Alright, so I've been running a tcsounds tc10 in just a small sealed box for some time. Although this beefy lil thing sounds awesome sealed, I have been planning on doing a ported setup. Since passive radiators are the best way to "port" my sub, last week I finaly buckled down and picked up one of their matching passive radiators from their closeout sale so I could start my new enclosure. Now to my question.. For those of you who have this combo, what airspace are you working with, and how many washers are you using?? I've spoken with a tech who gave a recomendation, but I would like to hear from any of you to see what sounds best in your oppinons! Of course the soone…

New here and looking for opinoins. I was running 2 ME12's sealed at 1.25 on a saz-1500d in my extended cab Dakota, I'm now driving a GTI and plan to make some upgrades. I'm looking for more low end output, not nesicerially more output over all. I need to stay in the 4cf net area with good SQ, why I typically run sealed. So I'm looking at cone area. 2 15's are the winner in cone area by about 1 10's worth of cone, on the other hand I can get a real good deal on the 4 10's, about $200 less and have the same if not more power handling ability if I need it. So is that extra cone area gonna just kill the 10's? I can be about .8cf over the recomended size on hte 10's but righ…

I've noticed that the level 3 subs have small vented requirements. I am looking to use two level 3 tens in a jeep wrangler. The enclosure size would be the recommended 1.4 cu. ft. (for both subs combined) using a 4" precision port for tuning. Can I start cutting or is this a bad combo?

  10. Found someone selling a pair of Punch HE2 RFP3208s for cheap, and was thinking of picking them up to toy with since Ive never used 8s before. I cant find anything about them though except a lacking manual that doesnt have all the normal specs in it. Basically just 250w RMS, 11mm xmax, and box suggestions. Anyway, they are BNIB, and Im guessing kind of rare since I cant find anything on them. Has anyone heard or used them before that can comment if they are worth trying out?

  11. Planning on running two SA-15s probably off something like this http://www.sonicelec...-BK1300.1D.html in the back of a 2000 ford focus wagon. Would subs like these require an alternator upgrade or would they run fine off stock, and also if SA reccomends a 3.0-4.0 ft^3 @ 35hz ported box for one sa-15; around what size do you think two of these would require? And would a box that big fit in the back of a ford focus? Any help and suggestions on things I havent asked here are also appreciated !

  12. Hey guys! I received my Hovoc 15's 2 days (Thanks you Brian) ago and installed them yesterday. DAMN!!!! Thats all I can say lol. I had 2 Diamond Audio d3 previously and they were great. They hit pretty hard but didnt hit the lows hard enough for me. I had a Mmats 2000.1 amp powering both subs and the d3's couldnt handle it when cracked up, they started to smell like smoke after playing them hard and long. Overall they are great entry level subs, nice quality, and they hit hard. now for the havocs, out the box I knew these things was going to be a beast, and they are. After I installed them I rode around for a couple of hours just playing different songs and instantly thes…

I fried the tinsels on my 2005 RE XXX 12D2. I don't know where to get a re-cone or what to do with it. I was going to get 2 BTL 15's and put them in a trunk on 5000W or whatever I could afford, I don't want to buy over 1 extra battery. Can you re-cone a 12 to an 18? Would an 18 on 1500-2000 W ported (through the seat) be plenty? It would save hella on everything, I bought it for $350 and used it for a year in a 1.7 cf3 box @ 37hz, it didn't drop but it had rich and neutral sound. I don't like the tinsels being exposed, they should have sewn them into the voice coil. Can they handle 2000W? 2500? 3000? My plan was to have atleast 3000W, and more cone area than 2 12's.

I built this box for my sons Scion. I did it this way so we could still use the area for light duty cargo space. 1.8 ft^ @34 hz with the port running straight along the back. It hit's decent for the L7 10 and Cadence 600ish watts. I know this isn't a killer build but as of right now I only have about $200 in the HU, amps, sub, and comp sets. Budget build for a kid kinda thing. Unfinished because I'm still on the fence... Messy here too for now... Here's the current port exit area. It's a little tighter toward the bottom than I like and why I brought all this up. I've been thinking of switching to a Sundown SA-12 in the same box running the same amp. Is the downfire/…

Today I put in some pioneer a series 6.5" in the back of my car. Tomorrow i'm planning on ordering the 4" models for the front. I'm running them of the 18w head unit. I have a sub already and was wondering if it would be worth it to buy something like 150hz bass blockers for the front speakers. I didn't know much about car audio when I went and bought my head unit and it doesn't have a high pass filter.

Recently purchased an Image Dynamics ID8v3 and built a vented enclosure tuned to 32Hz with 330w from an RE Audio DTS 1000.1. Love the SQ of the ID8, but now wanting more SPL and volume. I have a limited air space (0.6 ft^3 max) and limited mounting depth ( 5.25"). Was wondering if an SD-2 10" @ 2 ohms in a sealed enclosure would have more SPL than the ID8 in a ported 32Hz tuned box? Also, what would be the minimum air space for an SD-2 10" and recommended port tuning at 560 watts? Thanks

I was just curious what physical attributes you guys look for in a speaker. I know the best thing to do is listen to it, but if your not able to at the moment, what are things you can look for that indicate whether it's a quality driver, or crappy driver? Any links to sites or threads would be appreciated.
