This weekend, I will finally get my stuff installed. This includes Iraggi alternator, big 3, new battery, pg tantrum 1200.1 amp, and 2 12 mags sealed in a gnomeaudio box. Can't wait!!! Next weekend, I will make kicks for my CDT comps and sounddeaden the trunk with some secondskin. I'll let yawl know how it sounds.

I have been trying to wire up my subs. I have two Mach 5 Audio SPL12s hooked to a Audiopipe AP3000.1D. I am using 8 gauge wire to go from the amp to the subs. However I cannot get the wire to stay in these terminals. I put one 8 gauge wire in and tightened them all the way up and the wire still didn't really stay in there. So what I came up with is this: I took the nut off where the tinsel lead goes to the terminal, then put a length of 8 gauge with a ring connector on it. Will this cause any problems? I don't have both subs done yet, so it is not hard to revert. I find these terminals a pain in the ass! its sort of like what DD has done with their subs.

Im looking for a new set of speakers since my current SB Acoustics are ruined by water damage from my current door panel. Im getting a new car soon and wanted to see if there were any pros or cons in swapping drivers. Currently I have no problems with my SB Acoustics SB17NRXC35-4. But if Im going to get another pair I minus well compare them to whats on the market now. I have narrowed it down between these three drivers: SSA Evil 6.5", Fi FN.7 or my current SB Acoustic Drivers. I've finally decided to go with a single 15 ported setup...bout 4cu.ft.tuned to bout 33hz Ive got canidates in mind...but havent looked every where... My old Death Row has been sitting around for a while not doing anything. I decided to give it to my brother and was wondering what the downsides would be to trying to run the Death Row in a Sealed Box? I know it is recommended ported, but the proper room just isn't there. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Im looking into buying two of these american bass 12's for $400 The guy says they are D4 HD series Problem is: american bass dont make the hd in d4 (idk about the past) Im trying to see what kind of sub it really is, if its the xd thats a good deal any lower series its not a good deal hes going to send a pic of the back of the magnet in a couple hours after work which american bass sub is this? heres a pic he sent me thanks

I've got two 10" kicker L5s in my extended cab ranger right now, running off an SAE-1000D amp and it's not loud enough for me. I prefer something that sounds good, and I don't compete so I need a sub for a daily driver. Trying to stay around $250 per sub, I was looking at the Elemental Designs 16Ov2, SSA Icon, Mach5 IXL or possibly the AA Arsenal. Both the eD and the IXL stand out to me, I've heard some favorable things about them. I aim to buy one now and run it ported off around 1000W RMS, and add a second later when I get another SAE-1000D strapped (1800W). What would you recommend I get and why? Hello guys, I am still waiting for my amp kit and my dash kit for the head unit. But I'm thinking about my future install. I' will run a Pioneer x5600bt and 2 IA amps : a 3.4 on my focal KP 165 and a 20.1 on my 15" zcon sub. I'd like to try an active setup this time. Do you think it is worth trying with my current mids and tweeters ? I know I would need a processor to do so. As I don't want to break the bank, I'll look into the mini dsp you all talk about. My installer will build solid baffles for the speakers, and the tweeters will sit next to the mids. There is no stock place for the tweeters. Well guys after having a miss-hap with the old skewl kicker (kicker c-series) I decided to go with an eclipse Ti 12" and boy am I one happy person!!!!!! I can't believe how wonderful this thing sounds. I dropped it in the box my RE SE 12" was in (2^3 net) and I know I know it's probably not built to specs but man I just had to test this thing out!!! It sounds a lot better then the SE did with higher range freq probably around 63 and up where the SE lacked. Low end is pretty good too, I might test this sub out in a 1^3 box I got sittin around that's sealed. All n all I'm very happy with my purchase and just wanted to share it with you guys! = me

I am not going to continue to ask for details on crapcom about them, so I brought it over here. I have a soft spot in my heart for round solo barics of old. I want to know if the CVX's are the round solo's reborn. I understand they are up market from the L5's, Polecat has said they are the choice for sealed over L7s in SQ and output, and I believe at the moment he is building a install with them in his 'burb. So, anyone heard them?

hey guys how big of a difference will there be between the 2 pbx12's i have now and the pbx 15's. all of this is in a mazda protege hatchback and i wanna know will the 15's make a bigger difference than the 12's the amp is an orion 2500d. thanks guys

She is a 15" right now and since I have a coil gone on it anyway she will be rebasketed to a 10" as soon as DD has quad coils back in stock. What do you think? Will she make a sexy 10"?

Looking at changing a grand prix from a 15" L7 to two 9510-4's. The amp is a kicker 1000.1. The kicker L7 is ported and in a box I guessed to be 3cf. It is under the rear deck and does not come behind it at all. Using kickers rec. tuning I modeled it and the 2 9500's. I found that the L7 is louder but doesn't go as low. If I increase the power to the MTX's they can get just as loud . Does anyone have a thought about this? Are the 9500s a upgrade over an L7? I have never heard a L7 but will hear this install on Friday. I'm just trying to get a better idea what to expect.

so, my first set of aftermarket speakers were a set of carbon fiber Bravox comps. i blew both tweeters and one woofer. (had them bridged on my boss-rev665 so double rms. and not tuned. also had bass boost on. and gain was over 3/4. lol. (obviously before i knew anything) Lear From Your Mistakes! so i decided to have some fun. took it pretty well for i few seconds. Gain AND Bass boost were AL THE WAY UP! enjoy. (click photo)

I am just about set on a Sound Splinter RL-p15 and when i get money i was planning on ordering one.... BUT, a dealer just offered me a brand new Adire brahma for 300 shipped. I have read that the RL-p and Brahma are very comparable subs.... just use different technology. I have never heard either and dont think i would be able to hear either of them. So, I guess i need your guys help in deciding here. Which way should i go??
