one thing stands in my way of a 12 inch d2. low low end. i wanted to know how this subs low end compares to a infinity kappa perfect 12.1d my bro has that sub and as long as i can runble as low and be as loud whil being low as that sub, im content cuase his sub low end lvl is fine for my ears. stuff to give examples for you to compare on is like the intro to evanesecne song wake me up in side. that a low rumble or say the huge bassline right befor the drums come in on angels song from sevendust. i dunno if this would qualify as really low but i know metallicas song the sand mans intro bass drums are the most low hardcore bassdrums ive ever heard. hows a d2 on something li…

Heres some pictures of my current work in progress. It is a downward firing, (port to the side, might build another one with port up too) for behind the seat in an Ext. Cab 89 S-10. A DD 1008 is going in it powered by my USA-300 and my epicenter if I get around to hooking it up. This box was/is built for taking up a minimal amout of space and because I have this stuff laying around doing nothing. The box is around .8 cubes tuned to 40hz. On with the pictures

i called the office.. and WOW... what a huge problem. 33 bucks for shipping if I SEND THE SUB TO ATOMIC to be reconed.... 31 bucks just for shipping if atomic mails me the soft parts so i can recone the sub my self.... then of course the soft parts alone are 50 bucks... so 83 bucks for ME TO RECONE a 100 dollar sub... sadly this is the end of the line for me and atomic audio. o yeah.. and the glue failed that hold the former to the spider... i ask what kinda glue they use... he told me its different special glue... and he does not know the name of it... and on the bottle it only reads "speaker glue" so its special "speaker glue" that no one else uses. and no one has ever …

I drive a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and in the front doors the speakers are 4x6" and in the rear 6x9". My current setup is Sony Xplodes in both locations so I'm looking to upgrade. I' ve already decided on getting a 12" Icon and Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D, but I'm unsure what to do about the rest of the setup. From the looks of it there really aren't that many options for 4x6" speakers that would be any better then my Sonys. What would you guys suggest in my situation? I'm just trying to price everything together for the setup to get an idea of the price and make any adjustments to make it more affordable if need be.

I have been getting a lot of opinions lately for sq subs, amps and setups. I was wondering, per a suggestion earlier, That if I ran 8's in my door for mid bass and a 3" woofer for mid range in kick panel with tweets in A pillar. Has anyone ever made a custom speaker pod in the A piller for a 3" or a 4 " woofer. And if so how does it sound, what are the trouble you run into with that kind of set up. I am trying to shy away from kick panels just cause I am a big guy and the kicks being so low I am afraid I will lose alot of imaging. But here is what I am afraid of putting the mid ranges in the a pillers, that it will be to splashy or high pitch and make your ears bleed wit…

Ok so i was looking for a couple of 10 inch subs that don't cost too much but still can do the job with no problems. 500w RMS each and good sound plus some good excursion. Then i find this sub. Now i know Phoenix Gold is not the best out there but these things look pretty solid. Link for pics/specs http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18824_Phoenix+Gold+RSdC104+-RSdC+104-.html So does anyone know anything about these? I'm open to suggestions as well. I will be using a Sundown SAZ 1000 to power them. Any info on this at all? Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Currently I have a 15" Fi SSD in a ported enclosure with almost 4 cu. ft. It is by far an amazing subwoofer hitting very low notes and hitting them hard. Recently however, I bought another 175 x 4 wrms amp and 6.5" component set that I am currently installing. That leaves another two channels that can be filled up with two more speakers, and I'd rather not use it on rear door speakers. My current subwoofer, does not give the desire punch that I want, and I was wondering if I should buy two woofers or mid-bass/mid-range drivers. Will these give me that punch fill that I want in my system, or should I instead go with two 8" subwoofers for punch. Another question is what cre…

I am going over my system and trying to fix things up for more quality at higher volumes. at present i have a 2 way setup bi amped with an alpint 1" silk tweet and a 10" crachendo. so here is what im thinking right now: im looking at hertz speakers as we sell them at my new job and they sound amazing. so i can pick up a 2 way hertz (either 5.25" or 6.25") and get a new 2 channel amp for them. then i can run my 10" crachendos as mid bass speakers with high/low pass filters on my present amp. does this sound like it might be a good way to build a 3way setup with what i already have or would buying a already built 3 way (6.5, 3.5, tweet) from hertz work out better do you …

I have been looking on woofersetc for a couple of days now and just can't make up my mind on this. What I am planning on doing is putting some tweeters / midbrange speakers in the back of my suv. I want it to keep up with my BTL 18 when I have the back hatch open. Overall I want to spend around a thousand on everything. Everything that's needed is back there as far as power and space. I was really liking the image dynamic horns, but can't find a lot of technical info about them. I am thinking 4 - 6 midbass drivers and 4 tweeters. I am willing to go active and was thinking about trying hifnoics because i've never tried them out before and they have some good prices. Help i…

Ive heard differnt things, one being that the BL is more for the daily beater and the BTL for the "competion sub" Which is better for a daily sub that will not compete in SPL contests and who wants to have LOUD music.

Hey guys and gals. New to the forum. I have posted on a few others and not gotten much advice. I tried the search feature on this topic but need more help due to the Oz sub I will be asking about not being in any threads. I am putting together a new system for a 06 wrx sti. I want good sq but also the ability to get loud. Not anything crazy but loud. I will ask about the woofers as this is the woofer forum. I planned to do a single 15. It is between the tc2000 and Oz audio matrix elite and rlp 15. First off what are your opinions on these three woofers? I cannot find much on the Oz on the forums. The specs are very similar on the three. The rlp has the best price to feat…

Hi everyone I have a couple of questions regarding a build that I will be helping a friend with. He has a 96 ford f150 ext cab and wants sub(s) underneath the back seats, front firing. We're thinking something along the lines of a 8" woofer or woofers. we've measured the area and there's enough height for a 8" sub (there's about 12in of space) and depth there's about 16-18in of space. And width there's about 30in of space. He doesn't want the sub to stick out he wants it either flush with the seat or a little bit less. He wants to buy a sundown 100.2 which is most likely going to happen. (thanks ohjay) and run it bridged 4 ohms @ 400watts. Now, what sub(s) should we…

  19. I have a 95 s10 which im planning to put some new gear in. first i will be using the new brz3000.1D ( which is cea certified btw) it is 3000w rms at 1 ohm. I have enough room to fit 2 15" btl's, but i was wondering how much of a difference going with 2 btl 12's would be compared to the btl 15's? i have a 150 amp alt and i will be using the biggest batt. xs offers. Let me know what you guys thinK? thanks, kyle

So today I replaced my 2 12'' Memphis c3's with a Xcon 15. I've been eyeballing this sub for a while but never had the funds to snag one. I ended up pulling the trigger, but with some hesitation. I didn't want to sacrifice any output moving from 12's to a single 15 and running the same amp. Well, after building a massive 5.75 cubic foot ported box tuned to 32 hz... my mind Is truly blown. I have my sub level at -15 out of 20 on my deck and this thing hits twice as hard as my Memphis c3's, on the same power. Sounds lightyears better ahead of those things also. I really am pissed that I didn't buy my xcon sooner... if your even contemplating buying this... don't waste anoth…

trying to make a decision but wanted some input from the SEAS whores from here to help aid in it. to W18E-001 (E018) 7" magnesium cone woofer or W18EX-001 (E017) 7" magnesium cone woofer, this is the question. building a 3 way front stage and have narrowed it down to these 2. any input to the sound difference would be appreciated, these will be in a door pod and can be sealed off from the other drivers obviously. looking for clarity here as this is being designed as an LSQ system. in advance all comments are appreciated guys and thanks

Was going for a setup with 4 18" tc 5200's but getting the last two woofers fell through so now i'm restarting. I have about 2 grand to put into subs, and a soundigital 8k on tap for power. i can get a ported box back there between 10-14 cubes depending on subs. I'm mainly looking to play low and loud, from 25-35hz and sound really nice daily for music. here's a list that i've come up with so far 6 12" dc level 4's 4 15" zcons 4 15" xcons/ 4 15" dc xl's 4 15" fi n2's 2 18" level 5's 2 18" level 6's (if i can get them) 2 18" tc 5400's 2 18" tc 5200's 2 18" wardens 2 18" smd's any input at all is appreciated. Hello. I really have a thing for sealed subwoofer setups, mainly for how well it produces all the details of drums. I understand how going sealed sacrifices output, so I was considering dual 15s sealed in the trunk of my Saturn, so as to attempt to have extra output with sealed SQ. I have around 5 cubes space available, and a Rockford p1000-1bd (I want to run it at 2 ohms @ 500 RMS). Any suggestions for a good pair of 15s of this criteria? Peace.

  25. Greetings, This is actually my first thread/post on SSA, so first off I would like to say hello and any information that could be provided would be greatly appreciated. I have been a member of the CA.com forum for several years now, but as I have matured I am getting rather tired of the amount of stupid crap you have to sort through to get the information desired. My plan is to do a typical blow through design in my avalanche as is the norm in this type of vehicle. As a point of reference i will give some of the other equipment I plan on running, and some goals to help with opinions as i hope they start rolling in. I will be running a saz4500d for the substage (possi…
