don't know I just want some really loud treble and midrange to keep up with 2 15's right behind me head

My take on the "Super Subs" from mostly first hand experince. RE XXX - Loudest LSQ sub when given the power is needs, Very good SQ. If you can fit a larger box over 3.5 cubes and can give it 2k watts its the best bet. If you have about 1k watts or less I would go with the brahma which will get just as loud and sound a tad better. Under $400 shipped which is a good value. Largest of the bunch also, takes a stong person to lift a 15 lol. Adire Brahma - Best SQ/LSQ of the 3. With 1k watts its just as loud as a XXX. Nice due to the fact it can work very well in a huge range of boxes. Adire also invented the technolgy used in the H2, some other dei crap, XXX and some others(XB…

so to my suprise my 12" d2 came in the mail today. It was scheduled to show up on tuesday. (Thank you FedEx!) anyways i wired it all up, my jbl 1200 at 4 ohms, so 600 watts, just to see how it does and play around with it. sealed box, 1.6 cubes after displacements. well wow, this sub is very very accurate. its so quick. and its suprisingly loud off just 600 watts. i cant wait till i wire my jbl up to 1200 watts which will be in a day or two. Pics will be up tonight as i dont know where my sister is and she has my cam. side note - i didnt hear any ticking noise for most music, but i played a bass song that plays low to high notes and it seemed i heard a kind of rattl…

One of my friends has 2 Pioneer TS-W307D4s in a regular ole cheap ported box on a Kenwood 1800 watt amp and it actually gets pretty loud...in the 140s if he turns it all the way up and it doesnt sound bad either. For the price ($50-$70) they are actually a very good deal. Any ever heard these or the step up Pioneer Premier subs?

So I think this has been asked before but I'm not sure my search worked well enough just found 4sale stuff with it mentioned... My Xcon was in extra awesome condition.... Found out that today my father was moving stuff in their garage and boom he calls me to say he thinks he hit it with a piece of plywood he was moving ... There is now a puncture/tear about 1/3 of an inch maybe less.... What can I use to fix it/glue it? I know I don't want to "melt" the surround material with normal glue but what should I be using? The subwoofer won't see any action for a while so cure time is no issue..... Let me know.. Sad that this fcking subwoofer was sitting in that garage 8…

So I just finished up my box today, upon installing the subs in the box I slipped with the drill and punctured the surround. It's a decent sized slit, maybe 3/4 to an inch; it runs diagonal. The subs are Fi SSDs with foam surrounds. I've been searching google for a bit now for the best advesive to use and keep seeing amazing goop and rtv silicone being suggested. Which is better? Would some type of epoxy work? And should I put a piece of fabric or duct tape on the back the slit, with whichever adhesive/ sealer?

Hey guys, A thought has hit me as I look through the forums, and I was wondering if anybody could give me their opinion on this matter. Ok, so why when somebody decides to focus on the "Front stage", do they only focus on the front two doors? I understand that the driver is up front, so maybe that is the primary reason for this. When I look at a install, I would see anywhere from two to eight door speakers but only in the front two doors. I don't understand why isn't it kept to the equal amount of speakers that are in the back two doors, or for cars, the back deck? To me, if I was to put 3 door speakers up front, I would put 3 door speakers in the back as well. I underst…

Soon I will be getting an SUV, and I need some ideas. I want some loud bass thats impressive but not like competition grade i guess. My idea for a setup is Enclosure: http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/ported-dual-12-subwoofer-enclosure.html Amp: my current amp, 1700 rms at 1ohm. Subs: maybe 2 SA-12s wired to 1ohm. I was wondering if maybe 2 Gcons or Icons would be better in that box, or maybe two sealed SA-15s in a different box. Or one sick 18 sealed, just help me out here. Im trying to save space and dont want a huge box. Just send me some ideas please. I just want the most bass for my space, and money.

Last year I traded locally with this guy for a 12w4. The sub is in my 2006 Chevy single cab truck. Box is roughly 2 cubic feet slot ported tuned at 32hz. The sub sounds perfect for the enclosure. Very very good and accurate sound. My only problem is that it's being pushed by a RF Amp with a birth sheet of 926 rms watts. Definite overkill for the sub. So I've turned it way down. Even at that, if I crank it at the deck and certain frequencies the sub sounds like it's being crunched. So I've thought about swapping the sub for a higher wattage subs. A JL W 6 looks to be to deep for the setup. So I checked around and it appears Kicker makes the CVX with very simila…

I'm wanting to know what would be the best interior speakers to swap out with my current stock ones. I have 3 different sets in my Lesabre. Dash is 4x6. Front door speaker size is 5 1/4 and the rear deck has 6x9s in it. What would anyone recommend me running? This way I don't have to do any cutting anywhere just yet. And also what kind of amp would be recommended to run these speakers off of? Appreciate everyones input and comments.

A 33w 16h 18.5d space for an enclosure a 1995 accord coupe a sundown 1500 for power i listen to classic rock and rap. i have approximately a $500 budget for two woofers. spl is my goal, but i do not want a fart box. i want loud low music nothing more. couple of woofers i was thinking about: IA DR 12d1 fi Q d1 ssa icon d1 PAP WMD 12d1 (they're so cheap!) im running a RE sx 15d2 that has been reconed by fi with some cooling and suspension upgrades. i'm open to suggestions on woofers and box designs, what port size, length and orientation especially.

Well i got my two treo ssi 15's running off a us amp 2000. i previously had two powerbass xs 15's. i put them in my powerbass box, which was close enough to specs. i'm pretty impressed. with the treo's weighing in at what seems to be half the pbx's. they pack one hell of a punch. and i'm willing to say they are about 5 decibles louder. i'll get it tested this week to further persue my conclusion. great sound quality. and you can feel alot more air flow in my explorer. cheers. i'm now sellin my pbx's to a friend of mine.

I did a quick search and it seems like an XCON in a sealed box is acceptable but curious to hear some additional opinions and or suggestions for a new setup in my New Jeep. I have had my 12" XCON powered by a Rockford T1500 running at 4ohms in a large ported box (forget dimensions) and it's been great for years. I'm looking to put a new system in my Jeep Grand Cherokee but I don't want the huge box in the back exposed. So I'm leaning towards a sealed setup. I could switch it up all together but I'd prefer to use the gear I already have. Opinons? Box design suggestions? Anyone else have a Jeep GC?

To make a long story short, since I started installing, I have been playing around with a few idea, and I am going to switch up my front stage. I currently have a set of JL XR5x7 coaxial speakers running off a Rockford 800a2 (Way overkill of an amp for a front stage but it leaves a lot of headroom). My buddy is selling off his set of Adire Kodas and I am thinking that would be a good route to go. The plan is to run the Kodas Passive off the Rockford amp and sound deaden my doors. I am thinking of going with some new type of deadener of the outer door skin called Black Hole and Dynamat on the inner door skin and seal everything off. The only problem is there are no g…

I know these subs are designed more for SPL, but which of these subs has better SQ? Which can get louder and move more air? Thanks for any advice.
