Which glue is better to use on recones, the CA glue that comes with some kits, or 15 minute epoxy. Apparently FI doesnt send ca glue with a recone kit, they told me to use 15 minute epoxy. Thanks

Hello all, I'm thinking of placing a Dcon 10" in a 1cf box ported and wanted to use a 3" port because of size/length restrictions, for 33hz I calculated it to be 15.3" long, is a 3" pvc good enough?

  4. I am looking for some 6.5 inch components, RIght now i have a set of Swiss Audio sak-650's in small sealed boxes and Pioneer Ts-A1702c which are also 6.5 inch but i built small boxes tuned to about 45 for those. I would like something better than this and i would put them in the ported box. I am using these at home so mounting stuff is not a problem. Also for me the pioneers are better. what would you recommend? Also price is kinda of an issue, so the cheaper the better. Thanks

I have 2-Eminence Alpha-6A(6.5" midranges) in all 4 doors on a Sundown Audio Sax125.2 that will be hear Wednesday. I plan on deadening the door frame and panel with Damplifier Pro but plan on putting these on top of the Damplifier Pro and positioned right behind each speaker. Will these be Deflex Power Pads(link below) useful or is Damplifier Pro all I need? If it is useful then will car rubber floor mats work just as good or are these made out of completely different material? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=268-242%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20&FTR=deflex%20speaker%20pad&CFID=11884925&CFTOKEN=17974532 Thanks for the input.

I used to drive a chevy silverado, and now I'm driving a pontiac grand prix gtp. in the chevy ontop of the back seat, i had 3 memphis 12's in a ported box tuned around 40 hz. now i'm trying to figure out a box that can fit in the trunk to have the 3 subs ported a little lower, probably around 30. the problem isnt so much that i don't have enough trunk space, but the opening when the trunk's open is EXTREEMLY too small to fit a 6 cu. ft. box ported, so now i need help as to putting them all in.... my first guess would be to build three seperate boxes and put them in that way and maybe bolt them all together or something, but has anyone dealt with grand prixs and have a bet…

Anyone mess with the CDT mid tweets? Can't remember the model numbers. The concept and size sounds cool, but I'm wondering what the DIY realm thinks of it.

A buddy of mine wants me to put a system in his 2006 ford f250 4 door truck. He wants the subs behind the back seat. I have about 4.5" of mounting depth, about 14-15" in height, about 60" long, and about 1.25-2 cubes to work with. He wants to be able to hit the lows fairly good in a ported box. Which sub or subs should i get for him? Sizes? How many? I know the shallow mount subs like the cvts and p3s are pretty good but they dont get too low. Also i have 1200 watts at 1 ohm available to work with. So any wattage up to that would be recommended.

i have noticed that The new RE subwoofers like the SR, SE, SXX are badly built unlike they where before.. correct me if im wrong but RE subwoofers are now china made but parts still came from US.. if i where to compare products in general.. i would like to know your opinion about these.. which is a better brand in general terms and application.. RE vs FI? RE vs SunDown(subwoofers)? RE vs AA? fi sundown and aa seem to have the same built for that subwoofer.. they have the element of just by looking at them you knw this sub is loud..

I run a 15" SSA Icon in a 4 ft3 ported enclosure, but I just have a round PVC port. I can see that most of the ported enclosures use beautiful "slot" ports (is it the good word ?). Those are more difficult to do, and you have to make it right the first time ! It's difficult to change them after. I want to know why do people use those ports? What are the advantages, comparing to simple and adjustable round ports? Sorry to bother with all these questions, but I am here to learn, and to run my sub correctly. BTW I love the sound of my sub with this enclosure, and I will try to tune it lower !!!

  18. I'm looking to upgrade the midbass performance in my truck, while still blending in with the rest of my equipment and sounding good. I know I will not be able to keep up with my substage ever, because I am a basshead, but thats OK with me. I was looking at a set of the Peerless SLS 8" drivers. They would be mounted in my doors, right next to my set of Pioneer PRS C720 component speakers. Door will be sealed and deadened. I have around 150-200 watts available per channel for just midbass. I'm running stereo with no rear fill. I don't have any external processors but I have a P800-PRS head deck with the rear channels unused. What would I all need, and need to do setup…

OK, well I'm looking to buy a SI Magnum 12, and I have a problem picking an amp. I have Directed 1500D that does around 1100 watts at 1 ohm, but I was looking at the Crossfire VR600D that does 600 watts at 1 ohm. I'm looking at putting the sub in around 1.75 cubes at 30hz. Which amp should I use and why? And any recommendations on the box size and tuning?

because I'm a noob to active setups. So I'm trying to plan out an active two way setup for my Tahoe. My question is can I use any speakers I want? I'm used to buying what is packaged and put together for me and now I'm swimming in possible options. I see all the Morels ,but none are the ones for the car setups, then there are seas and ScanSpeak and peerless.........Do they need to be made for car audio and what are things I need to look for in the graphs and such. I have no way to demo all these options!

as stated in the topic description, i listen to alot of rock music along with rap and country. i have some eD 6000's in the doors of my 94 chevy that i personally cut holes for. it used to have 4x6's in the dash that sounded crappy. i also put some rainbow 5.25's in the rear panels, its an ext cab, not sure wut model the rainbows are, 100 bux on ebay. anyway, im lookin for more midbass when listening to rock music. i have a XXX 18 and an FI BTL 18. BTL is blown right now so im rockin the XXX for the time being. so thats my sub bass set up and my "mid bass" setup but im not completely satisfied. there's a void. i was thinking about gettin some 8's or some eD eu-700's they…
