good combo? 2 15mags and 2 massive audio p1000.1 amps...i was told the p3000.1 or the 1000.1 but the 3000.1 is huge and would take up too much space and also cost $50 more. or is their a better combo amp/sub to run besides these subs? thanks! the IA 20.1 is "out of stock for a while"

So I've heard some amazing things about this sub and willing to plunge into if you guys can agree and give some advice... Review Info I've found: DIYMA Caraudio.com Current sub amp is a Kenwood KAC-X810d - I believe these stats are: 12v output : 300w @ 4ohms or 600w @ 2ohms 14v output : 400w @ 4ohms or 800w @ 2ohms I used to have a dual bandpass setup with 2 10" JLs and feel I've outgrown the boomy sound and low sq... w3 version of the JL sub btw... I am looking at the SSA Dcon 12" and was wondering if it can take the 600w daily because this is my ride to work... If so I would purchase the Dual 4ohm version and run the amp at 2ohms knowing fully that I might not…

Once again, these reviews are bassed of mostly first hand experience Adire Shiva - One word for this driver would be "Tight". At the price of $125 for the 12", (the only size it comes in) this is an awsome sub that will make your ears tingle with joy if you like SQ and low tight bass. These work well in ported and sealed boxes, however they generaly like a little larger of a box then other subs that they compare to. There is no one given rms rating for it but anywhere from 150 watts to 500 watts is good, and yes 150 is enough to make this pound. They can be tuned into the high teen's if thats what your looking for. The new MK 3 is a little beefer then past Shiva's but th…

After looking through diycable.com, I came across the Exodus Maelstrom line subwoofers. I am getting the Ex-Anarchys and when I saw the 21" monster I did some investigating. I have seen that it is apparently a beast of a home theater sub so I thought I would run an idea by you guys. How about two of these in a 20 ft.^3 box tuned to somewhere in the neighborhood of 24Hz? I was thinking maybe a couple of sundowns, 2500ds or 3500ds, or something like that to run them. I would be looking for absurd low end response, and I know it's not a SPL sub by any means, but what kind of output would that yield? This is just an idea and I am not even sure about going through with a …

  11. Does anyone know of a thiele-small parameter database or where I could go to get this info for a slightly older sub? In this case I have an original RE Audio SE 12 d2 that I am trying to build a box for but I cant find the needed info. I called the company and the lady said they don't have the info since they were discontinued. P.S. there have been two versions released since the one I have. Any help would be great.

Hey guys well im debating whether or not to get two fi bl or two audioque HDC 12's...the amp pushing them will be either a orion 2500D(both) or a DD M1(each)... They will be installed in a blowthrough enclosure in a 93 Nissan Xtra cab pickup...I was wondering which subs will sound better and get louder if that is possible...the enclosure will be 5 cubes tuned to 33 hz... thanks p.s. all opinions will be appreciated...

Not sure if that first three post rule really applies but here goes my first.. Just purchased new Acura tl and have the following dimensions to work with for an 18 of these subs: Xcon FI q Fi btl n3, sq options Havoc 18 rl-p Firing towards hatch(20h x 32w x 32d) Firing towards trunk (16h x 32w x 40d) Can power with whatever amount needed, have some amps bsheeted ~1650, but can purchase new and probably will for SQ reasons. My plan is a smaller ported box tuned very low with plenty of port area that I can plug to make a large sealed with added blocks inside, possibly a horn or QW for competition in future. All boxes will be firing thru the rear middle hatch and sealed off…

I have DB drive S5 6.5" comps up front right now and my Sony coaxials went out in the back. So I was thinking on moving my DBs to the back and getting some more comps up front. What comps would give me the best clarity for around $150 or less? I have about 50 watts per channel right now but plan to upgrade my amp later.

  19. So I'm looking for sub. Nothing huge, a 10" would most likely be best. I would prefer a small footprint, so I was looking at some of the slimmers subs out there. Kickers, JL, etc. What is the deal with slim subs? Do they perform as well as their deeper counterparts? Any benefits to them other than the small boxes needed? ANd on the topic of boxes, I read how you needed a proper box to make the sub sing, but I am curious. 1) how do you determine port length? 2) pro/con of doing a bended port? 3) the box can easily be too small, but can a box be too big? Just some questions while I am learning everything.

right now i have a 15" TC Sounds LMS-5400. when i bought it i was looking for very clean and loud bass. the LMS-5400 is without a doubt the nicest sounding subwoofer i have ever heard, but now i want to go even louder. i don't really care if the subwoofer sounds increadibly clean and undistorted because i'm just looking for more output. I was looking at either the 18" TC Sounds TC5200 or the 18" FI BTL. What should i get?? any input would be appreciated!

Hey guys, Hopefully ya'll can give me some help here. I have two 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a sealed box powered by a Big Bang Planet Audio D-CLass 1250.1 x 1 amp. Subs sound good but been having them since 2005 and want to upgrade to something bigger and with more output. I have not heard the Xcons and those are the subs I intend to get. I am looking into one 18" or two 15's. They will be powered by the same amp named above, and I will be looking into getting either sub(s) into a Khaotik Ported enclosure. I would have this setup in a 2007 Yukon. Question: Will I be better, in terms of output, getting just ONE 18, or TWO 15's? 2nd Question: Do I go with dual 1ohm or …

  22. I recently picked up a 2006 Pontiac GTO and it has a weak factory stereo. It comes factory with a 6.75" sub in the rear deck, but it is just terrible. I want to replace it with a nice 8" woofer that is still free air capable. I am not looking for something that will be just as loud as possible, I want something that sounds clean, since this is still my daily driver and I just want it to sound good. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks

I have a 2 door Honda civic. Bass would be in trunk. I currently have 1 sa10 in a ported box tuned 30-31 hz powered by kicker zx 400.1 I love this setup but I want more bass My thoughts are 2 sa10s ported tuned 32-34hz powered by kicker 1000.1 Or 1 sa15 ported tuned 32-34hz powered by kicker 750.1 Which would be louder in my trunk? I guess this is kind of a cone area vs power thing .. Either way would work for me .. I've been researching stuff but haven't really found an answer so I'm hoping you guys can help me out lol. And sorry if I left out any information. Thanks for reading!

May be a stupid question but i've heard people talk against the 15" for whatever reason and I was curious what you all thought. I'm planning on purchasing a single sub, either the 12" or 15". Are there any major differences between the two besides power use and loudness, or any reason against getting the larger version that I should know of. Thanks in advance.

I walked into a local stereo shop looking to get some carpet for a speaker box and they had an Eclipse Titanium 15". I had not seen one of these in a few years. They were asking $250 for it, it was an old floor model I believe. Is that a good price for one of these? I recall they were quite a bit back then. Would $250 be worth it? I was getting ready to re-install my 12" Soundsplinter RLP into my new car and saw this and gave me second thoughts.
