Subwoofers / Speakers

Question. I want to try out the XXX mids, they are 2ohm. I was going to use my CDT crossovers and tweets. They are 4ohm. Whats that gonna be on my amp? Is that even possible? I have 150-160rms@4ohm, but I have over 240@2ohm. I think that it would be a little too much for the set. What do you guys think?

Ok maybe I am making a mistake thinking I'm going to be able to run a good active crossover system on my first system ever. I'll start out with what I do know, if I get a good enough head unit I can run active straight off of it, I don't need anything better than that for now. Also I know that I have room for 6.5" speakers in the doors and 1" tweets in the A pillars. But what is the difference between a 2 way and 3 way speaker? Also I have pretty much no way to go listen to quality speakers unless I want to drive about 3 hours to the only decent car audio store around. Does anybody know if the 302's crossover can stand up to being mounted in the door? They will not be exposed to water or whatnot, but will they survive the opening and closing of the door on a daily basis? Just kinda had a thought about how to install them.

Im looking for all m5a subwoofer specs (sead/vented) on all there subs we arnt too sure what to go with yet but need to know volume (and yes im kinda noob at this) were would i find more info on bandpass's and these subs? thanks for any help

I am dying to buy these lil' monsters , i have a large trunk (chrysler 300) and am wanting an optimal vented box for these bad boys, can a pro or guru chime in and offer any suggestions or tuning freq. suggestions,an box size, i plan on running probably a sundown 1000D amp @ 1 ohm mono so the 2 8's will split 1k rms, im looking for a box to really make these subs sing yet still play music, not just pure spl, thanks in advance

hi, i am thinking of using kick pods for my componots since they are too deep for my stock location ( they are re audio xxx comonopots) and i am wondering i was thinking of putt ing in some midbass drivers in the stock location in the door. know will that affect anything since there will only belike 4 inches seperating the componots and the midbass drivers.

I just built a 4th order BP box for a Panasonic 10" woofer, and it sounds terrible. Not "bandpass" bad, just designed wrong. The frequency response is WAY off. Here is what I have: Panasonic 10" t/s Vas: 42 L Fs: 30.0 Hz Qts: 0.37 I input that into the calculator on carstereo.com and came up with: Volume front = .397 ft^3 Volume rear = .533 ft^3 Fb (front side) = 58.3 Hz Frequency response ~ 35-90 Hz Added sub displacement and port displacement to the front and rear volumes and built the box. Due to the small area, I could only get a 3" port into the enclosure. Maybe that is too small? Calculated a 3" x 12" long port. Anybody tell me what to do different????? Thanks! …

Hello all. New sub is being built as we speak (went full carbon fiber cone and dustcap also). Dc suggests 5.5 cubes but im wondering if anyone else has had some experience with these things to give me the right direction to head. The current box is about 7.5 cubes net so a new box is in order. Will also be going up in power soon. Sub will be on a synergy 35.1 at .5 until i can get a bigger amp. It will be daily but also the occasional competition.

My sub stage is complete for now, made 138.2 on music Meca style with bass turned down on the head unit. (didn't notice this until after I metered it.) Now I need to upgrade the fronts. The audioque set with their amp looks nice, but is there better for the money? Budget is $500.

I just bought a 4ohm Lethal Injection 12" (just fried my old Polk momo) for my grand prix. As i type i have a sealed 12" box i got from a random auto shop a few years ago, i'm not even sure the cu'ft of the box to be honest. i'm really just looking for something to show off from time to time, for the most I run metal, but every now and then I like to jar the fillings in my teeth. :-) For the VERY brief time being it will be ran by a Sony XMGTR2022 amp that i've had for years. Had two ppl order DC lvl4xl15s d2 and they where both coming from Mojo 15s. I did and Audiopipe 1800D on one DC in a CRX and they guy sad it was way louder that the mojo on his Kole amp. Cool all is right with the world... btw he has the big 3, double 1/0 and an extra batt. My other customer has a '94 Buick Park Ave with a 2610D from Hifonics. ALso with extra batt, big three, and 1/0 power and ground front to back. I have built this guy 5 boxes in the past 6 months(he's indecisive and we are both ok with this) and he is claiming the mojo is louder across the board. Box is 4cubes tuned to 32hz facing drivers side with the back seat cushion removed. How can I build a box…

Hey guys. I have the Kenwood Excelon X1R amp and am looking for some new subs to put in the trunk. I have really been looking at AudioQue. I like the way there stuff looks and the prices. Its looking like 2 12 Sdc2.5's in a ported box (if the room is available). I was wanting to see any other suggestions for 2 12s in the range of 300-350 and also wondering who has had experience with these and if they were loud for spl. Thanks

Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I am about to build a new box for my Fi BTL 15'' and I was wondering what aero ports are? I know this may sound stupid but basically what I want to know is if they can be used instead of a slot port in a ported enclosure that will be used daily for music? Can you still pick a tuning frequency? I was looking to tune at 32hz with a box volume of 4.5 cubes. And lastly, is there a benefit to them over a slot port design? Thanks!

i had a guy offer me his sa-15 (with or without box) and 2 rolls of audio wrap (15"x10' each) and some pieces of second skin damplifier pro and maybe a little bit of cash for my xl 12 (without box). is it worth it? can i flip the sub for some quick cash while using the deadener in my truck? if so or not so, how much would everything be worth that he is trading me?
