I just got my pair of new sdc2.5's along with my aq1200d amp. I want to wire it to 1 ohm and i believe the picture shows how to do it. However I'm very confused on the size of wire i need to use. I Believe i should use 4 gauge for the power and ground but what size should i use from the amp to the woofers. Not sure what size it is that the amp even takes for the subs. Does anyone know what the recommended size is or what the largest size the speaker outputs on the amp take. One more question what is the proper way to bridge the amp. Any help Would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link to the wiring I plan on using the top picture which will wire it to 1 ohm. Wirin…

as stated in the topic description, i listen to alot of rock music along with rap and country. i have some eD 6000's in the doors of my 94 chevy that i personally cut holes for. it used to have 4x6's in the dash that sounded crappy. i also put some rainbow 5.25's in the rear panels, its an ext cab, not sure wut model the rainbows are, 100 bux on ebay. anyway, im lookin for more midbass when listening to rock music. i have a XXX 18 and an FI BTL 18. BTL is blown right now so im rockin the XXX for the time being. so thats my sub bass set up and my "mid bass" setup but im not completely satisfied. there's a void. i was thinking about gettin some 8's or some eD eu-700's they…

Hello forum folks. I recently bought a pair of rockford 6.75s to throw in my rear deck of my Buick Park Avenue. Only problem I assumed they were 6.5s for which I had an adapter plate for to replace the factory 6x9s. I am willing to pay, but would anybody be able to make, preferably mdf, a 6x9 to 6.75 adapter?

I don't know what to put in my dash, it has stock 4x6 speakers, I want to try to do a 4" comp set or something like that, or should I just replace with coaxs? I know they make plate speakers but I don't know which way to go. I want a good clean sounding front stage with alot of bass, and crisp clean highs too. Help please.

i was wondering if i would do any damge to any component of my system by using a dual 1 ohm sub, and a dual 2 ohm sub together? Also, for us dummys out here, what is the formula to figure the resistance when wiring like that? i know there is a way to get my resistance between 1 and 2 ohms that way, but might need a diagram, where could i find that?

  12. Hi, I'm new to this. I never made a box before, so I'm trying to figure out how to make a ported box. I plan to get a dcon, but want to make sure I have the know how of how to make a box before pulling the trigger. I want to put it in 1.25 cu ft, tuned to 32hz, getting 400watts. What port area (not volume) should I be shooting for? I read somewhere that 8-12 sq in per cubic foot is good, which would put me at 10-15 sq in of port area, but I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd ask people that have personal experience what they recommend for this particular sub. Thanks

So ive been convinced by a third party to swap my fosgate amps for some audison amps and im wondering if i should still go all active up front. Im looking at 2 SRX 5 channels rated at 4X75, 1X160 @ 4ohm or 2X150 1X160 @ 4ohm (all my drivers are single 4) and i was planning on keeping my 301x fosgate amp I need to power pair front tweets, pair front midrange, pair front midbass, pair rear passive componants and center channel (9 channels) Ive sorta boiled it down to either All Audison active = 2X150 front midrange, 4x75 rear and front tweet, 2x160 midbass and center channel off the fosgate Fosgate/audison active 2X150 front midrange, 2 X150 rear, 2X160 midbass and center…

If I have D1 12" AA Mayhems and I hook them up to the sundown 4500D by running the voice coils on each sub in series(which makes each sub a 2ohm load) then run them parallel to the 4500D would that give me a ~1ohm load to the amp? Or am I missing something here? Ive been told by many different people who are very well versed in audio that I need D2 and D1 for that amp. Any insight or help? Also the electrical is big 3, 220A alt, 3/0ga run to two 3100D batts, then hooked up to the 4500D.

i have noticed that The new RE subwoofers like the SR, SE, SXX are badly built unlike they where before.. correct me if im wrong but RE subwoofers are now china made but parts still came from US.. if i where to compare products in general.. i would like to know your opinion about these.. which is a better brand in general terms and application.. RE vs FI? RE vs SunDown(subwoofers)? RE vs AA? fi sundown and aa seem to have the same built for that subwoofer.. they have the element of just by looking at them you knw this sub is loud..

Curious again about subwoofer recommendations. Looking for the loudest and clearest out of the three but mostly leaning towards output. i have the option of using either a MTX 1501d or a Hifonics BXI2008 and subs can be in basically any size box. 2 Re Audio SX 12 2 SSA ICON 12 1 Fi BTL 18 Thank you in advance

Title explains it just wanted to run it by some people on here. Wanted to keep it pretty simple and not overly expensive. Going with a an alpine 9887 headunit running active. Sundown 100.4 amp, Sea CA18RNX mids, and Seas 27TFFNC/G tweeters. Crossing tweets at around 2.5k and mids around low 2k. Question that i just want to make sure is can the CA18RNX mids run up to the 2k range?
