So Im going to rebuild my wall, and im going to do 4 15s this time. I have 2 Fi Q 15s right now. But I can sell them and get SSA subs. The amp I will be running is a DD m3a clamped. So my question is should I stick with Fi and get 2 more Qs or should I sell them off and get 4 SSA Icons? just post your thoughts and opinions, the box will have a removeable port and be about 16 cubes before port and im guessing 14-15 after the port is in. Here is my system now,

I got a new car last year and was not going to put a sub in this car because I don't want to loose the room but I can't take it anymore so it time to find the right sub. I have a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 to run what ever sub I get. so I have 600-800 wrms to give it. I want to run 1 10" sub sealed in a small box say .5- to may be 1 foot. I have had PG subs in the past and liked them a lot. I tried a RE SE12 a few years back RPLI12 and 8s. I had the 12 ported and they did get low but for some reason I like 10s better so I ened up with 2 PG rsd 10s in my last car. I listen to all kinds of music. So I see SSA has a new sub coming out soon so I was thinking about the GCON a S…

My friend drives a Chrysler Sunfire, and is looking at replacing the door speakers, along with the speakers in the back deck; His budget is ~500, but has to cover a new radio, and both pairs of speakers. Due to him not wanting to purchase a sub right now, what would be a quality set to invest in? He listens to a lot of rock and alternative and is concerned about how well the new setup will handle the drums and guitars.

A buddy of mine is selling his IB312 because he is getting rid of his car. He is selling it cheap. Since I own a SUV, would it be possible to put this sub in a ported or sealed enclosure?

Friend is looking to buy a sub to put in the back of his Chevy Tracker, with a buget of $100. His goals are strictly output. He wants it loud... He has no idea what SQ is, so that's not an issue. He had 4 12" Wal-Mart Duals at one point and swore they were the best sounding things on the market. He listens to nothing but rap. I will be building the box, tuned to ~33hz for his musical taste. I'm not exactly sure the max volume I can get away with back there, but I know it's not much. I'm guessing a 12 will be the biggest we can go and still remain in optimal specs. He has a 600 watt amp to push whatever he buys @ 2 ohms, or 4 ohms bridged. What are suggestions as to what …

  12. Just picked up a 18" dual 1 ohm SSA Icon and have it in a 3 cube sealed enclosure now. Looking to optimize this woofer with the right box and design. It is wired to 2ohms on a JL 1000.1 Slash v1. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

  13. I am looking to replace my 6.5" components that are in my front door. I currently have Boston acoustic pro60se and have blown my mid bass woofers due to way to much power (who would have guessed haha). I have the new T1000-4 amplifier and the birth sheet says 394 rms x 4 at all impedance. I'm looking for a set of components that can handle all of the power and sound really good doing it. I have been looking at the jbl 660gti because they claim they can take a max of 600rms per speaker/tweeter. I want to know if anyone has heard these speakers before. I also am curious about the morel hybrid ovation II because they also claim to handle 600rms max. Has anyone ever heard the…

Alright, right now I am in the market for a single 15 inch sub. I have a clean 500w to work with. I was considering three different subs. The Sundown E-15, the SKAR IVX 15, and the Obsidian OA-15. I am looking to get something under $180. So far I have somewhat disregarded the sundown for a couple reasons. One being the skar and obsidian like the lows a wee bit better, and, just out of personal preference, I kinda want the rubber surround (what I have now). I'm leaning more toward the Obsidian... probably because of its longer throw, and larger/stronger magnet. I don't want a DCON... just saying that now. So, for any of these subs, they will end up going in a ported box b…

I've been trying to decide on subs for a while now, and ported seems to be the route I want to go. Currently I only have 1000rms to work with (hopefully more later), but overall with this much power, should I be concerned at all about xmax? Obviously I will have a SSF, and just not sure how crutial it is for a high xmax driver. I haven't had subs in a long time, since I've had kids, and the drive to work in the morning with some people on the road driving me nuts, I need to have something to relax me I've been looking at 15's because of the cone area, and I have an SUV, so size isn't that big of a deal, even though I'd like to keep the box within reason, so no more than …

Well the killer deal I was going to get on some warden 15s is looking pretty grim. I mean killer too. So I need to make a new plan. roughly 10 cubes to work with if I build in the trunk Absolute max width is 38, hieght is 18-19. I will be using two atomic AT3000.1s so 6k + So I was looking at 3 12s trunk walled (buying a second D6 12) but fitting the ports is an issue But I'm thinking maybe 4 12s in a 4th? diamond says these sweet things only need 1.5 cubes ported per to be sexy, 1.25 will work as well. But I know nothing about designing and needed space for 4ths http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-DIAMOND-AUDIO-D612D4-12-1200W-Dual-4-Oh-CAR-SUBWOOFER-/170766868411#vi-content fo…

I have a pair of DCON 12's and I blew one of them so looking to get a pair of new woofers. I loved how the DCON's sounded but looking to maximize my amp's power. The subs I am looking at are AQ SDC2.5, Obsidian Audio 12, Sundown SD-2 and they are within my budget of $350. They will be powered by an AQ1200D. I have a enclosure built by DC Creations and it made my DCON slam hard. If you guys have another suggestion I'm all ears.

Been talking to Kevin from DIY Cable about the Anarchy mids and found out that he has a 4 ohm version designed. He has not been able to get enough orders to make a production run, but he is trying to give it a go. He needs 150 drivers preordered, a tall task I know but hopefully between all the car and other sites we can get it done. Here is the link: http://www.diycable.com/main/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=538 Now order some!!

I was given a pair of Earthquake DBXi-12D subwoofers...I found out when i tried to put them in my friends truck, that they are in fact blown. They are supposed to be 4 ohm DVC, but as you can tell from the pics below the VC's are damaged. My question is would it be worth it to look into a recone? These are the speakers in question. Thanks in advance for any input. Luis

Im only going to be able to push 600w or so. I have an AA Havoc 12 here, and was wondering if it would be better to get a new 600w sub like the VVX, or just way underpower the Havoc. Im going to have to build or get a new box as well, and Skar has the VVX + box combo deal. Trying to get down to about 1.75cu, which would really lower the output of the Havoc as well. Im trying to get as loud as I can with 600w while still retaining sound quality and being able to dig low. So which would be louder and/or sound better out of 1.75-2cu, around 30hz with 600w?

  25. ok, so a buddy of mine just bought 2 NS 15 v2's brand new and is getting rid of his old stuff. he builds his own boxes and what not. well i purchased 2 mtx 9500's off him awhile back and when he sold them, he bought a brand new dd 9500G 15 and built a sick ass custom dual ported box for it. i heard he was getting a new system and asked how much for the box because it fits all my dimensions. to my surprise, he said $300 for box AND sub...... only catch is the sub has one blown coil. SO my question is..... do i fix the DD and sell it to get a second zcon 15;) or do i fix the DD and sell the zcon and do 2 dd 9500 15's??? when i do get the box and sub off him (sunday) i will …
