First off this thing looks so much nicer in person than the website pics. it also has a ton of clearance for excursion, hopefully the pics show it. here are some box specs for those interested.... 10" .3ft has F3 of 42hz, .5ft has f3 of 35hz, .75 has f3 of 32hz and 1ft has f3 of 30hz. 12" .5ft has f3 of 45hz, .75ft has f3 of 38hz, 1.0 has f3 of 35hz, and 1.5ft has f3 of 31hz. some bandpass designs are included but once again in the manual it states that this sub is not for traditional ported boxes. Overall i'm very impressed with the build quality and i've grown to love the look of it. Hope to have a review up soon.

I don't think I will be buying a new sub anytime in the relatively near future but I do want to upgrade eventually. I currently have a 10" type r and I love it but I wouldn't mind something a little louder. I care more about quality than loudness. The problem with my type r is that it can be hard hearing really low notes. I drive a 97 corolla at the moment. I was looking at the fi q but i'm not sure if my electrical system would be able to handle the 1000w rms. Maybe with a capacitor? I don't want anything that will take up all the space in the trunk so i'd like to stick with 1 sub. A 12" sub to go in sealed box is what I should be looking for right? I know a lot of you o…

In light of keeping this from heading down the path of a this vs that thread I will just get right down to it. Currently I have two JL W6v2's sealed powered by a Sundown sax1200d. I originally bought the W6's from my buddy for one hell of a deal (2 subs in a box for $250). I originally told him that if and when he got back into car audio I would be willing to sell them back to him. As great as the W6's sound I am looking for more output while using the same amp. Currently I have a sealed box. About 1.25 after sub displacement and 9 inches for mounting depth. I know everyone wants loud bass while sounding great at the same time, but is there a sub that will be louder on th…

http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_produc...s.jsp?cid=16975 i am working on saving up some money for a new setup. i know i have posted here before looking for subs and here i am, still looking, sorry. i am very indecisive anyways, i think i have brought my decision down to getting one 12". considering ported but if i go sealed i can make the box myself and it would be cheaper. i am really liking this setup above, i have been looking at type R's and it is ported and most tuned correctly. only problem is i cant find any info on it. cant find what it is tuned to or anything. i am going for SQ/LSQ. i guess i will throw in some of the other choices i have been looking at.…

Will be doing 2 in my Excursion so cubes arent really that much of an issue. Which one and why or suggestions of others not on this list but currently looking at RE XXX, ZCon, BTL or nightshade. Going to use Crescendo power 5500s havent picked mid bass or highs for up front either but going with a Pioneer double din more than likely. So any and all help appreciated advise me what you would use and why. I listen to a broad array of music rap, rock, country, metal, death metal, techo, trance and even classical sometimes. Im getting into this game a bit late being almost 40 but its something Ive always wanted to do. Again any and all help setting this project up is gre…

  11. Im looking to upgrade my current set up. Ive narrowed down my choices to ether a DC level 3 15, FI SSD 15 with cooling and flatwind coil (which ive heard are comparable to a level 4), and an Incriminator Audio Lethal Injection 15. Ive seen a lot of bs saying that the DC subs dont have good quality soft parts and am looking for some people that have ran these subs before that might be able to give me some insight to help my decision. Basically im looking for the best sub on the lows that can take a daily beating. I have a 3.3 cubic ft box tuned to 34hz in my BMW 330ci and will be pushing around 1100rms daily from my audiopipe 1500d but will be upgrading the amp in the …

  14. I'm planning on adding an amp & sub to my 2012 Ford Focus and am probably over-thinking it. I'm primarily looking at a single SA-12 D4 but I'm open to suggestions. Yellow & white lines are sealed enclosures based on Sundown's specs and a 0.707 Qtc enclosure. Bluish & pinkish lines are based on my calculations and Sundown's specs for a ported enclosure. I was originally leaning towards a sealed box since I was pretty happy with my previous sealed Pioneer 10s at 1cu ft ea & ~250W rms total. Now that I plotted out some graphs, I'm leaning towards the 1.8 cu ft box since it seems to have the best low end response. FWIW, I plan on pushing it with ~500W rms…

I hope its alright to put this here, since it is the SI forum and I'm part of SI and I'd really like somone that's a big time SI fan to get these. Your chance to get the only set of 327's ever built. The mids alone in this set cost nearly $200. These things have been lightly used and I'm selling because I simply don't have the room to put them in kicks. The mid is a 6" with a 1" textile dome tweeter and custom built/hand assembled crossover. Looking to get $250 plus shipping for the set.

I just noticed that Alpine improved their woofers and they seem to be much better than before. Alpine electronics With the addition of a pole vent, slimmer mounting depth, and bigger motor. I'm not really a fan of many mainstream manufactors but i'm curious to see how these do. Anyone hear about them yet?
