2 maw 15s on the way.. time to design the box.. im building a ported wedge style box.. how deep are these subs? (measurements inside box) Option A Height:15.5 Width:32.5 Depth(top):16.5 Depth(bottom):26.5 total cu ft:6.26 Option B Height:15.5 Width:32.5 Depth(top):17 Depth(bottom):27 total cu ft:6.41 how many cu ft will i need for bracing? opinions on which box i should use?

Looking to upgrade front stage with some new components. I have it narrowed down to two: SA-6.5CS, or Focal 165A1-SG. Have heard nothing but good things about both brands but have no personal experience with either. Any feed back? I know Focal makes an awesome product but is their lower end line as impressive as their expensive stuff? I'm looking for something that will sound good playing a variety of music. Will one be more versitile than the other? Or am I better off just flipping a coin?

How do these compare SQ and SPL wise?? I'm waiting to hear from a guy about a used RL-i 12" but also there's a local Treo dealer who said he'd sell me a TSX 12"D2 for $150 new w/3 yr warranty. It seems the 2 are fairly close in rms power, the SS being from 300-500 rms (I think) and the Treo being around 400rms (claimed it's underrated)... I imagine that both have more than adequate sound quality, but what about output? Any experience w/the Treo line? The dealer mentioned how the Treo is a 'unique design that makes it louder than it should be', take that for what you will. I'm limited on power (~300-400w rms) so I just want to make the most of what I buy and have some…

Does anybody know if the 302's crossover can stand up to being mounted in the door? They will not be exposed to water or whatnot, but will they survive the opening and closing of the door on a daily basis? Just kinda had a thought about how to install them.

I currently have a 1974 dodge charger. it only has one speaker in the front. And some crapily installed rear 6x9's I'll be fixing later. But for now. I'm doing an install of a center console I've built with an aftermarket head unit. Not wanting to cut anything up. I'm going to stick with the one front speaker for right now. Then build something to house 2 smaller speakers displaying the sound out the hole for the one that was there before. But for now. I"m sticking with the one. ok so im starting to think that i should move up into class street b, just because there is more competition aorund here for that and im sick of not competing against anyone (that is except like a single 12" type r), so right now i have 1 12" fi audio bl in the trunk of a cavalier, tuned to 34 hz on 1800 wrms. what i want to do is be very competitive in street b for db drag. however i really want it to be a ground pounder and hit those lows, so i was thinking a 28-30 tune for daily and a 40-42 hz tune for comps. but what i really want to know is which ten inch subs should i go with? the ones that pop into my head are fi bl, fi q, dc sumthing, or audio que hdc3. i dont…

So I have been rebuilding my system over the past month and have had the subs in and out of the enclosure testing the fit and where I need to go to move forward. I noticed today that the top slug, AA Havoc 12", is mis aligned roughly a 16th of an inch from the others. The coil isn't rubbing anywhere within normal stroke, but I am concerned about this causing issues later after they are installed. Here is a pic. Do you think I should just send it back and have it repaired? Will it be ok? Will it effect performance? I have never had this happen before, so any help would be appreciated. Chris

I am planning a new build and I want to run an active 3-way set up. I'm new to the whole active thing but have been told by more than a few people that building my own 3-way is the way to go. My available power is 50x2 rms for the tweeters 100x2 rms for the mids 200x2 rms for the midbass I am at a loss when it comes to choosing raw drivers. Any recomendations? Also will the fact that my amps are not made by the same manufacturer affect the sound?Or would I have to be superman to hear a difference?

Does the CDT Eurosport 07 component set live up to the hype. The retail on the 3-way component set is crazy. I'm debating getting me a set of these or if I should stick to Sea's Reference, Dynaudio, or Focal. I'm looking for a serious front stage (3-way fully active) and wonder how these CDT's Euro's compare the the above mentioned. I listen to jazz, blues, rock, and rap. I currently run a set of Boston Pro 6.5's and I think they sound very nice so how will these CDT's rank up? Thanks for all opinions.

Well, I currently have two TC-7's being pushed by a RF 1000-1db. They are in a ported box, which I don't know the tuning of, but each chamber (to rec. specs) has a 13'' long 3'' wide precision port. I am thinking about getting a single Fi, so I can retain loudness, but gain quality. But then again, do you think I would be best off sealing my subs? I listen to mainly rap, but I want more quality then I currently have. I drive a 2002 honda civic si hatchback, so it is a TINY car, and gets loud easy.

Alright guys i have a 99 monte carlo and the factory speaker size is 5.25" but i found very nice 6.5 speakers Image Dynamics CTX65CS i think for the price they are unbeatable but heres my questions is there any easy way to fit those into my car without any custom fabrication? got an better audio 1600m1 would the 12's handle the power or should I get the 15's gonna run them at 1 ohm

I'm trying to design a center port enclosure and the port is confusing the hell out of me. I am assuming I am going to have bends in the port.. So would that change my # of common port walls to 3? Also, when measuring port length, do I measure down the center of the port, or divide it in half and measure the centers of the two halves? Any and all help is much appreciated.

I have a infinity amp that puts out 600 rms at 2 ohms. I want an 18 inch sub in a ported box which i will be building. I only have enough money to get the mj 18 4 ohm. i have a set of bravox carbon fiber comps and a set of coaxials i was thinking bout grabbing another pair of coax's and putting them up front with my comps. i can mount midbass in door and tweeter on a pillar or in kickpod with coax or coax in the door and comp set in the kick panel. I have a ssa 15" xcon in a 4.0CF box tuned to 29hz in the back of my wagon. Its hooked up to a hifonics 1610d amp which is rated at 1600rms at 1-ohm at 14.4v. I want any advice for adjusting this so my sub stops bottoming out on deep songs like bass i love you. I have tried the sub-bass filter but if i turn it up anymore those deep songs lose the deep bass that it can hit fine without bottoming out. its those notes below 25hz that bottom it out, but the sub-bass filter only has a 12db slope and it lets to much in. So what do I do? I don't want to wreck my xcon.
