I am looking to put either a 12" Bl or Icon in my 2010 4 door silverado, I am powering them with a aq1200d, and will be porting the enclosure to maximum recommendations, I will be trying to make an efficient box, that will require less power, which sub do you think is better?

i was just thinking if there will be other sizes boxs like a 15. thanks jamie

Had to killed the Treo system the installer and me was not seeing eye to eye and I was not going to give away money that I work hard for. Now need help on the new set and the only thing that I have my mind made up on is the and it will be an Alpine 9831 or 9831. There are four subs I thinking about :Soundstream T4 12, Kicker L7 12, Infinity Kappa Perfect 12 DVQ and the Alpine SWX 1242D. Just want to know out of the four which on would be the cleanest and hardest hitting sub? Not sure on the 6.5 and the 6x9 and the amps to run yet will read what youre think.

So I will be in the market for new sub woofers and I need some help narrowing/making a choice. They will be 2 12's What I'm looking for out of the sub is some thing that will play nicely with the front stage, which will consist of Mach 5 mli65's in the doors and seas 27TFNN's in the pillars being ran active by an 880prs. I'm sure 2 12's will have more then enough output for me so that is not being considered. The subs will start out their life in a sealed enclosure but I would like them to be versatile enough to experiment with different enclosures. Just wanted to get an opinion on the best SQ 8's 10's or 12's. I have limited experience with anything above the 200 dollar a sub range. For the sake of arguement lets use a small enclosure 1.5 cubes or less. With 1kw or less

I am getting a new 2001 mustang soon and looking into a new system to put in it. I measured and the largest box i could possibly fit into the trunk is 15x28x38. Somewhere suggested 2 SDC2.512-D4 and a AQ1200D which would run me a little under 600.I would like to be able to hit lows pretty good if possible. I was just wondering if this would work or if there is anything else that would be a better fit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Doing some testing for couple compaines but MAINLY for myself. Vehicle is a 2000 S-10 ext cab Xtreme. Still have lots of subs to try, and things to do to current ones. Sundown Audio NSv2 D1 with SPL coil- 3900rms, 151.3 @ 43hz Sundown Audio NSv1 D2 coil- 2300rms, 149.5 @ 45hz Atmos Exo D2 coil- 1600rms, 149.7 @ 44hz Cascade Omega- 1800rms. 148.4 @ 49hz Incrimintor Audo Warden- 3200rms 152.0 @ 43hz DC lvl4 xl with Spl coil- did not clamp, 151.0 @ 43hz This was just after one day of testing fast as possible to keep tempature and conditions close to same as possible. Lots more on the way!

I need clarification on something. I am doing a weird wiring scheme for some tweeters, well I think I might. I have 10 tweeters that have a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. I need confirmation on the load if wired in this fashion. 3-2-2-3 By my calculation this would give me a final load of 3.75, correct? Each set is wired in series, then all 4 sets are wired in paralell.

heard from alot of guys that this would be the way to go. sq wise. never really done too much research on this topic so i have a limited understanding how all this works. can i just swap the co axles for the mids? or do i need a crossover? also i plan on switching my jbl gto 628 6.5's with crescendo pwx 6.5 mids. heard nothing but good things about em. all amped on a rf 400.2

Was thinking about switching to a SPL 12" Mach 5 Audio sub or a Fi BTL 12" ... My question is about the SPL 12", can they be modded to Dual 1 ohm's or is Dual 2 the standard? Also, would I be underpowering the Mach 5 with 2 Sundown Audio 1500D's or would it be just right? I've gotta make a decision, because I would like to be able to pull the amps down to .25 ohm or .50 ohm for competitions and the MTX 9500 12" I'm currently using, only comes in Dual 4 ohm so I'm only able to get both amps to see 1 ohm. Also what would be the best pricing shipped and who do I need to talk to directly on here? Also would this sub be safe to play music on, on a daily basis? Any input i…

Just a quick question from a newb. I took my old system of out my '98 Cavalier last summer and am just getting around to getting it installed into my 'new' '03 Cavalier this weekend. My system includes a rebuilt 5 channel alphasonik amp, some 4x6 pioneer door speakers (which are currently installed), an older model pioneer deck w/ usb hookup, a single 12" kaption sub, and a set of 6x9 Energy speakers for the rear. When I installed my door speakers, I tried installing the rears at the same time. hi, i am thinking of getting 2 12" D1 icons and putting them in a 2.2 F^3 ported enclosure tuned to 33 hz and possably being powered by a Saz 1500d. i am not a basshead by anymeans. and i listen to mostly to rap and i am wondering how loud would they be even the above info(granted that they are sq subs).

I'm doing some planning in here...hopefully in a month or so I can pickup one of the new Eclipse head units and some speakers. The only thing I've dealt with before is a set of MBQuart speakers(RSD-216 RKC-116) and an MTX amp. I don't want to take up ANY room in my trunk as nearly 1/2 will be gone with my sub. So that means no more amps at all period. Unless you guys can tell me that I could mount it under my seat or something but even then I dunno as it does cost more money. hello, i have a 15" icon powered by a jl 1000 amp. its in a pro box ported enclosure. i set the amp up according to the jl tech's instructions and when i really crank on it sometimes the speaker gives off a burning smell. it did it twice so i dont crank it that hard anymore. i purchased my sub during the free sub box deal was going on and got it with a 4 cu 33hz box and when i would turn the sub volume all the way on the head unit is when i first smelled the burning so i took it back out of that box and put it back in the pro box. my question is am i clipping the sub or do i need to step up to the xcon. i have my settings on the amp at the recommended settings and only ha…

I want sql, i want subs that are tight as can be but still hit you in your chest and get loud.
