Subwoofers / Speakers

Once I took my speaker out of the box I noticed some...issues.... Overall the speaker looks to be in pretty good shape except for one thing - the pad has come off between the cone and the tinsel lead / spider. On top of that, it looks like the tinsel lead came unstitched from the spider. I don't think this will be a huge issue but if there's a way to fix it I would like to try so I don't get tinsel slap (I think I was getting that before). Well here are my basic questions - - - - What kind of glue should I use to attach the pad back to the cone? Hello forum folks. I recently bought a pair of rockford 6.75s to throw in my rear deck of my Buick Park Avenue. Only problem I assumed they were 6.5s for which I had an adapter plate for to replace the factory 6x9s. I am willing to pay, but would anybody be able to make, preferably mdf, a 6x9 to 6.75 adapter?

Does anybody on here know if rockford recones their old power hx2 subs.

Hey there. I just wanted to request that you put up an archive section on your website where it tells t/s specs and recommended enclosures for older models. I was looking for the specs for the older BM's and found what I was looking for on another site, but it shouldn't eat too much bandwith and it's always nicer to have an official place of reference on the manufacturer's site imho. my subs where working fine befor i remove them i put them all back and i got a horrid noise comeing from the back. its late to night so i really couldent look at them. but it sounds like metal radlling but not exatly do subs make that noise. it all most sounds like there blown but still pound. idk its late got my car all back to geather lets hope all is good and its just something lose right....

i have a 91 honda prelude si and im looking to get better sound in my ride. right now i have a eclipse cd5030 headunit and im going to be getting a 2 set of crescendo audio tweeters. i was wondering what would be a good mid woofer or coaxial speaker to use with the tweeters. i listen to all kinds of music but most of the time its rap.

ok, I've pre-ordered some mpyreaudio mids but they put out the 4 ohm mids for adire extremis (i only pre-ordered because there was no 4 ohm version) plus it's a cheaper driver. Specs are similar but not exactly the same. I'm guessing they will be similar but I will be putting it IB in the doors. Does either one have an advantage in the doors (according to specs)? I forgot what specs to look for to see a better IB driver.

Is anyone familier with an OZ Audio power 12.1 ? Can it really take the 4000 rms listed ? Sq ? spl ?

I just got a 16Kv.2 for free, the spider was destroyed, and the cone and coil were both seperated from the spider, does anyone have a recone kit? eD doesn't sell them anymore.

well i blew a voice coil in a 7 year old power hx2 12 with a brutus 1600d. wondering if i should just buy a new sub or recone this one, also i cant find a recone for it. any advice will be appreciated. thnx in advance

I will be running 4000 watts when my other amp comes in and i have narrowed my subwoofer down to 3 choices. If youve had experience with these subs, please give opinions on which one would be good for me. It will be played daily with occasional spl competition use. The choices are FI fully loaded BTL 15, Atomic Extinction Level Event 15, or DC Sound Lab LVL 4XL 15.

While at first this will certainly seem to be just another "what sub is better" thread, I am indeed seeking the advice of those familar with the possibility spelled out in the thread title. My goals are: 1). Sound quality for multiple genres. 2). Lowest possible frequency response, whether ported and tuned low or sealed in a large dual chamber enclosure. 3). Adequate SPL, albeit valued below sound quality. 4). Would a single 1000 watt subwoofer circumvent and/or surpass the supposed goals of dual 500 watt subwoofers, or would the contrary do so? Alright so I decided to go for the two Sundown E series 12" subwoofers rather than the SA series 15" subwoofer. I was told and thought the answer was reasonable, that two 12" E series will have better SQ and SPL than a single SA series 15" sub. I was wondering if anyone had them(The E series 12's), and would recommend a certain Ported enclosure size, I'm going to use Aero Ports... My max dimensions are 14h x 34w x 20d. I don't want to go any bigger, I'd enjoy a little wiggle room in my trunk. Height and Width are maxed, Depth can be extended quite a bit. I'm thinking of tuning my box to around 30-35Hz. Well guy's I would like some opinions on my next set of subs. I tend to lean towards sq but I still want some subs they can get loud and go low and rumble with the best of them. I would like to use the same enclosure that I had with my 2 12" ID MAX's, it is a sealed enclosure with a common chamber and 1.3^3 ft. of airspace per sub before displacement. So on the combo for the 15'' nightshade with the 1500d, it sais "Item not available", but on the sub and amp individually its in stock or 'allow 1-2 week build time'. so are the nightshades available for order? or just not the combo? whats the deal because im looking to buy in the next couple days. My dad has an old Jensen box that had an 8 inch woofer and a 2 inch tweeter in it, it sounds great but the woofers surrounds are worn away now. I need to replace the woofer in it but I'm having trouble finding one to go with the tweeter, fit in the box, and match the rms of the amp. The tweeter is 8 ohm, the box has about 4.25 inches of space, and his amp puts out 75 rms at 2 ohms and 50 rms at 4 ohms. He needs this for rear fill and to add some bass. This is for his work van so I need to use these enclosures as they just fit behind the seats. If it helps the original box handling was 75 rms at 4 ohms.
