The sub box is 2.0 cubic ft per sub tune at 34hz with Sundown sa 12. I've heard that with tunning below 35hz your lpf should be around 80hz or below! Any truth to that? And shouldn't the lpf slope play a part say if 80 hz was best is that with a 12db slope or 24db or does that even mater?

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34766_Rockford-Fosgate-P3D4-12.html The styling on that bish is craaaaazy. I just want to know from designer's and manufacturer's how much thought goes into the looks department of a sub, or...any product for that matter. I know there's you "I could care less how it looks, it's all about performance" but to me that's almost never true. Those blue ass "HIFONICS" logos and smooth one piece dustcaps like the AA Havoc has all add to the final product. (Not saying you should buy a Hifonics or Rockford P3 or even a Havoc just for looks) So I just want input from other people. I'll probably get mad hate for puttin the Rockford link, but all th…

Hey guys, Just need some info on these babies (the 12" D2's) mainly. First off....price! Secondly, I would like to know how these monsters stack up against the L7's and the Fi BL subs. I'm stuck between getting the 12" L7, BL, or D2. Performance....The car that anything will be put in is a '03 ford taurus (seats do fold down). Each sub will be powered off of a RF T10001.bd amp. in a box like this... http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...;Fs=27&CE=0 So which sub will I get the most performance out of? The subs that I need to compete with, here in my town, are two 12" L7's. Everyone thinks nothing can compare to them. Can I show them wrong with a couple MAG's?…

Now everyone knows that LR posted his free box of the week on CA and it looks good to me but then again i dont know much about it, he does. is 3.2ft^3 big enough ? hes got it tuned to 32 and that seems so much easier when you have all of the cutout sizes laid out for you in that diagram. im thinking i might want the tuning more at say 29 but im not sure. i was going to go sealed for the easiness of the construction versus ported but im lookingat my options as of now. anyone care to comment?

I just picked up a set a focal components and was wondering what the seasoned guys on here would suggest. My problem is i dont have room to build large pods outside the doors to house the 6.5. Could i use like a 6 inch pvc pipe and seal up the back side of it and glass up a front baffle to mount to the door skin at the factory location. I have about 7 inches between the outer and inner door skins and no window interference. I want the best sound out of these without building pods outside the door panel. Is this going to be enought volume or should i go a different route. Thanks guys.

I recently got my first comp set. They where used. I hooked them up to my head unit. They are working just not much came out of the mid bass speaker. Is this do to lack of power from the head unit? I have an amp to power th just do not have all my cables to connect it. I was excited and wanted to here them. Should I expect better results once connected to my amp?

I will have to make some door panels since the Crescendo 8's wont fit in the stock locations without the factory door panels blocking half the speaker. So I think panels are the best choice here. I will probably do them in 3/4 MDF and flush mount them and cover in black vinyl to match truck and box. I was going to do 6's also in doors but dont have room unless I really get into the storage areas of the stock panels which I dont really want to do. Should I do the FT1's flush mounted in door panels too or try my hand at fiber glassing some pillar pods in each corner. Will they be loud enough in doors? I hate to make a even bigger blind spot in the corner in the pillar, whic…

I have a couple questions. First would be: I have an 86 Ford Crown Vic that i just installed some 5 1/4 coaxials in the front kick panels, and i was wondering if i added a baffle or some type of backstop if it would increase the volume a little bit. I dare not list the speakers in question because of the shittyness. They are just mounted in the factory location under the door panel cover. Second question would be if i ran 2 sets of four ohm speakers to my two channel amp what ohm load would the amplifier see. Amp is a RF punch 450.2 powering 2 sets of coaxials. I ran the left channels both positives to the amps positive speaker output and the same with the negative…

what are people getting into their doors ? i dont mind some cutting and whatnot, but i'm not looking to make a whole new door skin. i had hoped to get a set of 6.5 comps and a mid base in the door. the comps look easy enough , but where could i put the mid base ? would it be bad to put the mid base in the back doors? or under seats ? any pics would go a long way for me. thanks
