I have a 2004 tahoe and I am going to change my sub stage. My electrical consists of a 300 amp alt., 4 deka intimidators group 31 in the back, and a intimidator group 34 up front, big three, and two runs of 0 gauge. I want to spend around two grand and my goals are a nice, somewhat "musical" sounding daily driver with a lot of output. I am hoping to hit 150+ at 30 Hz eventually. But if tuning needs to be a bit higher that is fine with me, preferably around 32-33 Hz. I guess that would make me save my goal for another day, but ultimately something above 150 is what I want. The allowable dimensions for my box are roughly W49.5" by H27" by D35", although I am striving for l…

what are some good ground pounder subs? i have no plans in competing i just want something that have deep bass that can go low and sound good in the process... i have 8.3 cubes where the rear seats would be in my truck. i dont want to run no more than 5500 watts. Something that love low tuning would be great and my budget is $1200 max for just subs. the size of the subs really dont matter all that much. Im just trying to get different ideas on whats out there..I will be getting a box design from ram designs as soon as i make my mind up on subs

Alright, i am looking to build up a daily gp build. I was almost dead on a pair of 15's Sundown SA's to be specfic. I guess i am looking to spend around 550ish to 600ish on subwoofers. I am pretty sure i have roughly 14 cubes to work with in my jeep i'll have to double check in the morning but im pretty sure its around that range. I have a sundown saz 3000d to throw at whatever combo i end up going with. My goal is to be as close as 148-149ish on music dbs would be nice but i know a lot of factors play into that. Also i don't want to build a wall unless the gains were huge. I listen to mostly rock, heavy metal, as well as rap. Going in a 2001 grand cherokee limited, if …

I was wondering if a single Nightshade 18 would be at home in my trunk as my daily driver. I would really like to get loud n' low. I'm putting it on roughly 3kw. Any suggestions?? Anyone have experience with the subs in their trunks?

Gotta 92 deville and Im just trying to get the best bang for my buck. The seats dont fold down at all and it has that big ass metal piece blocking most all of the sound from getn into the cabin. So Im looking for a sub that gets loud and is able to take them lows. Im most likely going to have it port tuned at 32-34 hz.. Im leaning towards a fully loaded 12" FI Q, But Ive been looking at the 12 IA LI's also, They seem to get really loud and take the lows... Or possibly a SA 12? Whats ur opinion?

Well, I am/was using an e8a for sub duty in my dorm room. Well, playing nothing rediculus, it was working fine. Came back from lunch, turned on a little bass. Nothing. fudge. Soo, i pull it outa the box, i have came to the realization that one coil is screwed. I have one working coil on it, so I might just be using one coil till I get around to buying an Assassin 8...I wanted one of them, but now I have an excuse. holy crap. I liked this little woofer too. Is it possible to get a recone of it? Cliffnotes, One coil on my ED e8a is screwed, one works. Recone possible? Most likely buying an assassin 8 now. -Ryan

I have been running my IA Death Row 12 for about 4 months now. It is in a 2.1 cu ft box tuned to about 30 hz. I like how it sounds and like its output. I recently took a trip home (7 hrs) with my car loaded and thought what if I had to change a tire. I wouldn't be able to get my spare out without taking the box out. My backseat was also full of stuff and would have had to set the box out in the snow. I have been thinking about running two tens that work really well in small boxes. I have heard the Dayton subs and really like how they sound. Very clean and detailed bass. My only thing is that I do not want to lose much output by removing my Death Row for something…

  9. Am currently looking at subwoofers to upgrade from my lowly Powerbass S-10D's. Have been running a Lightning Audio 1001.d monoblock @ 1 ohm for the last year, and every time I get it cranking, the amp shuts off after 10-15 minutes, blowing fuses. I am running a 250 amp alternator, and a brand new 1000ca/800cca battery, with 1/0 run back to my distribution block, and a 14" 4ga run to the amp, with the big 3 under the hood. Will be adding a second battery, under the hood, as there is a second battery tray. I really don't want to run much more power than what I already have, as I don't want to get into having to add a dual alternator, or putting another battery in the back. …

Been searching and looking for a new build idea for this summer in my wagon and stumbled upon the dayon Um18-22 says it works well in 3cubes sealed and 4cubes ported tuned lowwwww which is what I prefer for both installs. Think this sound is promising for "Accurate Bass"? Something different.

I recently picked up the WT3 and have been playing around with it a bit. But I am a little unclear on a parameter I am supposed to enter in. When having it calculate VAS you need to enter in the Piston Diameter, What should I enter? ie 15 for a 15" driver, 12 for a 12" driver etc. OR Should I enter in a calculated diameter from the Sd? Example a 15" driver is ~12.64", 12" driver ~9.73" etc. Thank you.

Well usually when I'm at a stop light I turn my sub off so I don't annoy anyone. But some other guy was blasting his bass at the stop light. So I figure why not embarass him or give him a taste of his own medicine. I crank my 15" way up and a matter of seconds later he stopped playing his. Then when I stopped playing mine he tried turning his up and so I cranked mine up and left it cranked up. It was pretty fun. Wasn't anywhere near my house so no worries of getting ripped off. The best part was the guy was probably running 2 10's or 2 12's as he had blazer style truck and couldn't keep up. By the way, don't know if I posted this or if I thought about posting it, …

Hmmmm, i want to get the most of my system. I love the really really deep ground shaking bass. My current set up is 2 Magnum D2 12s running off a Tsunami 1800T. My enclosure is a lil bit more than 2 cu ft each and its tuned @ around 29-30hz. It gives me lots of the ground shaking bass i love, but i thought i would be hitting higher numbers than what im hitting. Last time i had a chance with a mic i hit 142.3 I thought that was really good, because i was thinking it was the termlab. It was actually an AC. I just found that out. Now im disappointed. I see many people on the boards who have a similar set up, but are hitting way higher numbers. I just finished a competiti…

I know you are not suppose to take efficiency into consideration but what if you were comparing 2 different subs from the same company? I had been thinkin about goin with 4 Lvl4 15s and they have an efficiency rating of 89.4 The Lvl4 XL 18s have an efficiency rating of 94.77?!?! So... 4 15s efficiency should be 95.4 and 2 of the 18s should be 97.77... am i to assume that the 2 18" XLs are gonna kill the 4 15s? I know 4 15s may have more surface area but efficiency plays a role in that and apparently, it doesnt apply here. Lookin for some crazy numbers in the lanes and just wonderin if i'm bout to buy the wrong thing...
