  1. I got my fiberglass box done sorta. It is done to the point that I can get an internal volume. I packed about 15 gallons of packing peanuts in there. That gives me roughly 2 cubic feet. I know peanuts are not the most accurate, but that seemed like the easiest way. So anywho, I have about 1200w to throw at a Magnum that I am gonna get. Should I go ahead and put something in there to take up some space or let it ride and see how it goes? Then make it smaller if need be? Do you trust the peanut method? I don't want to buy a bunch of sand and then have to vacuum it out. What do you guys think? Thanks - Jim

Alright folks my friends 200 watt fender bassman with a single 15. is extremly louder than his 2400 watt power amp running 4 15's. i think the poblem is in the amp the amp runs 2x1200 watts at 4 ohm. and the speakers run at 1200x2 at 8ohm. so i tried to run the amp mono to one speaker 2400watts at 4ohm to a 1200watt 8ohm speaker, that made it worse they didnt even get louder than a voice. the amp should be able to turn all the way up but it starts to blink the "im about to blow up light" at about half volume. what is his problem? help help help help help

  5. Hello everyone. I am looking to get your guys advice and see what kind of suggestions you have on subs. Right now I have a Phoenix Gold 500.2 Amp benched at 530 watts. I was running 2 12" Image Dynamic ID's. 4 Ohm. I am running just a standard box that was sold to me where I bought the subs. Unfortunately, I have blown both of the 12" ID's. I am not sure how because I never turn the Amp all the way up and never mess with the settings on my head unit. Maybe just cause they are 3 years old. I am wondering if you guys think I should go with 1 high quality 12" sub or just go with 2 12" subs again. I am not really looking to be super loud. I just want something that so…

I've decided on a FI SSD 10" for my sealed application. Will be running two of them off an AD2200d. Trying to decide whether or not the cooling option is necessary. I'v decided non of the other options are really necessary but would appreciate input if someone thinks I'm mistaken. Daily driver, not super loud all the time but I like to rock out when I feel the need. Thoughts?

ive got a 1991 Corolla SR5 (which is a 2 door car) it has a fairly small trunk but im sure its enough for 1 12 ported or 1 15 sealed... im planning on purchasing a new D2 soon and wasnt sure what i should get... ive been thinking and researching for 2 weeks and i know this is a GREAT sounding driver (heard a 12 sealed in a friends car) my only dilemma is can the 12 OR 15 take power from a us amps 1100T that puts out roughly 1100@ 12v? im not sure what the rms is at my running voltage (almost 14)

I am looking to build a DIY 6.5 component set to set up in my car after I deaden the doors. I was thinking of using the Mli-65 mid but wasn't sure on the tweeter maybe these tang bands http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-840 My real question was, regardless of components I pick, what is the best way to cross them over? I have a HPF option on the JVC HU at 55hz, 85hz, and 125hz, then my alpine amp has a HP/LP filter from 50-400hz.

ok i know ive bugged a few of you guys enough but before i go and drop 2000+ on a new system i want to make sure im getting something that will most defiantly be the loudest chit on the block. I am leaning way towards 2 18" btls fully loaded running off a RF t40001bd. what would you guys go with that will still maintain a decent sq and pick up lows fully without distortions.

  17. Hi all, As per my newbies post, I've been hanging around for some time, and have now registered to enjoy the full support and knowledge of the SSA members! The sub and box size are not optional here, that's all I have to play with. For power I have 1400 @ 1 Ohm, 625 @ 2 Ohms or 312 @ 4 Ohms. I was dead set on an Audiopulse EPIC 8, but have not been able to find one for love or money! So now I have a real dilemma... simply put, which sub should I buy? I am looking ultimately for SQ, but do want it to get loud whilst retaining that SQ. I have looked at the SoundSplinter, TREO SSi, MA Audio, Elemental Designs, Digital Designs, Image Dynamics, Eclipse and RE to name but a few…

I am looking at doing a blowthrough in my truck (yeah I know...its going to be expensive and a lot of work.) I'm not sure on the subs I want to run yet though. I'm looking at either 2 BTL's or 2 RD audio Alpha V.2. The sizes I'm looking at are either 18s or 15s. I want it to be loud at low hertz but I also want it to HIT hard and not just be loud with no punch to the bass. I have 4 Crossfire VR-1000D amps (putting out probably right at 4000 watts but will be more with the Big 3 and more batterys). which would fit what i'm looking for better?

  20. alright, system consists of pioneer premier DEH-600UB, hifonics BXi1208D pushing 3 ppi PCX102's in 3.5 cubes at 35Hz (when I build the box, lol), no rear speakers I am going to get a small 2ch amp for the front speakers and disable the internal amp in the HU, but if I buy comps, the doors will not be deadened right away, and will probably only be some ~75 dollar comps like some alpine type s, phoenix gold, etc... and the amp will only be giving them anywhere from 60-100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. coax's would be mounted in doors as would the midbass and tweets would go on the door panels right by the dash. should I just get coax's and amp them right away? get comps an…

  25. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Elemental Designs 15" SPv.2's. I'm unsure of what box to put it in. I have it slapped in an old box and it's about 3.05cf@32hz with 36sq inch slot. On icix I've heard anywhere between 3-6cf and anywhere between 22 and 40hz. The only specs I know is the RMS is 1200w and it has 28mm xmax. Think the FS is 26hz? It uses a TC9 motor and standard 12 spoke basket. I contacted ED and they told me they never released the T/S for the sub, and that's some BS! I'm looking for some LSQ, hit hard around 30hz and not sound out of beat on rock, but loud on rap. I was recommended 50-55sq inch port, but that seems as if it wo…
