  3. Where do i even start, when considering a subwoofer? i dont want very loud booming base. just enough to round out the sound. to produce lower frequencies and make it sound better. I have the ability to bridge 2 channels on my amp (Pioneer GM-D8604) for 300 RMS at 4 ohms or 250 RMS at 2 ohms. also, isnt this weird? i thought at a lower ohm, it would be able to produce more power? i guess you use whatever ohm the subwoofer is rated at? any difference between subwoofers rated at 2 ohm vs 4 ohm? What about size of woofer? 8 inch, 10, or 12, etc? i believe larger woofer produces more bass, can be louder. but also requires more RMS to power larger woofers. W…

Hi guys, I need 2 12" subs for a friend of mine. He has an MTX TE 4000 to run them. He doesn't really know what to get. He drive a small car (renault Clio) with a hatchback. He will be able to fit a 3 to 3.5 ft3 ported box in his trunk. He's still undecided ! AA Mayhems are his first choice, but I asked Some info about the DC Level 4 xl, and he saw the Orion HCCA. He seems to like the Orion. But we never listened to any of those subs. What do you think about those 3. I think the Orion is not the best choice, but when he reads the specs, he likes them : low Fs, high sd, big motor !!! What can I tell him to choose? All those 3 are in the same budget , with shipping.

  9. SO I go to investigate and she's crying. "Feed me," she says. "I cannot survive on these measly shreds of RF garnishing." This brings tears to my eyes! I must find some food or baby will suffer in agony. My hunt begins! I search for months for a solution to her starvation and she grows weary every day. Then one day I stumble upon the tax man. "Here some money from Uncle Sam my friend. Take this now as I will be collecting more next year." Thanks Uncle Sam! What would I do without you??! So I run home in the excitement, eager to please my baby and feed her so she can grow to be a Strong and Powerful Mag. A couple weeks pass and the little one has been anticip…

2x Level 3 12's with an AQ 1200d amp, the box is little more than 4 cubes tuned to 39.5 hz, off some tones i was able to do a 139.9, and then some tuning bumped me up to 140.0 db, sealed with TL on the window. The hard part is its in a 4 dr car which are f*ckn hard to get loud, but we shall see what this setup can do when tuned to 43-44 hz, should have results Thursday with some pictures.

Hello Now I have two kicker CVX's In a 4 ft box that is 1 foot at the bottom and 6 inches across at he top and is one foot tall. Now how do i find out what it is tuned at ? Also i keey hearing a Small Buzzing like vibration comming from the box. I Think it's the sub it self I just bought these subs and are new. This isnt the driver is it ? i mean i dont think it's coming from the capacitor or the amp that are screw down to the box. But it might be Or Do kicker subs just make this sound ? My CVR's did the same thing but it was the Driver side sub. Now the sound comes from the passanger side. I currently have my gain on my kicker 750.1 set so if you are looking at the su…

  13. Hey guys I haven't a system like this ever. I have http://www.atrendusa.com/bbox/vehicle-specific-carpeted/dodge?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=203&category_id=59. So only like .6ft^3 each. I need some subs that are no more than say $130 each and will work with 250-300 each. I thought about reusing my amp the jl xd 500/3 300x1 at 2 ohm. But I don't think that will be enough power for 2 subs. I need to watch the mounting depth as well. No more than 5.75" with vented pole piece. I thought about JL 10w1v3 or 10w3v3. Im not a big fan of jl subs but they work great in this enclosure size. It is going in a 2007 dodge ram 1500 quad…

okay, i have gotten myself confused here, need some help fellars. oh, and only moderate flamming of the equipment here, it is not mine! lol American Legacy LA-2278 amplifier, 2 ohm stable @ 450 watts....... Three(3) Kicker CompVR 12"s , I believe they are 2 ohm DVC., 400 W.RMS...... If they are indeed 2 ohm. DVC., I will wire them parallel / series, so a 3 ohm. load on the amp..... if for some reason we find that they are 4 ohm. DVC., then the wiring will be series / parallel , which is a 2.67 ohm. load. ........ the question is, how many watts will the subs be seeing? I am assuming that there is a good chance that the amp will not do it's true rated power, but for all g…

Vehicle: 2003 Acura RSX Budget: $300-$450 Amp: NVX JAD800.4 Im looking to keep it simple and go passive with Two 6.5' components per door, & One tweeter per door. Will be having a fellow friend with experience fabricating doors do the install. So far Ive from a quick search, Im looking at the Incriminator Audio I6.5c's, or Image Dynamics ID65CS components...Anyone have any experience with either of these or any other suggestions? Pretty set on doing only one tweeter per door, any info on going with only one or going 2 per door would be great.

  21. i just put the order in for a 12 d2!!! now i must have the box ready when it gets here!!! so her is what i have to work with *i have a 2003 mustang and a hifonics 1500d *i want to go ported around 3.0 with a tuning of about 32-29 ( i need help there) * i listen to mainly rap so i want a loud loud bass! the box i have in mind is a 14hx31x16d which equals 3.091 internal volume. -when i get ready figure out port tuning, will i put in the calc that the box is 3.0 or 2.7 due to the port and driver displacement? -what is the difference between tuning to 29 or 32 sound wise? -is 3.0 internal volume to big for a mag? -would i be wrong for just spraypainting the box instead of c…

Hey, its been a while since I've posted here. I've been running a maw-15 ported for the last year or so, and i'm really happy with it. I just got a new car and need to downsize a little, so I was thinking about going with the 12" ixl. THere doesn't seem to be much info out there about them, except the review on here. With higher power handling, higher xmax, and just better quality overall, I'm not too worried about the output or sound quality being any less than my maw-15. Am I right? And what would be a good ported box for these? Thanks

  23. I am putting bigger sub stage in my 08 EC sierra. These trucks have terrible floorboards under the rear seat, so the "only way" (short of custom fiberglass, etc) to get any space/depth was to build a box behind the console/in front of seat. It is sub up and external 4 in port going under the seat. It yeals a gross of 1.1 cubes, and can be tuned as low as 30. So, I am going back and forth between a Fi SSD and BL. It looks like this fits better in the BL's range of box size. I am going to run 1200 watts (stock electrical, wanna leave some room for midrange amp). So will the BL be both louder (higher efficiency) and perform better as the box is on the higher side of it…
