Anybody ever hear of this company? All they make is extremely high priced speakers and a single 10, 12 and 15. They claim to build very high efficient spl subs but the cost is ridiculous. For instance, they have a 10" sub that only uses a 2" coil, rated at 400wrms but goes for $1,000 new, $800 on ebay or $500 if you are sponsored. Here is their site- www.acshockwave.com

Well as Sean knows, I've been beating myself up over what speakers to replace my Blose in my 06 Silverado. Some of these questions are truck specific that I know Sean will be able to answer and the rest I'm sure theres a handful of you that can chime in. I finally am deciding on the Pioneer 720prs's but have very little knowledge in what to do for the install. -The bose are 6.5's and the 720's are 6.75's so I'm not sure what I'll need to do exactly to fit the 720's - I have a JL 300/4 and a Avic D3 for the speakers to pair up with, but what exactly will I need to do? Is it as simple as: -take out old speakers, screw in new (or will I need to make a baffle out of MDF …

Been a long time out of the scene, so I'm trying to bring myself up to speed on stuff. I recently purchased a 1985 Cavalier convertible and the stereo has got to go! I'm not young anymore, married, kids, but won't settle for crap, so I'm looking mostly at SQ, but needs to be fairly loud since it's a convertible. The cavalier has an open area behind the center console, and I can fit an 8" behind there and tuck the enclosure under the dash on the passenger side. I think it'll be a fun/challenging project. Issue is, what 8" to go with?? It has to be sealed, small and handle up to 400w (Soundstream Continuum is 200w x 1 @ 4ohm). Was considering a Kicker Solobaric at fi…

I am goin to be buying either 12" or 15" speakers, i dont really know what to buy, do you recomend goin for 1 18" or 2 12s or even 2 15s? Money is a lil tight, but ive been trying to get a second one. I also need to know about a amp and a box so i know what i need to get and save (money wise). I was thinking for a amp, either a Soundstream or a Rockford Fosgate. If you think there is a better, cheaper and produces more power please let me know. My budget for speakers is about 800-850, then for a amp 500-700. For 2 12" BTL i think its 728 if im not mistaken. Hope you can help, il be loggin ALL of my work, IM A BEGINNER TOO!! il also be doing the BIG3 and the car i own is a…

ok. right now i currently have 2 12 inch PG xs series subs that hit pretty hard. but, i want MORE. in feb-march, im thinking im gonna re-do the sub part of my system, so im looking for suggestions as to what brands i should look at. i do want to compete, but, correct me if im wrong, but if you have 15 inchers your in a different class right? i would want to stick with eather 2 or 4 12's, or possibly 2 15's if i can get some killer LSQ/spl from them. these subs would be daily drivers, but not turned all the way up. thanks for all the replys!

I'm leaning toward a Zcon 18. But , I have a few questions. First, would the z work in a fiberglass enclosure? I would like it to be an aesthetically pleasing enclosure as well as perform. Just want to make sure that beast won't destroy my box. Second, I listen to everything and was wondering if the z will keep up with all my music choices? Not really chasing numbers but, wouldn't mind doing well if I chose to enter a comp. It's going in a 91 dodge ramcharger. Will be powered by 2 planet audio ac5000.1d's ( 1600W rms each) strapped.

For years I've been obsessed with InfraLow bass. OK, not sub-sonic anymore...now 20-30Hz. I've had so many debates, and I've gotten so much critisizm for tuning "too low". The best way to argue would be...is there information on music CD's from 20-30Hz? I've had this discussion before, but no one had any solid proof. People with frequency spectrum analyzers said "Akon and Young Jeezy's Soul Survivor only goes down to 33Hz". When you play it on an analyzer, it shows a PEAK low of 33Hz. When you play a 33Hz test tone, it doesn't show 33Hz! Here are some songs that I believe to have information well below 30Hz: Hail Mary, Tupac Shakur, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theo…

I'm looking for recommendations for a sub. I've got a .82 cubic ft custom sealed fiberglass enclosure and a Polk Audio PA400.1 which does 300w at 2ohm - actual output could be a little higher from what I've read. I'm looking to spend under $200. I like to have some "thump" but accuracy is far more important. I had a ID12d2v2 from about 5 years ago but that one's done. Here's my list so far: SSA DCON AA Assassin RE Adutio SR JL AUdio 12w3 Soundsplinter RL-i Polk Audio MM1240d Any help would be appreciated.

My friend just got a 01 golf gti and wants a straight SPL sub. I told him just run a 12 since he wants to keep some space. What is a good all out SPL sub for daily loudness? His budget is $500. He doesn't care about sound. Also power will be off a 2k either dc or crescendo.

In our roto-xmas draw names, I drew my sis and bro-in-law. We cap our spending at $100, but I will break it a bit if logical. They have a 20 Sea Ray runabout and are putting a stereo in it before summer. I have an old Pioneer amp that is about 90x2 at 2ohm that I don't want and will give them, but would like to buy a subwoofer to go with it. Being it is a 2chn, DVC would be great. Since it won't have tons of power a fairly effecient driver would be great, space is fairly minimal so something that works well in a small ported box would be ideal. What would you guys do?

I could really use some advice here. I have a 2014 2500 Ram that I need to decide what route to take on subs and enclosure. This truck has two cavities in the floor area under the back bench seat. Fox Acoustics makes a box for it that’s molded to fit the area. It gives you 1.55 cu feet per side and it’s tuned to 35 HZ. You can do a pair of 10’s or 12’s but limited to a mounting depth of 7.25” and the magnet must be no more than 6.5” in diameter to work. They also do another box that has a center console for the rear built into this box. It let’s you use 4 10’s and the box is 4.3 cu feet and tuned to 34 HZ. Mounting depth is 7” max and the magnet diameter you can use is 7…
