Question 1) I might be purchasing a used Magnum and wanted information on its Power Handling. Does Stereo Integrity offer such information? Question 2) If I wire only one voice coil and terminate the second coil with a resistor (potentiometer) to vary the driver's Q in a sealed box, how much power can I send to one voice coil?

*Disclaimer* I suck at writing reviews. *Disclaimer* I threw the D2's in my car today. They are in the same box that I used for my kappa perfects. 5 cubes net, 70 square inches of port tuned to 28 hz. Total volume 7.3 cu. ft. I am running them at 300 RMS each from my KX650.4 (mid amp) LOUDNESS I've been without subs for probably 5-6 months. But since then I've had the pleasure of listening to ALOT of loud systems. 18 XXX, 15" Brahma Extreme, 15" MT are the most notable, as I spent the most time listening to them. That being said... as it is currently, I don't find this setup to be that loud. But it must be taken into consideration that I'm not running these anywher…

I'm building a midgate box for my avalanche and I'm looking for a good "SQL" Sub. The box is 3.8 net after port tuned to 31hz with roughly 38 sq in port (3-4" PVC 24" long). I'm going to go with a dual 12" set up or a single 15". Looking at 12" Dcons or Gcons if the box size will work or 1-15" Icon. Sub(s) will face the seat and port will be in the bed. Going to run a BRX1600 or BRX2000 depending on which sub. 60/40 on sq vs spl. Need some opinions. Thanks.

I am currently running two 12" JL w3s in my car and I am planning on upgrading. I want to be able to hit lower frequencies and have louder bass. I was looking at buying 2 13.5" JL w6s when I discovered Fi's subwoofers. I have watched a few videos and searched online and I was hoping that someone here could give me some advice. I was going to get a ported box and whatever amps and wiring necessary to make the subs sound good. What will have better sound quality and what will be louder overall? 1 12" Fi BTL or 2 13.5" JL w6s?

I am getting either two 12" fi q's or two 12" fi bl's and i was wondering if the rockford fosgate t.1500 amp is enough to power them and if the bl's are a big difference over the q's and how loud they are. I care about sound quality but if the q's are a lot quiter i would rather just go louder and get the bl's

Just like the title says, what is the "best" port area for a 12" H2? Box is going to be 2.5 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Running off a bx1500d.

Anybody have an idea how the 12" icon will sound for rock in and enclosure tuned this high or have any suggestions for an enclosure/tunning made for rock/metal. I read this woofer gets real low but was wondering if i could build another enclosure to swap out just for rock and metal.

Working on redoing my previous setup to adjust it for my new car. My previous car was a mustang and i had the setup in the trunk on about 1400w at 1ohm. Sub is a 12" ICON in a sealed enclosure. For the new car, its a hatchback so it should be louder anyways. The alternator/battery isn't as strong as the mustang's was and its not really something i'm looking to upgrade right now. On the mustang I was running a cap which helped with the dimming (yea yea.. i know about caps, but it worked out for that setup). On this car, i'd like to do away with the cap. The thought is to run the amp (audioque 1200d) at 4ohm instead of 1ohm. It would drop the power down to 510w (…

I'm considering purchasing a 12" Icon. I'm currently running two 12" Infinity subs with a Kenwood amp (KAC-9105d 900w rms x 2ohms) and need to know if it has enough power to make this Icon sound decent? I want to upgrade amplifiers but don't have the money for everything right now. I would run this single Icon in a sealed enclosure (I'm not a big fan of "boomy" ported enclosures) and would like for it to hit hard on bass drums, accurately reproduce bass guitar, and respond well to industrial and electronic dance music *I know, I'm asking for the moon* the occasional drum and bass ect. . . all being able to be heard going down the freeway with all the windows open. So,…

At the moment I'm in the market for a new sub. I've narrowed it down to the ICON or a SSD. I read a really nice review on the ICON on DIYMA that fell into my power range. Now on to my question. With stated power which would be a better choice ICON or SSD+copper coil? Box is dependent upon driver selection.

I know the website recommends box specs at 2 cubes net tuned to 32. However, I think that the literature I received with the sub said 2.3 cubes net tuned at 30. I am sure that either will work. This will be my first ported box (don't worry, I am not building it myself) and I admittedly don't know any more than what I have read. Anyway, my question is, which way should I go with this -- 32 or 30? If it helps, I am more into sq than spl. (And would it even make that much of a difference?)

Hello Everyone I have a 2.2 cu ft sealed enclosure (after displacement) and I was wondering if the new Mag would sound good in it. I have a PRSX720 amp that gives out 800 watts RMS @ 4 ohms thanks

I see that the recommended enclosure is 2.0 ft^3 tuned to 29hz for the 12" D2. I want about 50/50 with sq and spl...so yeah, i want LSQ . What difference would a bigger box (about 3 or 4 cubes) make? What should I tune it to? I will be running 1000w to it @ 1ohm. This is my first car audio system so bare with me here . I appreciate your help guys! Thanks, -harrison

In the 2.0 cubic foot recommended box, how much power can they stand for burping? At what point does the added power stop increasing SPL? I am wondering the difference in 600 wat per driver to maybe 2000 per drive on a burp . Which may be somewhat "extreme".

I know that this post maybe useless to some ppl, and I may not even get a single response but here goes. I am planning to purchase either a single 12" or 15" IA Death Penalty for my application. It will be going into a 2000 dokota ext.cab and am running the AQ2200 in either a 2.5 cb.ft net for the 12" or 3.75 cb.ft net for the 15". I was woundering which would play the low end with more authority. The reason for my asking is for a 15" enclosure, the enclosure will take up most all of the cab space under the glass (no wall). I believe that with so much room taken up, it would give the sound less surfaces to bounce of giving a more boomy sound than low end. Whereas with a 1…

I want to do the package deal for the xcon and the sundown 1500. This is a daily driver (300C) so I obviously want sound quality (which is why I assume the xcon is a good choice). Although my main focus is to hit the lows with some really strong output, because I listen to rap. I don't want to fold the seats down either, but there is a stock 8" in the back that I'm going to take out, which should help the sound in the cab. There is enough space in the trunk to build the optimal sealed or ported enclosure for the 12" and but only for the optimal sealed for the 15" So my questions are. - is this too much for the trunk, or too little (or the best option?) - should I run a …

Wassup guys I'm doing a port swap in the next few days and trying to get opinions/suggestions. I have a box 39.5h x 41.5w x 13.5" d (outer dimensions) with a port 12h x 10w x 40" l which gives me 6.8 cubes tuned at 31hz with 17.75 port per cube. It's just not giving me as much pressure I want on lows. The new port is 12" o.d. Pvc (11.5" I.d.) x 36" l with 2-4" external. This will give me about 8 cubes tuned at 29 with 14.25 p.p.c. I don't have anything to lose, and I'm not building a new box until I design a 6th. So what are your thoughts on what I have now?

My friend wants to purchase my 1.8 cu ft ported enclosure tuned to 30 hz along with my MTX amplifier that is rated at 400 watts RMS. He also wants to purchase a 12" Re Audio subwoofer. Which sub would you recommend to him if he had the setup I mentioned above? Would he be underpowering the SE while reaching full potential with the SR? He is not really into SQ as I am, but he wants his bass to be loud and extremely low. Which sub would be better off with 400 watts RMS? Thanks

Is 2.5 cu ft too big for a 12" RE Audio SR subwoofer? RE recommends 1.5 cu ft tuned to 35 hz. I have it in a 1.7 cu ft ported box tuned to 30 hz and it doesnt move like its suppose to. I have 400 watts RMS on it. Getting another amplifier is out of the question. I want my sub to be more efficient and have a more extended lower end. I just dont want it to sound bad (or get "boomy"). Thanks
