I tried to find other threads that might have helped, but didn't stumble upon any.. (maybe I didn't search the right keywords). But either way, my problem is that my sub will just randomly stop playing, and then start again. Here's my list of equipment - btl d2 sundown 1500d v.2 @ 1 ohm all knu wiring including big 3 alpine hu The first thing I did was check to see if it was the amp going into protection mode, and it's not. The blue power light stays on the whole time, even when it's not playing. I'm in the last stages of deciding my setup. I decided on 2 18's and want to know how these three compare to each other. I'm going to have 11 cubes tuned around 31-32 to work with and 2 Crecendo 2k's. I'm looking for a SPL sub,but with Monster lows to flex everything. That's about all I have to ask.

I'm looking for 6x8s to run off the factory head unit in my 2012 Escape XLT. Factory stereo, no nav, no sync. I read on another site that the Infinity Kappa speakers sound better than stock ones off of head unit power. To me the stock speakers sound good, but I'd like it louder and to have better bass response. I found the Kappas for 75$ a pair shipped, so 150$ for all four. So I'm looking for anything better than those within the same price range, or a confirmation of those being good. Could also run comps, if they could sound good of the hu. And on a side note, anyone know the output power of that hu? I'm guessing under 20 watts.

In general what would be louder between 2 fully loaded 18" Fi BL's, 1 18" fully loaded BTL N3, or 1 18" AA Smd woofer. Will be powered to Hifonics HFI3000d. Already got the amp. If I get 2 subs the box will be 13cuft after displacements double baffled and braced and tuned to 32hz. or with a 1 sub setup it will be 7.5cuft after displacements double baffled and braced and tuned to 32hz. I mainly care about LOUDNESS (No SQ) such as db reads etc. at least 149-152db. Setup will be going into 1996 Chevy Tahoe. Looking for a good hard hitting daily driver. Alright guys, this is going to be my first system. I need some input on what sub to get. I have an amp that my friend said is low budget but is decent. The audiopipe 1500 watt. Now I'm new and don't know a whole lot about systems and stuff so please bare with me I want the kind of loud that makes your nose and throat itch lol. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. Now I just need some advice on what to get. Thanks guys

A buddy of mine wants me to put a system in his 2006 ford f250 4 door truck. He wants the subs behind the back seat. I have about 4.5" of mounting depth, about 14-15" in height, about 60" long, and about 1.25-2 cubes to work with. He wants to be able to hit the lows fairly good in a ported box. Which sub or subs should i get for him? Sizes? How many? I know the shallow mount subs like the cvts and p3s are pretty good but they dont get too low. Also i have 1200 watts at 1 ohm available to work with. So any wattage up to that would be recommended.

I am currently replacing my two Exile Audio Pro xd12's for 2 Sundown SA-12. The feedback on sundown has been amazing and am really looking forward to hearing them. I am on a budget and want to get the best out of the llittle cash i have. I will be running these SA-12 off a Rockford P-1000.1 amp until i can get a bigger and better one. My question is the enclosure. A custom enclosure for 2 ported is quite a bit of money over here, so i am looking for a box i can find to order than is close enough to specs to sound good. Does anyone know a good enclosure to put these 2 SA-12's in that will sound good?

Ok so atm I have the ia comps and have them set at 120 lpf. If I go lower they start to bottom out. So I was thinking of going to a 3 "way" setup with some of the new sa8 v2's. I thought about trying to make them fit in the door but thats unlikely So my next thought is to either box them under the front seats or......build boxes to place behind the front seats on the floors. Now I'm only wanting these to fill in the 60ish-120ish area so I'm thinking sealed boxes. Would this work or is it just a plan to fail?

I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4-door. I am looking to replace my factory speakers. I have 4x6 speakers in the dash (not sure of mounting depth, could not find that spec. anywhere) and according to my research 6 3/4" in the rear doors (again not sure of mounting depth). This will be the first time i go with components or run the speakers off of anything but the head unit. I will be using an old rockford 2 channel amp to power the speakers, it is 100.2 (if memory serves). I need help choosing speakers to fit in the stock location. Ive got two 18" death rows in my truck atm. Lately its been annoying not having a window to look behind when i back up and changing lanes can get scary since i cant really see anything to the right of my except by looking at my right side mirror. Recenly i have been offered a 275 cash plus an 18" death penalty for my 18s. Ive been considering it since it would be nice to have a back window again. My question comes down to would this be a pretty good trade?

I bought a brand new 15" xcon d2 from SSA for $388 back in early September. I've had it all this time just sitting here, since we've been working on getting a custom box designed, I've gone through so much frustration that I'm just wanting to give up and not deal with this anymore. I have a sundown sa-15 with or without box and 2 kicker cvt 6.5" subs. I have a guy that wants to trade me a dd 3512 with box and $60 for them. Would it be worth it? I will most likely not use it very much and just try to sell it cuz I have a dc xl 12. What is the going price on the 3512s?

So I just ordered a couple IDMAX 12's. I had heard your not supposed to give them the whole 1000rms each. So my question is how much do the like? Im thinking of throwing them on a Sundown SAZ 1500 @1ohm. Im guessing about 750rms a piece. Would that be pushing it or should I be fine? Also I was wondering if anyone here has experience with these subs and how do you like them? Have you hit good term lab numbers with them? I know they are SQ subs but i know they can get loud too.

Howzit going guys, I had a question on how much power would i need for "daily use" . I dont care about db levels or that kind of stuff, just something fun to listen too. I was wondering if 700watts would be good for a fun daily system

ok I have two dual 2 zcons and I just built a new box for them. I have them wired in series to achieve a 2 ohm load. They are resting at 2.1 ohms with a straight reading. I put the new box in hooked them up to the amp and played it for 20 seconds or so and instantly notice the no good smell. So i went back and felt the woofers to see if the dustcaps were hot or warm and one was extremely hot and the other was as if it wasnt even played at all. What I have done so far. I have pulled off the wires and checked each individual coil and it all reads a perfect 2.2ohm per coil. I am curious if my speaker wire lengths all need to be the same being that the amp is a mono im not …

Well I've decided two woofers take up too much room in the back of my escape. So I'm going for a single woofer set up. At first I was thinking one Sundown Z 12, but then I saw 18s... So now I need recommendations, One woofer to replace two SA12s. My amp is a Memphis PR1.5KD. 1500w at 2 ohms, I'm unsure of any lower than 2 ohm stability. I'd like it to be under 500.

well the guy with the 18" sundown v1 nightshade wants to trade. his sub, and now $75 for my alternator. so would anyone here be intrested in the sub if i get it? i will have it reconed with a stock coil and cone, or i can sell it as it is now with one ripped lead and u can have it reconed to whatever you want.

is it true you can re cone a sa sub from a 12 inch sub to a 15 inch sub if so how is this possible ?
