I think the saying "you get what you pay for" is true. That bein said would it be wiser to get a better quality 10" sub or a lesser quality 15" sub? Or is that just a favor of difference in a punchy 10 or versatile 15?

Rec'd my Xcon 10D2 back in October and finally got the car install done yesterday and all I can say is ....Damn . I have the Xcon in a 1.2cuft^3 sealed box and it sounds amazing. I know it'll need some time to break in, but this little monster sounds tits . I replaced a Phoenix Gold TIElite12D to reduce some weight, but the Xcon actually weighs more than the Elite and seems to be more efficient as I was running the ELite off a PG TI1200.1 and the Xcon is currently runnin' off a JL Audio 500/1v2. Great sub for the money and couldn't be happier, thanx again SSA.

How do these two subs compare to one another..?? I am currently running a18 Fi Q sealed. Box is on the rather small side with polyfil but i know this sub is capable of more.... Seen the vvx can be ran in small sealed boxes and know the play lowend pretty good.. Figured i may switch from 1 18 to 2 15 due the fact of more cone area.... Amp is a mmats dhcx2200.1

I've made a few threads and I can't get a straight answer. WHICH ONE SA 12s 350 shipped VVS 12s 320 shipped LI 12s 370 shipped What im hearing is they're all equal. Im thinking the vvx since they're the cheapest. The amp will be a sundwowm 1200d. Im looking for heavy lows that shake the whole car. Sq doesn't really matter to me. More of an spl sound. Straight answers please! Thank you!

Looking to get a new 15" sub to replace my 2 SA-12's. I am very pleased with them, but i am just wanting to try something new and have been itching to build a new box lol. Looking for sound quality over anything else. Price range is around $200. Will be most likely going in a ported box in the trunk of my altima. Just wanting some suggestions of good quality 15" subs in my price range. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, driving home tonight listening to my music normally @ around volume 22/60 The song "on my level" my wiz Khalifa played and it's probably one of my hardest hitting songs on my CD. I turned it up to 25/60 about a minute and a half into the song I'm at the red light and my sub was making a terrible noise! Like it was bottoming out. So I immediately turned my music down. When I got home I checked it out, everything seemed fine.. So I tried a little demo this time playing "Late Night Tip" by three 6 mafia and when the bass hit the sub was overflexing and "bottoming out" this time volume was only @ 21. I checked amps gains wires and batteries and everything was fine..…

Okay.. So last time I tried to design a box myself, a got the dimensions a bit wrong, there was a few things I wanted to make a bit different. Here are all the specifications Iv came up with and hopefully they are right this time. Box Net Volume 6.75 cubic feet Port Area 126 inches2 Port Tuning 30hz Port Internal Dimensions 9” x 14” x 46.63” Port Displacement (8.25” of the port will be external)(33.38” Internal Port) 9.75” x 15.5” x 14.25” (Part A of "L" Port) =1.24625651 cubic feet 9.75” x 15.5” x 18.38” (Part B of "L" Port) = 1.60745226 cubic feet 1.24625651 + 1.60745226 = 2.854 cubic feet + 0.18 cubic feet (Subwoofer Displacement) = 3.034 cubic feet (Total Displac…

I have a 2 door Honda civic. Bass would be in trunk. I currently have 1 sa10 in a ported box tuned 30-31 hz powered by kicker zx 400.1 I love this setup but I want more bass My thoughts are 2 sa10s ported tuned 32-34hz powered by kicker 1000.1 Or 1 sa15 ported tuned 32-34hz powered by kicker 750.1 Which would be louder in my trunk? I guess this is kind of a cone area vs power thing .. Either way would work for me .. I've been researching stuff but haven't really found an answer so I'm hoping you guys can help me out lol. And sorry if I left out any information. Thanks for reading!

I have a decision to make my choice is ether 4 SA-15s or 2 18" Z's. I have a Tahoe but I'm keeping my second row seat. I will power the subs with 2 crescendo 2k's(1 for now). My overall goal is to eventually hit around 145-147 on music and maybe 150 burb( I care more about music) . I'm not going to compete I just want a loud street beater. Also it will be tuned around 35-37hz. What does the community think would be better?

I have always wonder this, exactly what is the difference between these different speaker configurations. I want to know the difference, well the reason behind the following. Two-Way speaker Three-Way speaker Four-Way speaker Would like to know the Purpose, Pros/Cons of said above. Also, would appreciate some shed of light comparing this/these to an active or passive setup. For example, I know some people decide to buy a woofer for midbass/midrange purposes and company it with a tweeter. Ok, that makes sense to me. So in essense, is that what a "Two-Way" speaker is trying to accomplish? Taking that idea, do I apply the same principle for Three-Way and Four way? Where as …

Hey fellas. I just started back installing at Best Buy and have moved my old setup (Fi Q15 and Cadence iA7) to my winter truck. Its time to upgrade the 300C. After getting a damn good accomodation price I am awaiting the arrival of a Kicker ZX1500.1 Details: 2007 Chrysler 300C, Big 3 upgrade, 160 amp alt., room for a 6.5 cf. box. Want: More output then my Q15! Love the Q, just want it louder. I want to purchase a single 15" or 2 12"s for a budget of $500 or less. I am looking for a high output driver that is at least musical enough for daily listening. I did like the Q for the lows and would like to keep that in a higher output sub. So far I am thinking of the following…

is it true when you first install a sub and run it for the first time it's best you should not play it at full power for a while.the reason i ask this is because i was never told this by anyone before you had to do this and i wanted to make sure since i been playing my sub at full power for like 4 hours total since i had it and i can tell the sub is not real stiff after playing it for a while ?

Whats up SSA! I have 2 Ascendant Audio Mayhem 15's running on a Soundstream dtr 1.3400 at .25 ohm (3400 rms @ .5 2200 rms @ 1ohm) I have the subs in around 6.2 cubic ft net and they get loud but im itching to get louder if i can... I can get 3 American Bass HD 15's dual 1's and wire to .67 ohm... But can i just make another hole in my box? Thats the most airspace available. Goals.. Hit 150 db (currently 149.1) Should i keep the 2 15's or get 3 ? If its a bad question/ idea input on that would be apreciated Thanks

I have a set of PPI 356CS components up front and they sound wonderful, but after tuning my amp with my DD-1 I found that the tweets just aren't capable of handling the power i'm giving them. I'm running them off a CDT Audio SQ4100 at 4 x 100....the comps are rated at 120rms per side so i'm not able to turn them up as loud as I should be able before the tweets just start screaming and sounding nasty so I want to upgrade the tweets with something that'll fit into the existing hole in my door panel (am willing to do a little mods to get it to fit if needed). So I'd like a tweet that can handle at least 90rms and isn't very deep, I only have about 1.5" clearance back there. …

Box is small,.6-.75 and is sealed.I know that it won't give out the sort of output like a ported would, but I don't have room for a huge box.Looking for a mix of loud and good sound if that is possible.600rms @2ohm on hand. $150 price, give or take a few bucks.Thinking I can get a decent used one.

Just wondering why the majority of subwoofers have a lower QTS and designed more for a vented enclosure. Yes, you will see maybe +3db from a vented vs a sealed similar enclosure, but is that always that crucial? I've built plenty of sealed enclosures in the past that have sounded great, and had great curves. Plus the you have the advantage of a smooth roll off, and generally allows for higher power usage with its better cone control. Then you have to think that many users don't know about subsonic filters and freq tuning. I'm not being biased towards any enclosure, they all have their uses whether sealed, vented, band pass, isobaric, free air, etc but it just seems that…

Ok a lil background, puttin together a system for my rsx and so far I've got 2 18" Xcons (putting them in separate sealed boxes because both won't fit in the car without folding the seats down) with either a crescendo 3500 our a used saz 3500. For the front I've got polk audio mm 6.5" components and for the back seats mm 5 and a quarter coax. For electrical I've got a mechman 270 alt and two xs batteries. My question is whether I should get a set of morel maximo 6's and a set of morel 5c's. I've seen a lot of people say good things about the morel's I'm just wondering if it would be worth it since I already have the polks. I would try both to see which ones I like and se…

I have a PDX-1.1000 and I would really like to try a Sundown sub for the first time. Can I run the 1.1000 to a single SA10 in a ported box? Will it handle all the power from the amp?
