Please correct me if I'm wrong. Does polyfil slow down the air in the box and make a sub sound as if it is in a larger box? So say I have a pair of 15s and they require between 1.5 cubes per chamber and 2 cubes per chamber each sealed. Say I put them in 1.5 each, could the appropriate amount of polyfil in each chamber really make them sound as if they are in 2 cubes each?

In my introduction thread, i had a few set ups for my dodge intrepid that I had in the past and the present one that I do have. My new project is my suburban ls What I am looking for out of my subs is just something that is really hitting hard and worth my money. my thoughts have been -four 15 in subs -two 18 in subs (fi btl's) the amp i plan on running on any set up will be the 2500d orion i am really interested in the Pioneer Premier TS-W8102SPL. has anyone ever that sub as a set up or know any good information about it? i just need some ideas and some knowledge on what will work best for me.

With me, with most things I learn by taking them apart and reassembling them. Thats how I got into computers. I took a few old ones apart and reassembled them. I'd kind of like to do the same thing with a sub. Of course I'm not going to tear apart my brand new SPL-12s.(still havent arrived though) I've watched the Discovery Channel video about how a subwoofer goes to together, but thats not enough for me. I see that Mach 5 sells baskets and stuff. http://cgi.ebay.com/MEMPHIS-AUDIO-MOJO-18-...1QQcmdZViewItem That is rather neat, even if it is pointless. I'd like to do something simmilar. I'd like to do a 18" subwoofer. I'd like to do it rather on a budget, so if I screw it…

Picked up a dual behind the seat truck box for $50 for my crewcab f250. its made for 2 10's with (so they say) 5.25 mounting depth and .75 cubes per side. The amp ill be using is a t5002 putting out 900-1000w @ 2ohm bridged. I looking at the SE SR10d2's they have a 5.25 MD and say they work in small enclosures and the ID10v3's with the 5.25 as well. When the box gets here and if I can mod it to fit something deeper maybe 5.75" so the IDQ10v3's or maybe step up to SR12's or the IDQ12v3's might be an option. both say they will work in that small of an enclosure but im looking for real world opinions. (also can always add polyfill, probably will anyways) so basicly How do th…

I am wiring my d2 subwoofers to 1 ohm. When looking at the diagram below the outputs from the amplifier go to different different coils. Can I have both the positive and negative amplifier outputs going to one coil and have them branch off to the other coil? http://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/1_2ohm_dvc_1ohm.gif

I can't get a lot of info and no reviews for this pro audio speaker i guess because it's new... I currently have a sundown 100.4 and a set of ID components rated for 100wrms per side. I want to bridge my components to the sundown 100.4 but i'm sure it will kill them due to too much power.. Question is- If i purchase these pyle pro PNDW6 6.5s, where do i look at replacing my current crossover with a new one so i dont burn it up due to too much power. I looked on partsexpress but it looks like u have to finish building them, i'm looking for already built ones.

Well, I thought I had my mind made up on (2) AQ HDC315-As. But now I'm seriously looking at a pair of DC LV4XLs (15s) Customer service is definately a big factor and they both seem to have it from what I have read & by talking to the owners. Then they both are very close to price & can both take comparable power (I believe). These would be used for daily & VERY FEW comps. I do know it is mostly installment that determines which will sound better so I guess that's not what I'm asking. Just which do you guys suggest? These would either be powered by (2) AQ2200Ds, or a single SAZ-3000D (also very close in price, it just mainly depends if the sale is still g…

Hi All, Would like some advice from those who have heard them. I have a sealed box that has appx .75 cubes after displacement. It has to be sealed and I prefer sealed anyhow. I put two Sundown SA-10's in there (yes I know they are better ported but my son has sa-12's sealed and sound great) but they just aren't doing it. Maybe some of it is because I'm used to my son's 12's but it seems like the 10's aren't hitting all the frequencies. They sound amazing with certain songs but not so great with others. I listen to mainly rock and metal btw. They are running off an AQ2200d and are going under the back seat of a 2012 Dodge Ram running at 1ohm. Anyhow, I would like to …

  15. Im upgrading to 1200 watts soon, so ill either be getting a new single fi bl or q or maybe a second ssd. If i get the second ssd, the new box will obviously fill pretty much my whole trunk. I have a ski hatch that allows air to flow freely from the cabin back to the trunk, and my current setup is noticeably louder with the port open (sub back, port back setup). If i build this new box for 2 12s, would it be smarter to leave some room around the edges of the box and leave some room between the back seats/ski port and the box to continue to allow air to flow into the cabin or should i take advantage of every possible inch of trunk space and forget the whole ski port thin…

Anybody know anything about a sundown/T3 hybrid 12", dual 1 ohm? I'm lookin into them but haven't heard anything about them. Supposedly 2500 rms? Would they go good with a saz2500d and a 4.75 cube box tuned to 36hz?

I will be running 4000 watts when my other amp comes in and i have narrowed my subwoofer down to 3 choices. If youve had experience with these subs, please give opinions on which one would be good for me. It will be played daily with occasional spl competition use. The choices are FI fully loaded BTL 15, Atomic Extinction Level Event 15, or DC Sound Lab LVL 4XL 15.

hey all, i just finished my box.... i was just wondering if it was better to place my sub(on the baffle) close or far away from the port opening or center it on the port opening OR not care about the location all together.btw it`s a 3.5 cubic foot box with the port fireing on the same side as the sub.

Getting one of these as a temporary sub to try out. Trying to figure out how they are, what to do for an enclosure, and how much power i can safely give it. i have probably about 1200 on tap, the last owner said he was running it @ 2 ohms on an SAE1000 and it'll take more. I was thinking of doing something like 2.3 cubes net w/ like 60 square inches of port, tuned to about 35

I am wanting to replace my fi Q 15 ported with two 12 port in the cab of a 2000 dodge dakota. Am getting a 1500 and am buying another 15 to go along with the one that i took out of the dakota. Am want to hear from someone who has heard both the re se or sex 12's or the incriminator lethal injection 12's. I have been wanting a pair of either of these subs for a while. I dont really care about pricing and all that, am just wantting to know what are some of the pros and cons of each of these subs from the user's point of view. Stuff like low end, high end, SQ, Loudness, stuff like that. Thanks.
