Correct me if I'm wrong, is it true that the more X-Max a sub has the louder it'll get sealed? If so, has anyone tried the FI Q series subs sealed yet? 27mm sounds like a really good amount of excursion. Was wondering because a friend of mine is considering a pair of them sealed with a 2000 - 2500 watt amp and he prefers sealed setups and wants a loud sealed setup with good SQ.

Ok guys, I need help deciding if I should get either an eclipse TI 12" or a crystal cmpx2(if I can even find one). Both will be sealed, probably be running off and orion 1200D, and inside a reg cab truck. opinions plz.

I have 2 PWX8 4 ohm and 2 FT1 4 ohm and a Hifonics BRX640.4 which is rated at 4 x 80 RMS @ 4 ohm or 4 x 160 RMS @ 2 ohm. Should I run each speaker to their own channel or should I run one tweeter and one speaker in parallel @ 2 ohm 160 watts?

before..... after.... well i had to send one of my 6.5's in to RE so i decided it would be a perfect time to mess w/ these. i had a couple of gouges where the screw driver had hit it. i also added about a 2" hole in the back of each one. i haven't got to here both of them together but from what i can tell, the one 6.5 has as much midbass as the both of them together...

Can I get input on my soon to be new setup? I have a fully loaded 15'' BTL and am wondering if the new alpine amp I bought should be hooked up to it..... Here are the basic specs on the amp... ok i know i said i was going to get the AA Havocs but ive been brought to light about the SSA Icons and i kno youtube videos do no justice but ive been trying to do a comparison between these two subs... does the SSA icon have a foam or rubber surround? which would sound better in a sealed box? Ported? which one would satisfy my audio needs... better yet which one would last longer? which would go better with a sundown 3000d

Are the IXL's available in a VC config that would allow two to be wired up at one ohm? I'm thinking of either a dual 10" or dual 12" setup and would have a one ohm stable amp. On that note as well, I don't see the IXL 10's on the mach5 website, only on the SSA, and I might as well order straight from Mark and not have to worry about duties.

I just got a new eclipse SW8102DVC alum and i want to get a ported box for it. I used a calculator on another forum and got 1.93ft @26 hz. This can't be right. Eclipse tech support told me 1.75 @40hz. If anybody has any experience with these, please help!!!

im looking for some 3.5 inch coaxials in dash of a Jeep Commander to complement some morel maximo 6x9's and 6.5's off stock head unit looking for something not too bright, with the right sound to match morels. So far looking at infinity ref, JL tr, JBl GTo and Boston S35s. What would you pick?

I am in the process of selling all of my audio equipment to start off with something new. I don't change systems like I change clothes, I kept my last setup for about 2 years. The question I currently have is this.... Which setup would have more output potential on the meter... assuming I have the optimal sized box and optimal power for both set ups 1.) 12 Very low strength subs... let's just say 12 inch subs 300 watts a piece 2.) 2-4 Very high motor strength subs... let's just say 4 18 inch subs 3000 watts a piece I've never used a sub that required less than a thousand watts, and have little experience with low power small subs. im thinking of getting 2 mag 2d 15's for my van I want SQ mostly listen to metal and rock so kick drum and bass guitar is important. size doesnt matter got most of the back of my hiace to fill up. so what size enclosure, ported/sealed, tuning, power ect. and maybe any nice amps you guys know of. I was thinking of getting 4, what you guys think of that? a waste of time? just thinking that if sealed is better for SQ then just get more subs for more spl. money isnt an issue. not buying right now but gota plan and see how much i need to save. and if you wouldnt mind could you explain tuning an enclosure for me i dont have a clue about it. thanks.

my friend just bought 2 type r's. i recommended 2.5 cuft per sub but the alpine recommendations are 1.75. that seems very small to me for a 12". they are gonna be runnin off a aq1200d amp at 1 ohms. will they do fine in a 5 cuft box dual chamber tuned to 38hz?

I see a lot of sub comparisons but I haven't seen this one. Which would you choose for a pure sound quality setup. 1 Treo SSp 10 in a 1.3 cu. ft ported enclosure 34hrtz. 2 Fi SSD 10in. in a 1.85 cu. ft ported enclosure tuned to 35hrtz. 1 FI BL 10in in a 1.3 cu. ft ported enclosure tuned to 34 hrtz. 2 Fi Q 10in in a 1.85 cu. ft ported enclosure tuned to 35 hrtz. The Treo I know will fit but I am not sure about the FI Q or BL because the motor is so wide so I am asking about all of the ones I am considering. These will be going under the rear seat of my 2010 dodge ram crew cab.

So ive been thinking about how I want to upgrade my system. I'm planning on getting two 10" dcons in a ported box. I currently have 4" coax speakers and 6.5" coax on the rear deck. Both sets of speakers suck in the mid range. Would I be able to use a 6.5" kicker cvt for mid bass like bass drum kicks and stuff (like 80-200+ hz?) . It says it works in a sealed .2-.3 cu ft. enclosure. I bet I could find room for it infront of the middle seat in the back. I could get a 5 channel amp to power the speakers and this 6.5 woofer. Is this a stupid idea? Would this small woofer be redundant?

Hi ive been a lurker on this forum for awhile and yesterday decided to buy the MAW-15. I had a 12 Phoenix Gold RSd in 1.2 sealed and it didnt have enough output for my liking so i turned the bass boost up 1/4 and blew it, lol, noob mistake i know... The amp i had it running off of was the Alpine MRP-M850, gains set accordingly to 800rms. Well anyways im gonna try the MAW-15 and see what happens, i will put it in the recommended sealed enclosure of 2.2 i believe (Is that after displacement or before)? Now how much wattage can this thing take, ive heard it can do 700rms fine, some guy said he did 900 but i doubt it. Well i will have up to 800rms clean so power for it isnt a…

I need help picking a good set of components. I have 125w rms per channel to run them on and I need 6 3/4" size woofers. The amp I will be using is my US Amps USA-300. I don't really care about how loud they get, but I want to have the best sq that I can get. My budget is around the $500 - $600 range. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! Edit: I forgot to add that I listen to just about every type of music, so they must be well rounded.

Here is my is where i am at. I am going to get 2 JL 500/1. I am looking at 2 ebay auctions. I don't know if ii should get the 12in Image dynamics dual 4ohm or a RE audio 12in SX dual 2 ohm? I am looking for big base but still keep a good amount of SQ. Also i don't know which would be better for me 2 or 4 ohm. I have read lots of good things about RE audio on this forum ,but Image dynamics doesn't seem like a bad choice. I am going to build a sealed box if that makes a difference.

I have a 90 GT Mustang and I am stuck between two different set ups. I either want to go with two ICON 12's or a single XCON 15. I have never heard either set up. I am using a 3000d for power with good electricals. My question is which will be better from as far as output? I know two 12's is more cone area but with lower power. The 15 would be less cone area but is rated for 750 more watts. I plan on using the box specs on the SSA forum. Any ideas or advice?
