Now that my system has begun we are looking to build hers. Just on saturday she decided she wanted to start a system for her Kia Soul. This was decided when she bought an Alpine MRX-M55 amp because it was on sale at one of local shops.$230 canadian. I was surprised but happy. She bought it then asked if it was a good deal and a good amp. Guy at store recommended it to her. I figure good amp for that price. Anyways lol. Looking at Fi X12 or Gcon 12 to pair with this amp. She loves metal, Club and yes Bieber LOL so pretty much all types of the bass range. I'm thinking Gcon but she says why not the one you got which was Fi. Any input or other recommendations appreciated…

Seen the vvx can be ran in small sealed boxes and know the play lowend pretty good.. Figured i may switch from 1 18 to 2 15 due the fact of more cone area.... Amp is a mmats dhcx2200.1

  3. Sorry, but i dont know the terminology for it but it the big ol rubber ring, and it has very small scratches on it, and it is thinner in this one spot. It still has plenty of rubber, and there is no hole yet, but i am afraid it may rip when i play it loud. I dont know how it got like this, but it have happened when i moved. So should i replace now it or what until it completly rips to replace it, also which one would you recomend, and how would i install it. I have a Fi Q12, and a memphis 16-PRD 1000.1, all in a 2.25^3 cuft custom box ported to 32 hz.

alright guys so i was pretty much set on 4 sa-10's in the trunk of my civic for my next project i want to do...until i came across the AA arsenal. I see that the arsenal works well in a smidge smaller ported enclosure which is good and also i see that the arsenal has a sensitivity of about 85db 1w/1w and the sa-10 is around 81 i believe. Not too sure how big of a difference that would be but on paper it looks pretty good haha. So my question to you all that may have had one of these or installed any is what do you think of the AA arsenal? Is it more of a sq subwoofer or is it more of a spl sub. How would it compare to the sa-10? There pretty much in the same price range a…

So i just received my BTL about an hour ago, and since i just bought myself a nice touchscreen sony camera, i thought i would document the unboxing, install, and everything. But since i am a little frusterated with FI right now, i figure i would vent. I purchased a 12" btl back in December, and was 105% satisfied with quality and everything about the sub. I got bored of the 12" so i sold it and now moving up to a 15". But this time around, im left feeling a little doubtful about FI product. Ill post specs and then vent: BTL15 DUAL 1 | DUAL 2 Fs: 35.6 Hz | 34.6 Hz Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil Qms: 5.72 | 5.90 Qes: .24 | .22 Qts: .23 | .22 Mms: 256g | 272g …

Hi there. Just joined you all the way from a rather cold England. My name is Erskine and I have a very strong working interest in Bass Box Designs, anyway I have just been given two nice new Magnum D2's which I shall be putting into one of my tried and tested Three Chamber Internally Ported Reflex Boxes. As the D2's are two ohm per coil, have previous owners got a preference for the wiring options. Both coils in series or parallel and then both speakers in either series or parallel. I will be using a Genesis Monobloc rated at 1650wrms [1200wrms with my current electrical set-up] into one ohm and I am more of an SQ guy rather than out and out SPL. Just interested to hear …

I am looking for some suggestions on subs to replace the two Eclipse SW8100 series 12's I have now. Here is what I have: Kenwood DNX-7100 Audio Control Matrix Audio Control EQS Boston Acoustics ProSeries 6.0 (front) Powered by US Amps USA-4300x @ 3Ohm Bridged. I've seen a couple people such as DreDay256, sorry to name drop, running subs from fi or ssa as midbass. So to my question, what are the usable higher frequencies that can produce in a very linear line from your subs in a medium size box (either sealed or ported) fom say 60hz on up to.... What? They would be ran off an aq1200d. Looking for some ideas to think about while I still am thinking about my next build. Would be used between sub (1 18" fi q on a BC2000D, high pass set to 27hz low pass set at 70hz) and midrange 6ND430 that I've ran as low as 100 hz up to 1.5k off an aq1200d. Both amps sending clean signals. 220 amp alt, big 3, and 2 shuriken bats in back. Just loo…

  15. Hey guys its Max here I just thought I'd post and let you see for yourselves what the Magnum can really do when it comes to excursion, even though, strictly speaking, excursion isnt really that important, especially if you consider how important other parameters are. Anyhow. This a picture if a Mag 12" running off an RF1500bd in 1.8cubes tuned to around 30hz. Also, I thought Id let you know that we hit 141.7dB on the Termlab the other weekend with the Mag too, thanks to my buddy Bill's Termlab sensor You can all keep your RE's, eD's, JL's, RF's, Kickers - cos this thing does everything you'd want it to. Regardless what people think of its musical ability (a subjective s…

O.K. I currently have 2 jl 12w6d4 in a slot ported box designed to jl specs and I am thinkin of getting 2 mach5 15's. The jl's are being ran off a 1000/1 and hit well but I kinda want more spl. I'm not totally into spl but listen to a lot of rap/r&b. I have a guy wanting to buy my current setup along with my 300/4 so I will be starting over with sundown amps as well. Vehicle is 07 escape with front/rear consisting of memphis m series comps in front and rear 5x7's. If I run the 15's in a ported box on a sndwn 1000D will I lose a lot of SQ? I listen to some rock/alternative music on occasion. BTW, my HU is a pioneer 7800 and I have a kinetic 800 as a second battery in t…

I picked up some BNIB 10" Clarion subs for stupid cheap. In the owners manual they have box sizes listed for SQ sealed (.5 cubes) and SQ ported (.65 cubes). I've never seen SQ ported box recommendations before. Anyways, here's something else that was in the manual. I am trying to put together a 1st system for my little brother. He just turned 16 and has a 95 ford ranger reg. cab. This is his first system and I wanna make it pound for him. For front stage he has 6.5 components powered off a 50 x 2 amp, pioneer head unit. He listens to most everything but mainly rap and heavy metal. I have a eclipse Xa 1000d 300 x 1 @ 4 ohm and 480 @ 2 ohms. SO here is my problem. 1. limited budget 150.00 for sub 2. limited space reg cab ford ranger 3. I would like max output while sounding decent I appreciate any and all suggestions Chad

As of right now I have 2 dd1508s on a MB quart discus 1.5k. I'm looking to get rid of my 8s and upgrade to a single 15. Power output of my amp I'd 4ohm=375 2ohm=750 and 1ohm=1500. I have plenty of space to work with (olds bravada(blazer)). 2 agm deep cycles, and a 200a alt. Depending whether I sell them or trade them I was seeing what people would recommend on my power supply that is reasonable. Like I said I might not buy new if I can get a decent trade for them. Any ideas? (I know daily or spl will be asked and it needs to be all around. This is a daily driver but I do meca on weekends.)

As far as I can tell most people are mentioning 300-400watts for the Dcons which is fine for my current amplifier setup. Question is, if I upgrade to a JL 500/1 would it be overkill for the Dcon? I know seeing the full 500watts is probably not going to happen, but I would like to know if the Dcon can handle 500watts daily. Like 4hrs a daily 5 days a week. Also starting looking at the Mach5 IXL subwoofers since I see that as a similar recommendation when people are mentioning the Dcons. Any experince with either subwoofer would be great. I love Image Dynamics but cannot find anyone local(plus I h8 the local guys) who would just simply order through their shop, and I know t…

What are the advantages of running 1 8" mid versus running 2 6.5" mids up front? I'm looking for clarity, loudness, and width (of the stage I guess? I don't really listen to much that requires great staging). I can do the work to fit the 8 behind the panel but it will be up high. If I do 2 6.5's then one will be in the door and one in the kick. One 6.5 isn't giving me the volume I need...well it is, but only when it's crossed at 120+hz which sucks. Doors will treated and sealed minimally (Not keeping the vehicle for long.) Right now I'm not looking at any drivers in particular. I'd rather use passive sets (using only one tweet) because I don't have good enough x/o's. I ha…

  23. Hello everyone, New to the forum so I am sorry if this is in the incorrect section but I didn't see anything specific to enclosures. After talking to Aaron from SSA I have made the easy decision to purchase an SSA Xcon 12" very soon. He answered all my questions helping me out a ton. Hands down the best customer service I have dealt with. The customer service plus the fact that the SSA subwoofers are built in the U.S.A. made my decision easy. Alright on to my design. This design will be port/sub both firing up in my crew cab nissan titan. The net volume after all displacement is 2.59 cu ft tuned to 32.7Hz. It has a double baffle and I plan to build it out of 3/4" MDF. I…
