Subwoofers / Speakers

Im wanting to purchase new subs for my explorer once i get my tax return. i previously had 2 15" kicker L7s in a ported box power by a memphis mojo 2400 amp. id like to stick around paying a 1000.00 for subs/amp/head unit. maybe a little more. id still like to get 2 15's. i had the last sytem 4 years ago so ive been out of the loops on good sub/amp combos. could i get some recommendations please. im wanting to be very loud, not to worried about SQ either.

I'm going to try and keep this as short, simple, and straight forward as possible. My trunk's cubic feet is 15.18 ... 2 18" Xcons Vas is 429, resulting in 15.14^3. Good match eh? I hate the idea of having just one subwoofer. I don't know why, but i just do. I want to see what everyone thinks about using Xcons in an IB setup? I read that it decreases power handling, doesn't sound as loud as an enclosure would, but saves space and weight. And hopefully allow me to utilize the amount of cubic feet i have and be able to use 2 18's! I'm looking to get a new 12" sub, I will be porting the sub, and I want spl, what do you guys think, I am looking for the best sub for the money.

I was originally going to get the Sundown SA series but I saw the AQ's and was wondering if they sound good and get loud? Plz be detailed because I haven't heard ether in a setup. I know the sa's meter well for there price point, but I want 2 18's or 3 15's if sundown gets some d4's. They will be powered by a aq2200d.

i have 2 aq 2200d amps an all the electrical to go with it an im wanting to do 2 subwoofers but its between 2 fi btls or 2 xcon im looking for alot of flex thanks for any help oh yeah its going in a chrysler 300

is there a bid difference. how do the compare in quality and loudness. which one would be better. the audioque are 139 and the ssd 179. any other subs within that price range that are loud?

Yeah i broke two of them from hitting the bottom of my seat. i had so other 8s in the same box and had no problem but the sa-8s had more excursion than i expected. my fault!. do you think i would have the same issue with the sa10?? i know they move a good bit.. just trying to figure out an option thats gonna work for these...

Lately ive been considering upgrading the sub stage in my 1998 s10 extended cab truck. Currently I have a pre fabbed sealed downfire box. says its 1.75 cu ft per side (holds 2 12's). got 2 ppi subs in there powered by a older fosgate 1000.1bd. Not really liking the way it sounds sealed up. I know its a pre fab box and all but i love the output of a ported box. Love the lows. Of course if i could i would slap a btl or 2 in there but thats not realistic for me right now. Im on a budget. I will be building the box myself. I have built 2 boxes for these things and both have sounded like trash. I know they require about .6 cubes but I have yet to find the port area that is needed. I used winisd for both boxes and I have an insainamount of port noise the last box has a port 3.25x8.5x39 and I think the port length is to long already and I didn't have enough room for a larger port due to it getting longer. What size box and port should I go with?

I currently have a set of phoenix gold passive components being powered by a teac 100 x 2 amp. The head unit is a JVC KW-nx 7000. A Fi BL 12 in a 2.5 ft^3 box tuned somewhere in the low 30 powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500D make up my low end. I'm interested in going active with my front stage and getting a better amp and components. I want a little improvement in sound, not really trying to win any SQ competitions. the budget is about $200 which I know is low, but I"m trying to plan a wedding and honeymoon and I think the fiancée is probably gonna kill me for even thinking about spending that much . Suggestions?

i currently have 1 dc xl 15... should i buy a second one and do the wall or should i keep this one save the money for more power and do a slot or aeroport box in the trunk no backseat or just sell it for something better

i need to ship a sub to get it reconed and need some tips on pakaging...i am going to wrap the sub with a bag and spandy foam around it but need tips on what size box i would need the sub is 9" from tip of motor to rim

Just looking for an opinion here. I have not used either, but I have a rep that is trying to sell me a W7 for 400 and I've been looking at the XCON, but of course the rep is saying that the W7 is by far better than the XCON. He's stated that he has been a JL rep for the last 7 years and he has yet to hear a sub sound as clean and heart pounding as the W7. With no preference towards spl or sq, what do you guys think the better buy would be, or just give me something for arguments sake. whats the difference in sound, power handling and pretty much overall?..since their made by the same people it makes it hard for me to choose..i dont like the look of the new n2 so im leaning more toward the mayhem..and weight is not an issue..

So I am pretty set on putting 4-12s in my malibu. I have been looking into the AQ HDC3 12s and they look beast as well as the AA Havoc 12s. What I'm looking for with this thread is what sub do you guys think I should go with? I can put each sub in a box about 2-2.5 cubes each, and I will be running a Sundown 2000d on each pair so roughly 1000-1250 watts each sub. The thing with the 4-12 setup is the space, I have 42w, 34 length, and 12-15 Height. At first I was thinking subs up port back would be the best bcz I don't know how I could fit subs back port back with only 42 inches of room? SO yea any ideas on subs and a box design would be great

Merry Christmas to me indeed. I got a new Sundown Audio Sax-1200d amplifier, a new Skar Audio VVX-12 Subwoofer, a KnuConceptz 4ga mono amplifier kit, and a custom made 12" Ami-Creations ported subwoofer box for the trunk of my 2005 Honda Civic LX 4 dr. The box is about 1.95 CuFt after sub and port displacement, and the box is tuned to 32 hz. I am planning to run the SA 1200d at 2 ohms to my sub, which should give me right around 750 wRMS. I am extremely excited and am going to perform the install Monday, as i am off work all week for vacation. I have posted some pics below from this morning:
