110 volts to each coil The surround was probably 150 degrees when I first cut it open! I let it sit for a couple hours and it was still to hot to pull it out of the wooden cradle http://youtu.be/XglfJ10tryA

I've seen a couple people such as DreDay256, sorry to name drop, running subs from fi or ssa as midbass. So to my question, what are the usable higher frequencies that can produce in a very linear line from your subs in a medium size box (either sealed or ported) fom say 60hz on up to.... What? They would be ran off an aq1200d. Looking for some ideas to think about while I still am thinking about my next build. Would be used between sub (1 18" fi q on a BC2000D, high pass set to 27hz low pass set at 70hz) and midrange 6ND430 that I've ran as low as 100 hz up to 1.5k off an aq1200d. Both amps sending clean signals. 220 amp alt, big 3, and 2 shuriken bats in back. Just loo…

Let me start by saying that in no way, am I bashing this sub. It is god like compared to the mainstream brands I have always run in the past. My current system is 1 12" Fi BL w/ cooling on a Sundown SAZ 1500.v3. The box is right from the cut sheet on this forum, posted by ndmstang 2.4 cu. ft. @ 32 hz. I think. 1/0 ga. big 3 with Shuriken bt-80 in the trunk, stock alt. Sound deadning throughout. 2004 ford focus. I think I overshot my goals a little. During an audio show at the local shop, I hit 131.4 @ 36hz. Doing demos for people with Dubstep, I always hear about their vision blurring and noses itching. "WOW look at your car shake!" On that end of the spectrum I could …

i currently own a FI SSD15 that i have in the back seat of a 2006 tundra. i dont have enough room for an optimal box so the box is currently about 2.5cuft tuned around 31hz. i have mad a ton of different box designs and i currently can not go any larger on the box so i was woundering if i would gain volume by reconing to a ssd12? any thoughts or advice?

After waiting a month and a half after placing my order I finally received my AA mayhem. I will be putting it on a soundqubed 750.1 because I dont plan on upgrading my electrical for a little while. I am currently running 2 aq sdc2.0 and they do slam for what they are. As for the box, It is in 2.5 cu tuned to 32hz with a 4" aeroport. Immediately I noticed the packaging is very well done, and I give huge props to SSA for that aspect. I will most likely give a review for the mayhem once I get my box. Anyways here are some pics

looking at revamping my current build in the next few months. im gonna wall off the truck and have about 8-10 cu ft to play with for volume after the port. ive been looking at doing several different driver combos such as 8 10s or 2 18s but open to any other combos people have in mind. gonna keep running the 3500d v2 i have now. i wanna stay around the $1k or subs, and i want to tune around 33hz. going to be a daily driver with some competition use. ive been looking at IA DPs, NSv2s, Zv4s, PSI platform 3s, fully loaded FI BLs,and AA mayhems for 2 18 combinations. i dont think i really have enough space for xcons/zcons. havent seen much in the 10s area i wanna run yet.

I realize that SSA are built at the FI buildhouse, but what are the differences between these two subwoofers? The only differences I notice in a SP4 and Evil are the magnets which one is ufo style and one is the traditional stack style, then the SP4 has sandwhiched leads in the spiders. The specs are almost identical, a small change in the T/S parameters. Is the Evil basically the fully loaded SP4 with an extra 200 dollars added on top? Nothing agianst SSA or Fi either way, I just am interested in what makes the evil better to which that 200$ comes from.

I have the discontinued infinity reference three way six by nines. There's a +3db switch on the tweeter housing, are they normally attenuated, or how does that work? i was thinking about turning the switch on, and i wasn't sure if it may cause any damage? I have them powered by a 2010 Rockford P400-4. Their nominal impedance is 2.67 ohms so i would think their getting decent power.

i want a system that is crazy loud with great frequency range. i like hearing the jumps and drops from one frequency sweep to the next in my songs. i had a sub @44hz that i loved but it was not loud enough and had no low end (44hz, no low end? go figure). so i bought a new one and tuned to 35 and now i have no high end. so my thought was this. what about building a wall, dual ported subs with one tuned to 32hz and the second at 40 or 45hz. installing xovers and subsoncs to prevent the 2 subs from over laping one another. would this work or should i just build a sealed box and be done with it? i was thinking 2 SP4 18's

Simple question; without breaking the bank on super high power mids and highs, would front speakers mounted in door (one pair only) be able to keep up with a 4- 15's wall? Wall is on 2k rms, Kicker CVX's. My friend doesn't want to build pods, and I can't tell him my opinion, being a state away. I think his budget for a pair is $400. I'm pretty sure he just doesn't want to put in the work building them lol.

I've been considering getting one of these subs but I am curious, I'm hoping that they are under rated a bit. And i know it is generally a good idea to over power the subs rather than chance clipping the amp, and I know how quality they are so I must ask will I be safe running one DCON on an Alpine MRP-M650 at 600w? I know that I can always gain down the amp but does anyone think they'd be alright at nearly full power?

Hello guys, I am looking to put together a system with one 10 inch driver in a ported box for my mustang. I am looking for something with around 1500 watts rms, long throw excursion with 30mm or greater xmax. These are the choices that i have found and liked so far: Sundown x10 Sundown z10 Tantric Sounds hd10 I seen some others like ssa xcon 10 but it is still based on the old style basket and spider setup and while it has an xmax of 31mm, Jacob of Sundown said that these older designs reach xmax and xmech at the same time whereas the new styles like the x,z and tantric subs are designed with way more throw built in so over excursion wont damage the woofer to an exten…

Just a quick question from a newb. I took my old system of out my '98 Cavalier last summer and am just getting around to getting it installed into my 'new' '03 Cavalier this weekend. My system includes a rebuilt 5 channel alphasonik amp, some 4x6 pioneer door speakers (which are currently installed), an older model pioneer deck w/ usb hookup, a single 12" kaption sub, and a set of 6x9 Energy speakers for the rear. When I installed my door speakers, I tried installing the rears at the same time. They fit my old car, but I had them mounted in the trunk above the sub and under their brackets - because even though the speaker size is 6x9, the stupid flare design makes th…

Hello guys, well its been awhile since ive been in here. Im kinda outta touch with what new and whats good. So right now I have 1 15" Fi BL on a Sundown Saz1200.. i think its a SAZ, ill double check when i get home. I love this sub its great! since Im good with my sub, its time for me to move on to my door and dash speakers. My motto is I want good quality products, I dont really care about looks, plus they wont be seen anyway. I remember years ago when I got my BL asking about Sundown and people saying that they didnt put their money in looks they put it in the product. well thats what im looking for with my speakers. Im looking for the best bang for my buck, its not all…

How do the speed nuts get used properly? Do they attatch to the metal frame of the door and then the screw goes thru it or do they just lay flat against the metal frame and the screw goes thru. Clockwise or counter clockwise ?
