Couldnt have been any more easy to work with. We shall call the build "SEXCONS" as per my wifes instructions (oh yeah!)

Well I made an impulse trade today and decided to trade my Fi BL. I picked up 2 JL Audio W6's for the BL. So far they sound very good and the difference in SQ between the BL and the W6 is not even close. Overall I'm pretty happy with these subs, and I will have more to say about them when I get a box built for them. I will probably send these bad boys to PSI to get them upgraded too

well not really funny but the guys at the tire shop got one hell of a laugh out of my visit. So I went to get my tire patched do to a nail. No biggie right? well after they patch it they call me out there and show me my back tire how it is worn badly on the insides. And they are less than a year old. So we start talking about what caused it, and they say it is probably the alignment since they were just rotated and use to be on the front and the front ones show a little wear also. Well they throw it up and put the machine on it to align it. They then come back inside and he asks me "Do you tend to carry a heavy load around often? cause your back end is really low." Well …

So I just recently put in some new passive comps in my car powered by about 70 watts rms and they just arnt cutting it anymore right now i have an Alpine cda9886 and infinity kappa conponents and an mtx 2 channel. I want to go active the deck would probably be changed to the alpine cda 9887 and i would need a 4 channel amp (suggestions are very welcome) or a 5 channel(under 200 for the 4 channel or 400 for the 5 channel). I was looking at the mach5 Mli-65's in the door but i dont have any idea what tweeters to go with i dont like very harsh tweeters, and any other suggestions you guys would have would be so helpful. …

Hey Nick, how well do you think the 15 will work IB? And what about power? I'm thinking about 300. My car is already setup to be run IB, so it's merely a matter of building a baffle. Has anyone ever run a Mag IB?

Well this wknd I got so pissed off... you know the type where you want to distroy the world. Anyway I through a remote(big TV remote) and the bastard thing smached into my sub busting the dustcap and slightly denting the top of the coil. Now Im going to try and fix it but need to know if i can use a domed dustcap where the previous one was inverted. will it change the sound/performance alot? was planning to use it for an SPL project as this budget sub gets louder then my BL and can take the abuse. It cant take a direct hit from a remote though. would appreciate your imput.

I was going to save a bit of cash and order some Exodus Anarchy's, but lo and behold a nice little pair of Faital Pro 6FE200's have fallen into my lap. I'm looking for tweeter suggestions. I will probably be mounting off axis in sails or a pillars. Budget is under $150 for the pair. $150 being absolute maximum.

Alright guys, I'm about to get a whole lot of xmas money with it being my last xmas at home (senior in high school) so I want a really nice front stage. They will be getting no less than 125wrms and mounted in the doors of my explorer with plenty of SDS,. I'll go as high as 400 bucks. I do have a pair of Pre-2008 Hertz HSK-165's in the box that I'll probably throw in the rear (i know, not fair.) and I'm currenty looking at the newest HSK-165's or RE Audio XXX components. I mainly just want you guys to throw some names out there so I can go do some research. Any hands on experience or reviews would be greatly appreciated. My subs will be 2 Sundown SA-12's ported LOW (27-2…

So I've heard some amazing things about this sub and willing to plunge into if you guys can agree and give some advice... Review Info I've found: DIYMA Caraudio.com Current sub amp is a Kenwood KAC-X810d - I believe these stats are: 12v output : 300w @ 4ohms or 600w @ 2ohms 14v output : 400w @ 4ohms or 800w @ 2ohms I used to have a dual bandpass setup with 2 10" JLs and feel I've outgrown the boomy sound and low sq... w3 version of the JL sub btw... I am looking at the SSA Dcon 12" and was wondering if it can take the 600w daily because this is my ride to work... If so I would purchase the Dual 4ohm version and run the amp at 2ohms knowing fully that I might not…

hi, today i heard some horns because i wanted to see how loud they really are compared to normal speakers and i didn't think they sounded that bad it was just that they lacked midbass so i was wondering would it sound weird to have a horn and a midbass driver for a front stage and have normal speakers in the back( componots [i don't need to know that having rear speaker messes up imaging because i already know plus i already made holes for current speakers in my rear deck cover for the tweeters])

I just made a deal on a PPI PC2350 (thanks tirefryr for the heads up) and am going to build a new box for my mag to go with it. Right now my 15 is in a 2 cuft sealed box and I can hear that I need it in a little bigger of a box to get lower. Would 3 cuft be too much sealed? I can't wait to hear how this baby sounds with 1400 watts being thrown at it.

I am planning on doing 6 DB DRIVE plw12d2's in a 4th order enclosure because im getting a good deal on them. I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever used DB DRIVE before or seen a set up with them and what they thought. I have 2 right now on 600 watts ported and they don't really move at all and it metered somewhere around 138 (can't remember exactly). They are rated for 1,000 rms each and i had 1,000 going to the pair for about a week to see what they would do and it metered at 143.1 so they don't seem to be too bad. I talked to a couple people on other forums about these subs and everyone is saying that they are pretty impressive if you put 1,000 - 1,200 on …

  15. RE's website claims 88.7dB/1w/1m SPL for the 10" SEXv2, but only 84.4dB on the 15" version. 1) Wouldn't that mean that at any given power level, the 10" would be louder? 2) That sounds unreasonable, so either I'm wrong or there's a typo? http://www.reaudio.com/products/woofers_sex_v2.php

  16. So I get tired of the "why?" and "that's just a stupid waste" so i just go and do my own thing. But here, tell me what YOU would do to get MY results. (not yours). I want super mad lows. 18Hz-29Hz. I do NOT care about 30Hz-60Hz for the sake of this argument. From 29Hz on DOWN. I have no HO alt (yet). I have 4 guage wiring all the way around. I have a BXi2608D that I do NOT have to use all of. I can easily turn the gains down so I get a super clean super easy 600 watts RMS if I want, but I have up to 2600 if I NEED it. I have 38" tall in front available, 32" tall in back, 42" wide to use up all of my hatch for an enclosure, wall preffered. I spent $240 shipped. IF I had an…

Well, finally finished. Excuse the crappy pics from my crappy camera. THe entire enclosure/rack will be pulled out in the winter to be painted body color with a little extra special touch as well. I'll start with the HU Simple ALpine CDA-7892. Cheap, sounds decent, and has all the processing this car needs for its owner. Next, Vifa PL 7" in the door and a Peerless tweet in the A-pillar. This guy is not worried about soundstage at all so these were pretty easy. Find a spot, slap em in and I'm done. Notice I wrapped the crappy stock grills with some cloth. I think this really cleaned up the look. And the crossovers for these. They are located in the stock rear spe…

A few months ago I replaced all speakers in my car. I have 4" pioneer TS-A1072r speakers in the front doors and 6.5" Pioneer TS-A1673r on the rear deck. The rear speakers are fantastic but the front ones are extremely quite in comparison. The front speakers are also a lot quieter than the crappy stock speakers. At normal listening levels the majority of sound is coming from the back speakers. The front speakers only reach a reasonable level after turning the volume up more than halfway. Since my headunit only has one output (which i'm using from my sub amp) I cant adjust the fader without it affecting the sub. This was my first time installing speakers. On the rear speake…
