I have some 70w rms pioneer 5-way 6x9s that sound decent but definitely not as clear as I would like. So I thought Id buy some quality 6x9s, Ive been looking around for awhile and none seem to come close to the Infinity kappa 693.9I 3-way speakers in specs. Anybody have any experience with these? Seem like a good purchase for around $100? Specifications: Power Handling (RMS): 110 W Power Handling (Peak): 330 W Frequency Response: 35Hz – 30kHz Nominal Impedance: 2 Ohm Sensitivity (2.83V @1m): 96dB Also my kenwood 6.5s are clear and sound fairly great but I doubt…

  6. I've been putting this off for too long just researching so i forced myself to finalize a box and i did today so there's no turning back now! This is what i have to work with and YOU will decide what goes in my car Box specs- EXTERNAL- Height - 17.75" Width - 36.25" Depth - 17.75" Double Baffle Design INTERNAL GROSS - 5.06 cubes Amps - 2 AQ2200Ds or 2 Opti2000Ds I won't buy the amps until i know what ohm load i'm working with. Both capable of producing 4,000w at 1 ohm or 2 ohm so their's your start. Port spec - This is port displacement based upon power used. IF you pick a design that can't handle 4kw, then port will take up less volume allowing more NET volume. 4KW- 0…

Ok, so I have power limitations. So could I be able to get good sound from any subs in this site with that power or I just wasting my time and money? I'm better buying Kicker, MTX, Cerwin Vega or something like that?

I've recently been offered a 1993 towncar for a great deal. I was wondering if i could cram 2 soundsplinter 18's sealed in the trunk. I cant find the dimensions of the trunk, so anyone who has one should help me out! The car will be temporary because i will be buying an suv of some sort later.

So i just got my new infinity kappa speakers a few days ago. While i was installing them, i noticed they were crackling alot while i was screwing them to the door. After a good amount of investigation, i came to realize that the frame of the speaker (or any metal on it) was creating a short on the door of the car itself. I could take my knife and touch the speaker frame and then touch the door, and it would short with sparks arching at the other end. The stock speakers were coated in plastic around that area so that the screw was isolated from the speaker and wouldnt short. Does any one know why this is happening? any ideas on how to keep it from happening on my new spea…

Hello this is my first post here. Ive been researching and looking at subs for a while trying to decide what sub to put in my 86 crown vic. Ive been pointed towards IA and have heard many good things about them thats why i am gonna go with the 187 15. I was gonna put it in a ported box. I have plenty of space for a box in my trunk I have looked and researched sub calculators and all that but still don't know how to determine the frequency and portsize or design. Im going for a mix of volume and sound quality. And would like to know how to pick the frequency, how to tune the box to that, and what portsize. My dad is a carpenter and i was gonna give him the demensions…

I'm running out of thread titles.. I'm going to be getting two Mach 5 IXL-12s, and a Orion 2500D to power the two. My truck(see sig) right now, has no head unit and it has one factory speaker that works if I remeber right. I got a replacement headunit, but.. no speakers/component setup/whatever else I can do. What should I do? should I go with 3 way speakers or whatever they are, or go with a component setup? I don't have a lot of cash on tap.. I gotta finish a motor when it arrives, and gotta pay Mark @ Mach 5 when the money transfers to my paypal. Should I worry about a rear stage? I put some older Pioneer subs, Kenwood KAC8103D, and a Kenwood KDC-205 in a sunfire, an…

I was set on buying some SA12s and a sundown 1200d, until I saw Lethal injections on sale here for 151 each. Which ones are better, SA12 or LI12??? I like low end bass on rap songs. I built a box for the SA12s, would the LI12s fit in 3.2ft at 30hz? I'm terrible with decision making when it comes to buying something!

Well, I have 2 RE SE 12's on a Us Amps XT4000DEV2, heres the problem my stock speakers can't hold up for shit.......And my max budget on Speakers is 100$ and as for an amp I'm pretty set on the Us Amps XT800.4V2 for the price(50)......So my decision is on what components i should get....Was originally set on some Type R's to match my rears, then SSA has the bravox group buy and all this happening I can't decide i just want to hear my mids and highs over my subs. I well deaden the doors and make a little sealed chamber for better mid. Might go active but I'm not so sure. I also plan on getting an EQ so just need to decide on which things to get. Well I received it today and was going to use my garbage box to break it in. The box is very small and I don't expect good output or sq but it is just for break in. My question is, this cheap box came with plastic carrying handles that are recessed into the box and the sub wouldn't clear them, so I had to remove them. I now have two 3-3/4"X 2-1/4" slots in the box. Will this damage my sub? I don't plan on playing at high levels in this box.

I currently run a single 12 inch zcon and don't really have the room for multiple sub's or any bigger. I'm looking for suggestions on a sub that will get louder and lower if there is one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I could fit a 15 but I don't really want to build the box inside the trunk.

  21. well i have decided that it is time for a switch up in the system. i curently have a RE sx 15", with a american bass 100.1, but the sx is being sold today. after reading many rave reviews and talking to sean (ibander on most fourms) i am pretty set in that i want to get the new mag. the only thing is if i want a 12 or a 15. my dilemma, i would like trunk space. but no big deal if i dont have any. ibander said that with too big a box none of the sound will make it into the cabin, i believe what he says being that he knows more than me and has more experience. i will probally just go with a 12" ported i dont really have a question, or a point. just wanted to say hi and yo…

Well i finally got my gcon 15 put in on saturday and for some reason all the owner of the store wanted to do is play songs as loud as he could. When talking to my friend i over heard him say thats the loudest F350 I have ever heard and probably ever will hear. I was held up at the store for a good 20 minutes after they had the sub installed and i didnt have to pay anything for the install. Thanks Mark and Arron for all the help SSA for life.

Hey guys, so I'm looking for some pro input. Mids/Highs - EJS Audio Full Size Horns under the dash *powered by Linear Power 2202 (mod)@ 110 x 2 @ 4 ohm load. Midbass - Undecided at this point, might even be running ID8v1 or v2's in the doors *powered by Linear power 3002 (mod) @ 175 x 2 @ 4/8 ohm load. Subs - This is where I'm a little stuck. I'm trying to snag as much cone area as I can because we'll be in the trunk running two drivers. I'm probably going to be running 15's because I've got 3-5 cu ft to work with and I'll be running sealed. I know that running one driver ported will get me more output, but some music I listen to has very fast bass transit…

hey guys, Just put in my request at work for my rockford fosgate accomodation. Im picking up 2 t40001bds. I have a 2003 chevy s10 ext cab, bagged and bodydropped. I already have 4 kinetik 2400s, over 130ft of 1/0 with 6 runs from the front to the back, and a new alt coming soon (currently have a 160a, which is obviously not enough) I cant decide what subs i wanna run! i have roughly 8 cubes to play with, so i was thinking a pair of 15s. maybe btls, or level 5 dcs, or maybe t3 tsns. i dont know! its gonna be for a daily, and i want this thing loud as hell. I used to have 2 btl 18s in it in a huge box that went to the top of the window, and i hated driving it like that. …
