  3. i was just wondering....i haven't thought about audio for a while but i got to thinking today....what's the best box for my application? Right now my Mag !2 us un a 1.9 tuned to 29 hz box...sounds great.....but it would be cool if i didn't take up so much space in my trunk....so i was thinking sealed....but the thing is i only got about 450 watts going to it from the rear channels of a RF 800.4....i figured the ported box was best but i was wondering with the power I have what ya'll have done. I am some what drunk right now so this might be a dumb questions Scott, SC

  4. I'm looking to upgrade the midbass performance in my truck, while still blending in with the rest of my equipment and sounding good. I know I will not be able to keep up with my substage ever, because I am a basshead, but thats OK with me. I was looking at a set of the Peerless SLS 8" drivers. They would be mounted in my doors, right next to my set of Pioneer PRS C720 component speakers. Door will be sealed and deadened. I have around 150-200 watts available per channel for just midbass. I'm running stereo with no rear fill. I don't have any external processors but I have a P800-PRS head deck with the rear channels unused. What would I all need, and need to do setup…

I run a 15" SSA Icon in a 4 ft3 ported enclosure, but I just have a round PVC port. I can see that most of the ported enclosures use beautiful "slot" ports (is it the good word ?). Those are more difficult to do, and you have to make it right the first time ! It's difficult to change them after. I want to know why do people use those ports? What are the advantages, comparing to simple and adjustable round ports? Sorry to bother with all these questions, but I am here to learn, and to run my sub correctly. BTW I love the sound of my sub with this enclosure, and I will try to tune it lower !!!

I used to drive a chevy silverado, and now I'm driving a pontiac grand prix gtp. in the chevy ontop of the back seat, i had 3 memphis 12's in a ported box tuned around 40 hz. now i'm trying to figure out a box that can fit in the trunk to have the 3 subs ported a little lower, probably around 30. the problem isnt so much that i don't have enough trunk space, but the opening when the trunk's open is EXTREEMLY too small to fit a 6 cu. ft. box ported, so now i need help as to putting them all in.... my first guess would be to build three seperate boxes and put them in that way and maybe bolt them all together or something, but has anyone dealt with grand prixs and have a bet…

So I got bored and took my Orb Audio sub out of its' enclosure and noticed holes in the cone down by the spider. Why is this? Iv'e never seen it before or heard of doing this. Anyway, Here are some pics of this little bad boy. It's not a bad sub for an 8". It acts more like a 10" or 12". I wish the extension was a bit lower but this is just my game room setup. Here it is next to my AA assasin that I've still yet to install. Not sure IF I want to build an enclosure for two of these in the game room or put them in my wife's car. Decisions...decisions!!!!!

as stated in the topic description, i listen to alot of rock music along with rap and country. i have some eD 6000's in the doors of my 94 chevy that i personally cut holes for. it used to have 4x6's in the dash that sounded crappy. i also put some rainbow 5.25's in the rear panels, its an ext cab, not sure wut model the rainbows are, 100 bux on ebay. anyway, im lookin for more midbass when listening to rock music. i have a XXX 18 and an FI BTL 18. BTL is blown right now so im rockin the XXX for the time being. so thats my sub bass set up and my "mid bass" setup but im not completely satisfied. there's a void. i was thinking about gettin some 8's or some eD eu-700's they…

Well, I was able to get a little more framework on the Z done today. Here's some pics. The PLs in the door. And I bet you think this is just an ashtray...... Well, lift it up and the little microswitch opens and POOF, no more subbass. Flip it down again, and the MAGNUM will breathe fire! Also had to work on an enclosure for some, BAH, JLs. A trio of 10W6s in 3 cubes @32Hz. Doesn't sound too shabby.

  18. I am looking for some 6.5 inch components, RIght now i have a set of Swiss Audio sak-650's in small sealed boxes and Pioneer Ts-A1702c which are also 6.5 inch but i built small boxes tuned to about 45 for those. I would like something better than this and i would put them in the ported box. I am using these at home so mounting stuff is not a problem. Also for me the pioneers are better. what would you recommend? Also price is kinda of an issue, so the cheaper the better. Thanks

  19. New to site and need some help with sub choice. I just bought a '08 Silverado Crew Cab with a SubThump single 12" sealed box and currently has a Kenwood KFC-W3012 in it and I am definitely not happy with it. I have a hair less than 6.75" of mounting depth and .95 air space before sub and it doesnt have any filler but could get some if need be. To power it i have a 600w Infinity Ref mono block. I also have ID CTX65 Components and a Pioneer 4200dvd deck and listen to everything....I would say rock and rap more than anything else. I am more into SQ but want something that can hit low and fast and sound great doing it. Budget wise I would like to stay under $300. So.....wh…
