now i've heard that tweeters are very tempermental. i've heard stories of them conestantly blowing due to WAY to much power.... now upon thinking you could just hook up a crossover and restrict the power? right? also with the current engineering of the 6.5's and 6x9's is it even worth it to put in 2 or even 4 tweeters? (two in the front pillars, two by backseat passangers head). also the V-MAX cerwin vega seem like a good deal for about 50$ you get the 2 tweets and a crossover or in that case is it better to go with a higher end tweet system (if one is needed at all) and spend the extra 40$ per pair? my current system (after getting some things) 2 alpine type S 6x9's in t…

Does anybody have any experience with this subwoofer? I managed to pick one of these up on craigslist and couldn't find much information on it other than that it is SSA. It is VERY heavy and seems bigger and stiffer than my HDC3 18. I plan on building a new box for it since the one it came with seems small. I bought this because I wanted to put the HDC3 in a car application but most advised it would not fit with the space I had.

Factory recommendations: Acceptable: 0.4 - 0.95 cu ft net volume sealed 0.3 - 1.2 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 22 - 36 Hz Optimal Car: 0.65 cu ft net volume sealed 0.45 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 27 Hz I notice that the optimal vented box is smaller than the optimal sealed. I was thinking going sealed b/c of space issues but if going ported will really be smaller should I do this. Im also thinking aero ports and need some information on how to calculate what size I would need to tune to 27 hz. Does anyone own an rl-i if so what kind of box is it in?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Elemental Designs 15" SPv.2's. I'm unsure of what box to put it in. I have it slapped in an old box and it's about 3.05cf@32hz with 36sq inch slot. On icix I've heard anywhere between 3-6cf and anywhere between 22 and 40hz. The only specs I know is the RMS is 1200w and it has 28mm xmax. Think the FS is 26hz? It uses a TC9 motor and standard 12 spoke basket. I contacted ED and they told me they never released the T/S for the sub, and that's some BS! I'm looking for some LSQ, hit hard around 30hz and not sound out of beat on rock, but loud on rap. I noticed that the BL differs between the two options on Fi's website. Do they perform the same? I see that they are almost exact in sensitivity. How does this work if the motors are different strengths (different BL's)??

Well earlier this year i had a crossfire vr2000@1ohm around 3kw on a dd 9515g in a Pete K. designed t-line. I really like the output through a broad range of frequencies, and plan to do another t-line setup. However i think i could have made a better choice for woofers I have a 2006 nissan frontier (the bigger ones), have quite a bit of room if neccessary. Undecided on an amp to power it but will be at least 3kw with proper alt and batts. I have installed two sets of PG RSD6.5 comps with 100 watts per channel still running passive for now. i think the two sets of comps ran active would almost keep up with the system i have in mind. I want to run my ma audio SY7011DX amps as master/slave to 2 21" Incriminator Death Penalties ( which my ohm meter says are 1.5 each coil) Will they handle it?

On the website under enclosure recommendations it says optimal for ported it says 1.5^ft and then the free enclosure designs it shows the optimal one is 1.35^ft. Sooo whats actually recommended?

I dont know how comparable these drivers are but if you had the choice what would you pick and why. What is the SQ like, how loud, how low all of those good things. It would be on 1000RMS.

Hello, I have a friend that just had his sub and amp removed in a unfriendly way from his 2000 Toyota Tundra access cab. He is thinking about putting a new one back in but not visible this time. he was told by a local shop they had a console that could replace his that would have a ten in it. they would of course rape him on the price of that and the install price. I looked around and so far can only find a dual eight under the back seat box. Does anyone have ideas what could work or any other suggestions. He is not proficient with fiberglass or installing.
