My subs been "rattling" for a bit and finally went back there to listen to it and it sounds like this: http://imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/193/sdm.mp4/ Obviously it was playing at low volume, and I held the cam so close because I wasn't sure if my phone could pick it up as well as it did lol. Does it need a re-cone already or what? Ive had it for about a month, maybe less.

Currently I have the CDT classic 6.5" mids with 480 x-over and tw25 main tweeter silk and I think the T1 silk upstage tweeter. I was thinking of upgrading the mid with the M6 and upgrading the x-over with the ES-200 but I'm not sure because of how bad the midbass is on what I'm using now. My highs are nice and loud but I have no midbass. So while thinking about this I've also considered scrapping CDT all together and going with a Dynaudio 242 GT set-up or even Morel HYbrid Ovations. While lookin at the prices of these I found the RE XXX and an incredible savings here: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=4928 So considering the price break I wanted to k…

I am working on sealed for my 15 as we speak. Anyone come up with one that's 3.5 cubes at 27 that will fit in a trunk? My box will measure 16 x 14.5 x 31.5 and end up being the 3 cubes after bracing and displacement Just looking for other good ideas for a box that would work for me and maybe help others who haven't decided on what their doing yet. and.... I've been reading that if i want loud for music, i need to go with as much cone area and power as i can. My limited power available is only 4,400w. To keep costs down, i've been looking at some subs at sonicelectronix and i see 2 that seem pretty interesting to me. They are all 12s. Clif Designs CDNUC12 Clif Designs Absolute VI 2000.4 Absolute That Absolute is the D6 version because they have no current info on the D4. I was also lookin at AQs SD2.5s but these subs are cheaper. The reason why i posted this thread is because i'm being told that running 4 12s for daily driving, because of more cone area and more heat dissipation, is gonna be a better, louder choice that run…

So I'm going to be using these little monsters in my dad's stereo & possibly in my own. I figured I'd show you guys some pics of them & ask for any ideas. I'm going to give my dad 2 & use 4 for myself. My question is what kind of enclosure should I use. Mainly asking about the 2 for my dad, I have never built for home audio & am working with a fairly large room. The rooms 20 x 14 with a 17 ft ceiling. Just looking for any help or links at all. thanks, nate the army!

Not breaking any new ground here, I know, but looking to get a bit more input before I do some spending. My ultimate goal is to have a great SQ substage. I was curious what the best route would be in terms of an enclosure. Sealed? Ported? Tuning? Size? Sub firing upwards? Port firing rear? SI Suggestions: Sealed 1 to 1.3 ft^3 Ported 2 ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz I'm sure I'll end up staying close to these, but which end of the 'spectrum' would yield the greatest sq potential of an SI Mag D2 12"? Other information that may or may not help: Car - 1999 Subaru Impreza Wagon (sub behind rear seat, ample enclosure space) Amp - USAmps DE1000 (1000wrms+ @1ohm) Deck - Pioneer Premier DEH-…

Stuck between the two. I like the e12a.22 option because of the displacement/$ value - it's adding another driver at under $200 vs. spending the $400+ for a new LMT. Leaves me with cash left over. But if there's something really special about the new SS offering that dual underhung drivers with 50+mm of Xmax combined can't touch...I'll fork over the cash. Just interested in your opinions. Supa, I know what you're going to say Figured I'd post on here because it'll stay up longer and I'll get more intelligent responses.

Will playing 5hz below my enclosure frequency be harmful for my woofer? My enclosure is tuned to 33hz right now, but on a couple of songs the notes drop to 28hz. My SSF is at 0 (dont kill me!) and here is why: The other day I played with test tones from 27-35hz and tried to set my SSF to about 28hz... For some reason no matter how much I adjusted the SSF to only begin at 28hz, it would decrease my 30-33hz output as well... As of now I keep it at 0 and just be careful not to play anything below 33hz too loud. Not trying play 20hz notes or anything, just wanted to know if its harmful to play a few Hz below your tuning freq. Don't wanna kill my woofer! Thanks!

Hey guys, I have a brother that I installed an mj18 with a buttkicker silent subwoofer amp for almost 2 years ago. It has been great for him but now he is ready to upgrade, currently since the mj18 is 4ohm the amp is running 4ohm. What I would like to do is keep the amp, and 3.6-3.8cf box and replace the mj18 with an ixl18, but I realize its a 2+2voicecoil config. So the buttkicker is 2ohm stable, but I have read that if an amp is 2ohm stable then it will be 1ohm stable as well is there any truth to this? Also the box is sealed, and I wondered how the ixl would do in the sealed box at 3.6cf. We really like the price point for what the ixl can do. The only other opti…

I have a ram quad cab that they will be going in. I will be using the center console for the placement of the subs. Dim. that I have to work with are 26 long 17 high and 15.5 wide. Those dims or smaller but I have plenty of vol. for a wide range of subs. Subs will be in sealed enclosure. I'm wanting sq but with a little attitude. I'm using CDT ES 06 for mid bass in my doors and CDT ES 04 and tweets in kick panels. My amp that will be powering the subs is a US Amps old school 100 HC. Would like the amp to see 1 ohm so I can get full use of the amps power. Aprox. 1400 to 1600 watts at 1 ohm. Ok I listen to all kinds of music but mainly rock and metel with everythi…

Figured I would ask before I just ended up throwing this in the trash. Is this sub salvageable to be sold for parts? If so, whats a fair price? 20140624_232038 by riored4v, on Flickr 20140624_232112 by riored4v, on Flickr

Not a lot of bumpers in this area so was wondering if anyone on here or anyone you know has a pair that i could drive to hear. Im willing to drive a couple hours away for the demo as my wife has insisted i hear these awesome subs before purchasing them This may need to go to general audio section, sorry if so.
