Have spent some time in my car, tuning frequencys and adding/removing sheep wool from my 1"cuft box now. And the result is outstanding from what I can hear. The tight snap from the D2 really compliments the sound from my BA PRO 4.5 & 6.5 components. Slammed in Eric Claptons "best of" cd, listened to some Metallica, Korn, Toccata & fugua and a lot of other stuff. The only conclusion I can come up with is that this is by far the cleanest thing I've had in my trunk; I borrowed a sealed RF 2112 and hooked it up, and man what a difference in sound in comparison to the D2, blurry and with no thump. The Kappa Perfect I tried next sounded much better than the RF, but coul…

i sold my friend my old pioneer ts-w3002d4 subs and a hifonics bxi2006d amp ... i had 4 of these subs wired for 2 ohm in my car (didnt feel like waiting a month for the d2 ohms) and i had them facing up in a sealed box and the excursion was great on them even with roughly 1300 watts at 2 ohm ... we built a ported box tuned to 28hz facing the trunk and now the subs barely move at 1 ohm with 2000 watts powering them ... why is this? i checked the ohm load and it is indeed 1 ohm

Does anyone have experience with the Exile flat subs, or even flat subs in general? My 10" Q takes up way too much space in my car (2 seater) and adds too much weight so I'm going to sell it and it's looking like a flat sub is my only option to stay comfortable. I know a sub like this won't be near as nice as my Q, but do they at least sound good and get loud enough for normal listening?

I figured I would share... I bought these a few months back dirt cheap. I was planning on using them in my car, but they are just too damn big for my doors. I wanted a bit more bottom end up front then my Hertz Milles were delivering. I love the Mille tweet, but I missed the bottom end of my CDT ES-06s. Anyways, I took some shots of it next to my ES-06. A single Anarchy weighs in at about 8 pounds apiece. For comparisons sake, the box with both my ES-06s weighed in at 6 pounds. I thought the ES-06 was huge when i first got them. Bigger then any other 6.5 mids I can recall having my hands on by a long shot. Without a doubt they are the heaviest mids, by a mile... I figured…

Been talking to Kevin from DIY Cable about the Anarchy mids and found out that he has a 4 ohm version designed. He has not been able to get enough orders to make a production run, but he is trying to give it a go. He needs 150 drivers preordered, a tall task I know but hopefully between all the car and other sites we can get it done. Here is the link: http://www.diycable.com/main/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=538 Now order some!!

JUST EMAIL KEVIN AT [email protected] WITH " I WANT 4 OHM ANARCHYS!! " IN THE SUBJECT LINE AND BODY. This is an unofficial attempt to get a single run of 4 ohm Anarchys for the car audio crowd as well as those who want MTMs with 2 run in series for 8 ohms. Though I would be stupid to claim I convinced Kevin to stop making Maelstrom-X's with 8 ohm coils, I firmly believe I helped tip him in that direction. When Kevin 1st released the Anarchys he did so at an astonishing $45/ea to get MASSIVE attention to them, just as he initially released the Maelstrom-X 21's at a whopping $550/ea for a while, with several special offers along the way: free shipping, buy one Maelstrom-…

I had an SSA Icon 12 in my car for about a year on 1200w RMS. The sub was in a 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 33 hz and it was definitely the most musical sub i have ever listened while dropping an insane amount on lows. I sold the sub a few months ago, ordered an Xcon 15, and built a 5ft^3 box tuned to 33hz again. The sub arrived yesterday packaged inside a crate that was inside a box lol. This thing must not have moved an INCH. The suspension on this sub is STIFF. Most definitely the stiffest suspension I have felt. Anyways, after hooking it up to my MB Quart Onx2000.1, I can say this thing is...well for lack of a better word...a MONSTER. The move up in cone area and power defin…

Its come the time to glass some kicks and a pillar pods for the truck. so far im leaning toward the 6.5" MB Quart Premium comps for the kicks and 4" Premium comps also. im open for suggestions i want matching sets so top and bottom looks even. tweeter does not have to match woofer though. just as long as both sets look the same Any opinions/ experience/ suggestions would be appreciated

Anyone have experience with RE's SR/SRX lineup? Ready to order sub(s), but have come to a fork in the road: Multiple good subs vs one stronger sub of equal build quality. From what I've researched I could probably feed the SRX's 500w (<600w) a piece just fine; though they're 300rms rated. My thoughts: Wanted to stay under/around the $300 mark for the sub(s) and ~1kw of pow-a. Budget-"ish" build. Could have more cone area and better cooling w/ two subs on equal wattage. A single Q 18 seems loud and clear enough on it's own, from what I gather. I have no 150db targets or some ~ish not competing just knocking music. Big truck = big subs in my head. 15"+ Other factors: …

Does anybody have experience Customizing TRF Motors? Im looking to create a low end monster with pretty good sound . It will be a 18" woofer thats a daily driver. Are there any particular parts I should request as far as layers to the voice coil or a certain size spiders? Im probably going to go through PSI and have it built.

I having been using BBP 6 and WinISD to design a ported box for 2 Icon 12D1 and getting 2 different port lenghts. Could someone confirm which one is more accurate? My box will be made with 3/4 mdf 17 1/4 high 48 wide and 14 deep outside measurements. After sub and port displacement BBP 6 calculates this to be 4.043 cubs with a port 12.5 X 3 at 32 1/4 long tuned at 27h. WinISD says same specs with port length at 27.94. This is going in a 95 Mazda B3000 extra cab powered by a Sundown SAE 1200 for daily usage. I am fairly decent at box building but mainly just built sealed boxes. I want to try a properly designed tuned box for this new setup. Am I heading in the right direc…

Ok, so I know that doing this is generally wrong, frowned upon, and "ghetto" for the lack of better term. But my question is this. Is there a "right" way to do this, or "proper" way to do so. If so, what equipment should be used. Any product recommendations? For those not understanding what I'm referring to, is when people have, generally, weather proof PA Speakers mounted externally of their vehicles, playing music. Again, please skip the whole, "this is wrong and retarded" phase, and just provide some good advice. And no, don't do it, isn't the advice I'm looking for lol. So from experience, what I have seen people use is those PA speakers, that are mounted to cop…

ok I'm planning my next system right now. (last one got stolen) I'm thinkin 2 RE SR10's ported going under the back seat of my '02 Ext. cab silverado. Realizing there is almost no room back there I figure the best plan would be to build two different enclosures for each side. Doing so would give me about 0.88 ft.^3 per sub after sub displacement. But to make these vented I'm thinking could make external ports over the transmission hump. Does this seem like a bad idea?

So I was getting ready and doing some research about my new truck before I bought speakers and I found an interesting fact........ I have a new 2014 F150 and it has rear speakers, door speakers and tweeters. Door speakers get the full channel, tweeters also get the full channel with a capacitor or resistor to cancel the low frequencies. There is no factory cross - over. I am not going to amp this set of speakers because I am concerened about my hearing listening to loud music all the time. Anyways so all I was going to do was replace the door speaker with a coax speaker and replace the tweeter with just a better one. Will I get too much high range with a coax speaker …

I've been a FI guy ever since my first Fi sub...... I've been in love and never have doubted Fi. That is until I got these gen 3 neo btl's.... the bass is far different compared to my gen 2 even in a very similar enclosure.... I don't feel like typing a long drawn out review at the moment but in general I am disappointed.... Secondly I beat on my gen 2 btl with a 3000D at 1 ohm for almost two years and was happy... I recently sold this setup so I could try out the neo's... Well tonight one of my subs started scraping.... took it out of the box and it ohmed out perfect. I then free aired it and it was apparent I had a problem... so after taking the moving assembly out of…

What's Up Guys? I just recently bought a camaro and was wanting to develop a substage in it. I think I'm going to buy a subthump enclosure and was wondering what you guys thought I should do. They offer a deepwell enclosure whihc is what I was thnking of getting. I was wondering if 2 sealed RL-P 15's would be choked in 3.2 cubes or not? I have always used 12s and think 15s owuld be cool to use. The deep well box offers 3.2 cubes and then normal well enclosure offers 2.3 cubes. Deep Well Woofer Options-Single 12 or 15, and Dual 12 or 15 So Give me some ideas within these guidelines please. Thanks.

I'm going to attempt my first door pods. There not going to be down low and the bottom of the door like most. Mine will be up a little higher. My question is, whats the best way to face them??? Should they (6.5" mid & 1" tweet RE's RE comp set) both (pass & driver) be angle up towards me? Or the one on the pass. side angled towards me, and driver towards the pass.? Or what other suggestions would you recommend?

Ok, before i purchase these, let me know if you think it's gonna be loud enough and reasonably par sound quality. The sets i've chosen are TOTALLY different so you might go wtf for a sec as i even did when i made these choices, hehe. Front stage- 6.5" components Rear stage- 6.5" midbass drivers Chosen- Front - Alpine Type X Reference Rear- Audiobahn Midbass Driver Why? I am running 4KW of power, normally about 2-2.5 for longterm daily. I just need something louder that doesn't sound like garbage basically, nothing spectacular that just makes your heart stop quality, nothing like that. I have a Sundown 100.4 already. I was looking at the reference and Pro line of these Typ…

I own a scion tc and specs are- fronts are 6.5" 2way components rears are 5.25" co-axials. Since i am adding 3Kw worth of bass, i need high powered speaker replacements. I'm not a total audiophile, I just like it loud and clear. Anyways, i have been looking at these - JBL C608Gti MK II Why? because they are the loudest 6.5" 2way i can find without retailing over $1,000. Now, here is the question - if i power these with about 200w per side, for me sitting up front, would i not hear the rear speakers higher frequency range giving them 100w per speaker? I'm wondering if i am just suppose to replace the rear speakers with just 5.25" woofers only, no co-axial.
